Congrats to a wonderful 2011 and now we proceed to another one.
Hoping 2012 can offer more high-quality movies for us its Filipino audience. For now, here are two movies that already have definite playdates:

My Cactus Heart (Maja Salvador and Matteo Guidicelli) - January 25
Unofficially Yours (Angel Locsin and John Lloyd Cruz) - Valentines

Best wishes for these two and other upcoming movies this year.

Star Cinema nagtagumpay sa pakulong walang premiere night!
(Pilipino Star Ngayon) Updated January 03, 2012

No more premiere nights ng mga entries? After all, hindi naman ito requirement ng MMFF Committee.

Anyway, Enteng ng Ina Mo pa rin ang number one at breaking box office records ang movie nila Vic Sotto at Ai Ai de las Alas after New Year’s Day!

    Star Cinema namayagpag sa 2011
RATED A Ni Aster Amoyo (Pilipino Star Ngayon) Updated January 04, 2012

    anu ba?

what do you mean by the technicals? mine would be the sound, lalo na sa mga dialogues hindi na audible.

Music, camera, lighting, editing, set design, costume design-- even yung promo posters etc.

Seriously. I only watch star cinema movies if I think its worth watching.nakakafrustrate manuod ng movie na medyo bakya ang pagkakagawa.

halos lahat ah? iyong editing and camera nasa director din. and also iyong pagkagawa it is because of the limited time lately na ginagawa sa movies dapat ang movie magstart ng promo after the shoot hindi while shooting. hindi iyong may date na hinahabol...

pero among the technicals na may problem na common to much of sc movies is the sound. hindi ko alam kung anong meron sa mic nila or ano man pero nakakaiinis manood ng hindi mo naririnig iyong ibang sinasabi.

Ang pinaka-annoying--and the reason I don't like watching Filipino movies--is because DUBBED 'yung audio.

Nawawala 'yung intended emotions ng actor at the time of filming. Hindi pa natural.

  15. #15

--ONE MORE CHANCE.

Masyado na kasi tayong napagiiwanan when it comes to film making. Magaling tayo sa acting or story--OO. Pero hanggan dun na lang.

i actually knew that lately lang. talaga bang ganyan dapat? i mean wala bang magagawang paraan para hindi maging dubbed.

i may not agree with the story part. i think we lack original and fresh stories in movies puro pareparehas na lang puro remakes, reboots and sequels na umaabot na ng 5th to 10th time. kulang tayo ng scriptwriters. kaya siguro hindi napapansin ang mga filipino drama unlike sa korean drama it is because of the stories. sayang we have comparable or even better actresses pa naman, actors siguro hindi pa.

    Disagree on acting.

Ang acting natin, masyadong OA. Iyakan ng iyakan. Hindi natural.

I haven't watched a lot of indie movies, pero napanood ko 'yung Serbis. That should be the style of acting prevalent in our movies. Pero hindi. Konting dapa, sakit, utot ng character, kailangan may 5-minute close-up ng face umiiyak.

MMFF 2011 umabot sa target na P600M
    SHOW-MY Ni Salve Asis
    Pilipino Star Ngayon
    January 09, 2012
