Budget concerns on the side of BBC which I think is very wickity-wack ridiculous unless limited series lang ang ginagawa nila. In fairness for BBC. Medyo, to be fair, ambisyoso din sila gumawa ng mga in-house shows: Casualty, Holby City, EastEnders, Skins at Waterloo Road. If ratings increase for the next season, BBC could possibly consider commissioning more than 3 episodes per season (which was the case for some of their long-running shows).

Torchwood was on the verge of cancellation but because of the sudden ratings growth during Children of Earth, they struck a deal with Starz in a co-production venture.

As for CBS, mataas ang standards nila when it comes to ratings performance for all their shows. Usually they would cancel at least 1 new drama and a 1 veteran drama per season (as with this season's case: CSI Miami, AGM and Unforgettable, the season before: Medium and Miami Medical, and before that: Cold Case and Three Rivers). We'll see how Elementary would fare this fall.

Hmmm. since I'm still downloading the episode, I'll pretend hindi ko ito nabasa

So are you saying that Lucy should have kept her role in White Collar instead?

Watched the leaked episode of CBS' Elementary. Si Patrick Jane (Simon Baker of The Mentalist) naalala ko nung pinanuod ko ang pilot!

I actually find the pilot pretty good, so I'll watch the succeeding episodes. Miller was good as Holmes but I don't like Lucy

a female Watson is not a good idea. (for me)

just watched the pilot. ok naman siya. i think na hindi magtatagal to.

-am gonna see if worth watching pa yung mga future episodes...

After watching the pilot, i felt like this is a watered-down take on Sherlock Holmes. LL was obviously there as a name and eye candy to the show. The case they solved wasn't really interesting and felt it was really rushed to conclusion.

Overall I find it a bit average-ish since I really can't help but compare it to BBC's take.

British kasi si Jonny Lee Miller.

It's easy to dismiss this one especially since the British miniseries is doing so great, but I actually enjoyed it. The first episode was so-so, but it can turn out pretty good as the course of the season run. Love that Miller used his real accent, and Liu us my favorite Angel from the movie franchise, so I'm optimistic about the next few eps. And of course this will be a procedural, it's on CBS.

While one think it's only ideal, but it is indeed possible to like both Elementary and the Sherlock Cumberbatch series.

Count me in for the whole season.

I really enjoyed episode 2, it was better than the pilot. I hope the next episodes are like this. Since BBC Sherlock will be back fall of 2013, Im gonna be stuck with this show for the meantime

Hmmm nag-improve naman yung show but for me it's the typical CBS-cop show, well of course, minus the british accent, nevertheless, i'm keeping this show on my list
