1.1. Mechanics

Promo Title: PEx Quiz Night

1) A thread will be opened in the PEx Quiz Night sub-forum under PEx Promos and Games forum.

2) There will be a quizmaster who will post questions.

3) A question will be posted in the promo thread.

4) The first participant who answers the question will get one point and the quiz master will acknowledge the answer.

5) There will also be 3 special questions that will be asked throughout the promo. The first people who can answer these questions will receive 2 points depending on the decision of the quiz master.

6) There will be 20 quiz questions. The promo ends once all 20 quiz questions along with the two special questions are already answered.

7) The top participant with the most number of points wins the quiz night. The person with the most number of points at the end of the quiz night is the winner.

8) Should there be a tie, a tie-breaker question will be asked among those who are in the tie. The first person to answer the question gets the point. The person with the most number of points at the end of the quiz night is the winner.

9) Should a tie involving the first up to the fourth place or further, the first three participants who answered the tie breaker question gets the point. The first person who answered the tie breaker question in this case will receive the first prize.

10) Participants can answer as much as they like but can only have one answer per post.

11) A participant is not allowed to edit their posts.

12) The quiz master will announce the winners at the end of the quiz night as well as the scores of the winners.

13) Participants will be contacted through Private Message in PinoyExchange and will be asked for their real name, mobile phone number, and e-mail. The details will be used to contact the winners as well as verify their identities

14) Answer should be in a different line from additional fillers or messages in the post for the answer to be recognized.

15) Quiz master's decision is final.


How to Join & who are eligible to join:

Registered PinoyExchange members are eligible to join. They must have a PinoyExchange username.
Participants should have a Smart or Globe mobile phone number.
Past winners (1st placers) of 2012 PEx Quiz Nights can join but may not win 1st place.

How to register:

1. Go to www.pinoyexchange.com and click on register. Fill up the form to create an account.
2. Go to your e-mail and click the link provided in the confirmation message.


Provision on invalid entries:

1) Entry has two or more answers.
2) Entries with incorrect answers including misspelled answers will be invalid
3) Edited entries

Prizes:
500 Pesos worth of G-Cash or Smart Money and Whiz Kid pin for the winner.

Runner Up pin for two runner ups

1 Point pins to two randomly selected participants who answered a question correctly


Determination of Winners:
1. At the end of the promo, all points will be tallied.
2. The top participant with the most points wins the promo.
3. The second and third participant with the most points will win as runner ups
3. Should a tie involving the first up to the fourth place or further, the first participants who answered the tie breaker question gets the point.

Requirements to claim prizes:

1. Message of PinoyExchange to winner (text message or print out of direct message)
2. Valid ID
3. Letter of authorization (if applicable)


Validation Process:

1. Winner should present an ID and the congratulatory message from PinoyExchange.
2. ID and user name will be checked from the list of winners and saved screen shots.


Control Measures:

Screenshots of the promo as well as the messages to the winner will be saved for proper documentation.

^ it's actually a question of how fast is your internet

typing is optional especially if you can copy the answer from the net.

^I think many of the questions now do not necessarily need Google. We've tweaked the questions to lessen the use of Google, kasi corny. We've been doing this since December.

Heck, last week, I'm not sure how Google would have helped for most of the questions.

But, really, it's a combination of:
knowledge + speed + luck
