    double masters degree. possible?

I can't find a thread like this. this is out of curiosity. possible ba magtake ng dalawang master's program (different university) simultaneously?.

depende ba ito sa School o may memorandum ang CHED? hope may makasagot.

If possible kase, i plan to take 1 online masters degree and the other one is face to face. (plan to be a full time student)

    hope may makasagot.

Bachelor's pwede ba, what they call "Double Major" in the USA although I'm not sure kung meron dito nyan. Siguro pwede through "Cross Enrolment" but don't quote me on it.

Nakakabaliw yan. I'd suggest take one at a time.

Yep, take one at a time... mas habang tumatagal mas maraming natututunan at mas naaappreciate mo yung pinag-aaralan.

actually, it's possible especially if they are both closely related programs. I have met a person who took both MS in Structural Engineering & Geotechnical Engineering in UPD at the same time; and also somebody who took MEng in Structural Engineering & Construction Managemet at PLM at the same time, several years ago. These guys were 'professional students' - i.e. full-time students and not employed.

Emphasis on what sir faux said: FULL TIME and NOT EMPLOYED + RELATED PROGRAM + possible same university. Pero kung magkaiba tapos ibang university, mahihirapan kapa, lalo na sa schedule.

    No; You cannot.

CHED does not allow a student to enroll in two different degree programs (undergrad, grad, postgrad) at two different schools. And, unless the school/university is offering such double degree programs (which are extreemely rare), you cannot take two different degree programs at the same time at the same school. CHED requires that you take it one at a time.

Now, if the other program you intend to take is offered by a foreign school, say the University of London External Program, then that is alright.

^ thank you sa lahat ng mga sumasagot.. any link nga arkhem?

    thank you.

^ I think emphasis is on "External, possibly online," education. There are lots, just look around.

  13. #13
^ so possible kaya if one is thru online and the other one is face-face? tama ba

The sad part about living in a 3rd world country is that, not all government agencies' internal policies can be accessed through the World Wide Web. Nevertheless, the information I shared is trite knowledge. I know some of you are hesitant to believe my information. But I'm willing to be challenged that my information is incorrect.

Again, unless there isn't a double program of two partner schools, CHED won't allow that a student will take two different (or the same) degree programs from two different schools. Go and ask your school registrar and prove me wrong.

The answer to this question is a big, NO. I'm sorry that I have to be the one to break this to you, but there's no way your school will allow you to simultaneously enroll in other school, unless you're saying it's part of the program.

For example, you cannot enroll at ADMU and at UPOU at the same time unless it is part of the curriculum. You cannot enroll at San Beda and CAP College Foundation at the same time. You cannot enroll at DLSU and PWU Online program at the same time. The schools themselves won't allow you to, aside from it's not allowed by CHED. You can enroll at UP Diliman and at the University of London External Program at the same time, however. The Federal University of London is no longer under CHED, and U of L does not restrict their external students to enroll in other universities outside of the United Kingdom. So, even in the UK, no one is allowed to enroll in two different universities simultaneously.

Mapua offers Double Degree in Chemistry and Chemical Engineering and the only triple degree na Biotechnology-ChE-Chem. I dont know kung inoofer pa rin nila yung triple degree. Hinde kasi sila basta tumatanggap ng student sa double and triple degree. Meron ding Straight BS-MS program. pero hinde rin madali makapasok sa program na ito.other than that madali makapsok sa mga BS degree.

By chance, I inquired this to CHED via the Chairperson's Official Email. Here's the reply

So I guess it depends on the school if they're amicable to the idea. Check their handbooks or check out with the university registrar... but as long as the CHED is concerned, they have no policy on the matter.
