Ka generation ko si AVGN o James. Unang experience ko ay mula sa APPLE 2 pa.

Sa mga nasa metro manila, may pictures kayo ng Nes rental shops tulad ng nasa Harrison Plaza at 3rd floor VirraMall?

I wish I did. Naalala ko playing Castlevania 3 doon sa rental shop sa VM, one of the few carts that was never pirated due to the unique VCR6 sound chip. Bought a copy sa Brochiere sa baba after playing it and they never re-stocked it again soon after.

    Still have the cart BTW.

It was the age where nearly every console and game in the Philippines was in Japanese with the exception of games that were already in English even in Japan. Other exceptions were pirate carts that were copied from U.S. carts but those were quite rare.

I remember nung nakpapakopya ako ng disk for the Famicom Disk System at Brochiere. When I copied Japanese Zelda 2, I had to buy three issues of Video Games and Computer Entertainment magazine (I think) that had a detailed walkthrough (hindi ko mabasa yung mga clues eh at walang internet).

Early 70s game where text. I got my first computer when i was 4 amstrad cpc 464, around same era as the Commodore 64. The computer screen had two colors black and green. The games would take 4 or 5 minutes to load and came on cassettes they were mainly platform based the best game i had on this was Rasputin. I next got a Nintendo with console games such as Super Mario Brothers, in my opinion the best 2 games on the Nintendo original where Super Mario Brothers 3 and Wizards and Warriors 3, followed closely by Contra, Street Fighter 2, and Ninja Turtles. We then got a Commodore 64, Atari and Sega Master System. I always prefared the range of games on the Nintendo to the Sega the Sega seemed inferior, and well by the time we got the Atari the graphics were inferior.

Next i got a desktop pc, originally my mum brought it and then after doing several chores and paper runs i purchased it from her for $500. By then it had a CD ROM which was considered brand new at the time and 540mb hdd (even though i used freespace to increase this to nearly 2gb). I had FPS Games like Doom, Doom 2 and Duke Nukem 3D, Strategy such as Civilization 1 and 2, Sim City -2000, Battle Chess etc.., but the games i really liked where the series by Cryo and Virgin Lost Eden and Dragon Lore which were graphically and muscially breath taking for the time and where probably the maximum capacity for the computer system.

My brother then got a playstation which was cool because even then 540mb didnt hold a lot of games so it meant having to constantly install and reinstall. It put some relief on the computer. The PSX ran games equal to or better to the Cryo games in terms of graphics.

Im quite certain with a good emulator, dosbox or installing an old os in a virtual box/virtual pc you could get it to run. Depends really how much you want to replay the game.
