coach ramil, kumbaga he has been there and he has done that, kaya alam na niya na i-handle yung pressure.
ateneo is on an uncharted territory kaya dito sa game nila mate-test yung character nila.
simple lang dapat ang gawin ng lady eagles, focus lang in every set. huwag matakot na magkamali. mental aspect lang yan.
as for the lady archers. isipin nila that they are just playing a regular game. alam natin yung thrill na mag-14-0, pero the girls should play their usual game.
well, sobrang "friendly" at "respectable" kasi si Gorayeb kaya it was easy for him to "befriend" Frankie Lim, Dave Marcelo and the rest of San Beda Red Lions that time. mahilig din daw kasi sa "gorilla" at "maitim" si Gorayeb at ang mga Baste boys kaay madali silang "nagkasundo" ng mga Bedista.![]()
Hope it will be an injury-free battle.![]()
i won't be surprised if we will hear San Beda chants on Sunday's game again.![]()

I'm a supporter of the Lady Eagles, unfortunately DLSU is
just too tall, and too skilled for our girls. Fearless forecast:
ADMU will take a set but DLSU will win in 4.
The two teams are obviously gearing up for their game against each other. You definitely see changes on how they play especially on the last three games that they have. My analysis on both teams on how they address their weaknesses.
Ateneo:
Ferrer: I consider her the weakest because of her height. Teams have been attacking relentlessly when she is in front with Nacachi, so it seems they are addressing this by making sure that Cainglet and Lazaro is at the back.
De Jesus- It seems that they are making her play since their weakest is the middle. No one will be surprised to see her on the starting six or a replacement as an OH especially since Valdez is playing decently in the middle. However, she might be more of a liability especially with a very tall LS in front of her. Let's wait and see.
Cainglet- She is always been consistent especially in receiving and attacking, so more or less she will be guarded when she attacks.
Gervacio- It is obvious that she has given more set by Ferrer since everyone knows that Cainglet and Valdez will be guarded in this game. She is expected to step up big time, it is only now a question if she will deliver, which she did on the few last games.
Ho and Nacachi- They are acceptable middles. It is noticeable that they are given more quick sets by Ferrer. However, it is their blocking that is not consistent in every game. Nacachi continues to be a decoy and Ho is noticeably late in blocking opponents.
Valdez- We all have to admit the she did improve this second round. 30 pts is impressive. If she is converted to a middle I believe she would do a good job. However, it may not happen, since she is more effective as an OH. If she always checked on outside, LS should expect her to be converted to a middle to contain Maraño.
Lazaro- If she stands her ground and be as a reliable as she is a libero, their team should not worry about her.
Noticeable changes:
Combination plays where their OH and Gervacio are attacking in the middle with running spikes. Did anyone notice that? Expect this team to have middle attacks since their outside attacks are already effective.
Best Rotation:
Personally, it is Cainglet-Ho-Gervacio frontline or better yet a Valdez-Nacachi-Gervacio since Gervacio is effective in blocking.Cainglet and Lazaro are effective in digging and Cainglet can attack on the back.
Worst Rotation: Ferrer-Ho-Cainglet or whenever Ferrer is in the frontline with Gervacio on zone 1. Gervacio has a decent reception on their game against FEU so let's see if this has been improved.
DLSU:
Galang- This one will make sure she is gonna play. She was taken out on FEU and ADMU on the 1st elim and she is ready to prove herself this time (she was POG on the 2nd FEU game). Is there any other rookie who had more number of POG than her? Her reception is better and she has smarts now in attacking. Last time against ADMU, the opponent scored a lot on the Esperanza-Maraño-Galang rotation but that is not the case on the 2nd round especially last UST, UP and even NU game. One pexer pointed out why Esperanza keeps giving Galang the set. It is to give the girl more percentage to score and she is delivering.
Reyes- She will be a threat in the middle since her quicks is getting better leaving the blockers a bit too late to stop her. No doubt they are trying to make her block more consistent. Kudos to Maraño for teaching her when she is in front.
Esperanza- Is it me or she is starting to become a better receiver/digger at the back? It is also obvious that her blocks are getting better. LS knows that she is the target when she is in front, however, she is the second tallest setter in the league next to DMac so rather than replacing her, it seems that they're focusing on her blocks and receive since players like Cainglet and Valdez are know for their down the line hits. It's good to see that she now gives sets to rookies and not the usual Maraño quicks or Gumabao back sets.
Maraño- some says her play dipped but actually it became better. when did you see a middle that is so good in reception since Balse? It seems that the LS coaches seen that she become a Go to Girl in the 1st round and they do not want her team mates depend on her too much. They did not become no. 2 in receiving without her help and she continues to be dependable in front and the backline. Expect LE to stop her, maybe with Valdez?
Gumabao- consistent in blocking but if there is one thing the coaches will want her to improve on, it is her setting and reception. Her down the line and power tips are improving and you also notice that she is the one finishing long rallies. I agree that they will maximize her on this game especially when blocking, Valdez and Cainglet.
Cruz- If there is anyone on LS team that will make a difference on this game, it is her. She is the one giving points on crucial sets and her leadership is what this team needed. Their first round against Ateneo, she has been quiet, but she herself said: "We will peak at the right time", and if there is anyone peaking on the right time it is the team captain. Expect Ateneo watch out for her.
Gohing-she might not be the best digger but she is doing really well on the 2nd round, her play is even better everytime they are against good teams, so I guess people should give her a break. Or not.
Noticeable changes: More attacks on all positions especially the rookies. Better reception (Currently no.1 in comparison to no. 4 last season) and even better blocking.
Worst rotation: Galang-Maraño-Esperanza. I guess, it because Galang is still raw at that time but she proved everyone wrong in their game against UST when Ortiz attack on her end and she blocked her (a boost in confidence) so we will see if this rotation has improved. Galang-Reyes-Gumabao is also risky however, they have Cruz and Maraño. It is a test now if LS rookies will step up the way they did on the UST game.
Best rotation: Cruz-Reyes-Gumabao in the frontline or the Galang-Maraño-Gumabao frontline with Cruz and Gohing at the back.
Regardless whoever wins, this will be a match that everyone needs to watch since the Green and Blue is at it again and this two team will play hard.
i hope ateneo gives la salle that One Big Fight we will never forget..
Goodluck to both teams.. No injuries to anybody please..![]()
DLSU already bought half of the tickets in the Arena for the the Feb. 12 game. They want to populate the Arena with DLSU crowd. I wonder what's the move of ADMU on this?
^ objection, your honor!
may we request the honorable court to have this particular statement be stricken off the record on the ground that it is nothing but hearsay? this has no basis whatsoever. plain and simple Blue fantasy, your honor.

Just for this game, itotodo ko ang pag hiyaw para sa Lady Eagles. I want a Final 4 format. Nothing against the Ladies from Taft. I love Dzi. I love Ara. But on Sunday, OBF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
