    UP or Ateneo??? :((

Hey guys I need your help! I'm an incoming college freshman this year and i have this dilemma in choosing between UP or Ateneo. I personally wanted to go to Ateneo and my family is all up for it but I can feel that they want me to go to UP to be able to "help" my parents. I passed BS MGT in ateneo (i really wanted to pass ateneo ,so i didnt bother writing any honors course) and BS ECO in UP-D (I didnt really consider UP that much before until I saw the results)

I just need your opinions about the courses, the university and the employment rate the course gives. I know it's a bit too early, but I dunno I'm so confused

Go to Ateneo! That's where you really belong. UP does not need CLUELESS people. Besides SPOON-FEEDING is not a strong point of UP.

Some people just can't stand it when someone else has more inclination towards another school more than UP.

The message you have entered is too short. Please lengthen your message to at least 10 characters.

Honestly TS I'd go for BS Eco in UP. It's one of UP's premiere courses after all, and you got into Diliman pa.

Go for UP. Benefit over cost na rin.

I was shocked by the very hostile first reply. Haha. But yeah, the dude may have a point. Though I hope he realizes that the TS is a kid about to enter college. It's quite a stressful phase. It doesn't hurt to be a little friendly.

Anyway I'd suggest you go to UP, as they are pretty solid in Economics.

I am from UP but choose ATENEO kapag Economics ka lang sa Diliman. I have Econ friends from UP. One works for RCBC, one as a researcher and a college instructor. They have all low paying jobs.

Ateneo has a good economics program, the facilities are better and the student body is great.

UP ka man or Ateneo, I think same lang rin ang job opportunities. Sa Ateneo you'll get a lot of connections as well.

I really believe that even before you made that post you already have a decision in mind and is just looking for affirmation. Personally, just follow what you think will make you grow the best. Years ago, I also asked Pexers (as if they are any smarter than me) for advice. I also got the same range of answers ("UP are only for those who can decide on their own blablabla")

Anyway.. to cut the story short, I ended up in Ateneo. And now I cant even imagine choosing any other school. So far, I have really enjoyed my management subjects. The professors know what they really are saying. And what I like best about the professors is that they really treat their students well.

PS: Should you choose to go to Ateneo, try to have a change of course to ME (just in case you belong to the top 15%)

Oh poor you! It must be painful and miserable for you to go through such a dilemma! But seriously, is the "=((" in the title even necessary? It's almost like a person starting a thread "Cadillac or BMW??? =(("

I think Ateneo provides a better environment that encourages entrepreneurship. You'll have classmates who have their own family business and these people enter the school with a background in business already. You will learn a lot from these people and it will change how you see opportunities around you after you graduate from college.

UP Diliman isn't exactly the best school to learn how to start and manage your own business. The students are smart but the university-wide obsession with getting high grades would affect your determination to take business-related risks in the future.

Goodluck sa UP life!
