    ID112 din ako.

Was supposed to take IS-J but then my parents suddenly had bitter feelings toward it (dahil sa mga kamag-anak kong madaldal at kung ano-ano ang pinagsasasabi tungkol sa course ko). But now I'm taking IE just because my parents want me to take it. <.<

IE's a good course naman. After one year e malalaman mo naman kung para sayo yung course. If after 2/3 terms e hindi mo mafeel ang IE, then talk to your parents about shifting to IS-J

I can't really blame your parents. Mas marami ang job opportunities sa IE. But at the end of the day, it's not always about the money that you'll earn

Hindi pa nga ako nakakapagpareserve eh Pede kayo akong magpareserve sa Last Day? (April 11).

That's not an excuse. One of my friends graduated Magna Cum Laude (ECE), and he doesn't even know how to get the LCM/GCD of numbers. Tiyaga tiyaga lang yan, bro.

I think bago ka magpareserve is may isusubmit ka munang form regarding dun sa paglipat mo sa IE. Yep, pwedeng pwede ka pang magpaconfirm on the last day.

I suggest you go through with engineering. Iba parin pag engineering, the job prospects are much better.

while its nice to take a course you love, remember that the occupy wall street movement in america started primarily because students took courses they loved but in the end are unemployable.

remember that the weak will take the easy choice or the one that is most convenient to them. it takes strength and courage to go through a harder path -- it is also more rewarding, if only because a lot less people can and are willing to do the same.

How to apply for 2nd term freshmen? mahirap ba pag irregular freshmen?

Haha enjoy talaga sa La Salle. If I can turn back time I'd still choose La Salle. Grade school, high school and grad school doesn't even come close

Welcome to La Salle, party hard, but study even harder!

Salamat sa mga encouragement. Sige IE na kukunin ko.

By the way...ano po yung mga ginagawa sa medical?

Most likely the job you are going to get is unrelated to Japanese studies. Two of my friends who took ISJ are now programmers (as in hardcore/boring programming and not games). I'm not saying that you shouldn't take IS, but it would be for the best if you're aware of the current job market before you decide to enroll

I'd suggest that you look for a course that you love (kahit interest lang) and at the same time a course that will offer you plenty of job opportunities.

Nung HS ako I wanted to take up an arts course but I ended up in a totally different course. Happy naman ako. Actually looking back, I would have probably been miserable had I pursued that course considering the career options available here. I just spend my free time drawing.

Oh, wow.

As far as I know, walang online payment. You can pay through check or through any UCPB or Union Bank branch. Nandito yung process:

    Loob ng campus?!

You can pay by cheque. Or if you want, you can even pay via credit card or atm. Bringing a huge sum of money isn't advisable.

    Graduating IS major here

ISJ teaches you about the Japan behind "cool" and shallow image of Japan that people know. It teaches you why JAPAN IS JAPAN and what makes them so successful and peaceful despite the calamities that have struck them throughout the years (most especially the March 11 2011 tsunami). It also teaches you about the workings of the international arena, and you would actually understand what people are talking about in CNN regarding the sanctions to Syria, territorial disputes, UN deadlocks, and others. IS also decodes the language of the foreign policy and local policy elite, since you will learn about how they make the policies themselves and what they really wish to achieve as they pursue this type of policy. ISJ is a multifaceted course that is usually degraded due to stereotyping and biased assumptions.

In terms of job opportunities, it is hard to get a job that is connected to IS due to the limited opportunities that you have. My OJT had nothing to do with ISJ but I was able to gain several valuable lessons and experiences. My current job applications focus on my Japanese more on the international studies part of my course, pero okay lang sa akin. I love the Japanese language a lot, and interacting with Japanese people, may it be through the phone, internet or face to face interaction, is really fun and interesting for me. Since napag-aralan ko rin why they act like this and like that, naiintindihan ko yung actions nila at alam ko rin kung papaano ako makikihalubilo sa kanya.

After 7 JAPALA courses, you can more or less understand the basics of everyday conversations. If you really work hard on your JAPALA or you study beyond what is given, kaya mo maging conversant talaga or baka maging fluent ka pa. Marami akong kilalang ganyan. Hands down sa laki. If your passion is Japan, the Japanese language, the Japanese people and their culture, then take it. One way or another, kahit hindi international studies related ang trabaho mo, maaapply mo pa rin ang napag-aralan mo.
