Vice Ganda on Being Protective of BF's Identity
By ROWENA JOY A. SANCHEZ
March 26, 2012
Manila Bulletin
The in-demand comedian admitted that his celebrity has, at times, taken a toll on his and his beau's long-standing relationship, hindering them from enjoying moments that any normal couple would.
"Nung isang beses nga, nag-uusap kami, 'Ang saya nating dalawa 'no?' sabi niyang gano'n. 'Ang saya nating dalawa 'pag magkasama, naghaharutan tayo. Pero ang tagal na nating nakakulong dito sa kuwartong 'to sa bahay,'" Vice shared in his taped birthday interview on "The Buzz," March 25.
Asked to elaborate on what he meant by "nakakulong," Vice said, "Kasi sabi niya, 'Hindi natin ma-experience 'yung magmo-mall tayo, manonood tayo ng sine tapos naghaharutan tayo, magka-akbay tayo.'
His playful, sometimes coquettish exchanges with male celebrities on national TV—which according to Vice are for the audience "para may kilig factor, 'yung nakakatawa"—has also posed challenges in their relationship.
Nararamdaman niya," the box-office Kapamilya star admitted.
He went on to recall, "Naloka ako isang beses bigla na lang siyang nasa 'Showtime.'
Although he did not reveal the identity of the celebrity that had seemingly perturbed his quiet relationship with his boyfriend, Vice quipped with a laugh, "Totoo din naman kasi."
Vice has been an open book for the most part, save for matters concerning his heart. Rumormongers attempt to put a name and a face to his lover, linking him to basketball players—most recently to Far Eastern University star cager Terrence Romeo—but the stand-up comedian has dispelled all the speculations.
Interestingly, in a fast talk segment of his "Buzz" interview, Vice gushingly chose basketball when Boy Abunda asked what he prefers between the former and football.
As Vice turns 36 on March 31, he wishes not for any material gain, but to get a glimpse of his beloved lola, who passed away New Year's Eve of last year.
His mother is currently in the States, Vice disclosed, but she wants to return to the Philippines because she lost her job after she returned to the country last year to bring Vice's lola home. His mom hopes to own a simple grocery store.
Meanwhile, Vice is thrilled that Angel Locsin wants him to be her leading man in a project.
He's even willing to play a straight guy opposite Angel "basta masaya 'yung project, kahit ano 'yung role ko…"

Jules posted this photo on Twitter account last March 24
with the caption, '@kc_concepcion you looked great last night.
I looked burnt. x' (Photo courtesy of Jules Knight's Twitter account)
It happened during the group’s guest appearance on March 25 in the noontime variety show, “ASAP 2012,” of which KC is regular host and performer.
During the short interview with KC and Martin Nievera after Blake’s performance, Martin asked Jules, “Let’s play a game. Let’s just say for the sake of argument, you had a crush in the Philippines. Today, let’s spell crush [as] k-c-r-u-s-h. Let’s say she was here right now, what would you say to your crush?”
Turning to the female host, Jules said, “I do actually have a question for you. One second,” and kneeled, surprising KC.
“I was gonna ask you, will you have dinner with me?” he asked.
Flustered, KC quipped, “What is this, sinet-up ako ng ‘ASAP 2012.’ ‘ASAP 2012,’ ha.
“For my ‘ASAP’ Kapamilyas, maybe. ‘Maybe’ talaga?” she replied, laughing.
To this, Blake said, “I’ll take that, I’ll take that.”
In an interview with Bulletin Entertainment during a press conference for their series of performances at Ayala Malls last week, Jules said that he met KC last year through magazine editor Anton San Diego during the group's first Manila show in October.
“We all had a lovely evening with her at probably what is the best night club in Manila, The Establishment. She’s a fantastic girl and I’d love to get to know her better,” he was quoted as saying.
He added, “I know she’s an absolute legend here, and when we met her we didn’t know how famous she was, but she’s a lovely girl and I know she’s a national treasure…”
Meanwhile, KC and Jules exchanged a couple of tweets on Twitter just recently, with the latter even addressing her as “mahal” in one post.
MANILA, Philippines – Actor Xian Lim joins fellow celebrities Sharon Cuneta, Kris Aquino and boxing icon Manny Pacquiao as the latest endorser of McDonald’s.
The fast-food giant debuted its latest commercial with Lim on Saturday at a press conference.
In the TV ad to promote McDonald’s latest summer refreshments, Lim even sings the jingle, a slower re-arrangement of the hit song “Walking on Sunshine” by Katrina and the Waves.
Lim said he is thrilled to be chosen as a McDonald’s endorser. He even shared that he once won a Halloween costume contest in McDonald’s when he was a boy.
“It was very unexpected,” he said about being an endorser for the global brand. “I was actually nervous the first time we has a meeting.”
But for McDonald’s, Lim is the perfect choice since the actor “exudes positivity.”
“What we normally do is we look at the research to see who are the celebrities who are popular,” said Margot Torres, vice president for marketing and communications of McDonald’s Philippines, adding that the company was looking for a “rising star.”
“We make sure that the celebrity is consistent with our brand positioning,” Torres said.

SPOTTED: Ai-Ai delas Alas...with her "babe"?
Rommel R. Llanes
Thursday, March 29, 2012
Is this Ai-Ai delas Alas's new boyfriend? In an interview with The Buzz,
the comedienne did not mention the man's name but gave him a code:
"FPJ" of "Feeling Parang Jowa."
“Kailangan maging masaya tayo,” sabi pa ng 47-year-old comedian.
by Ogie Diaz
Friday, March 30, 2012
Pinoy Parazzi
How time flies, ‘no?
May sense kausap.
Love ko ‘yan, ‘no! Go!
At sasabihin, ganu’n talaga.
Sabi niya, “Sino kasama mo?” Sabi ko, wala. “Sige, samahan kita.” Na-Charo Santos Conscious tuloy ako that time.
Galit ako sa EP that time.
Pero eventually, sakto rin ‘yung tsikang time heals all wounds.
Reconciliation. All’s well that ends well ang drama.
In denial nga lang.
Huh? Naka-move on na, pero in denial pa rin? Hahaha! Ang gulo ba?
O, basta.

The music video of the Choose Philippines campaign, “Piliin Mo Ang Pilipinas,” has gone viral, enjoying huge viewership on YouTube. The music video depicts the more than 7,000 islands in the country as well as the colorful fiesta celebrations and world-class travel destinations here.
Angeline Quinto and Vince Bueno sang the theme song of Choose Philippines, which was given an outstanding reinterpretation by “Pilipinas Got Talent” finalist El Gamma Penumbra.
Different versions
According to "TV Patrol," March 28, the music video has inspired several versions done by schools, dance and theater groups, one of which is Batangas State University’s adaptation that showcases Filipino culture to visiting Korean exchange students.
Another one features a choir from Mandaluyong City that even did a new musical arrangement for “Piliin Mo ang Pilipinas.”
In one video, a Filipino delegation in the 38th Ship for Southeast Asian Youth Programme 2011 performed the song. They even encouraged youth leaders from different Asian countries like Japan, Thailand and Cambodia to dance and sing with them to the tune of “Piliin Mo ang Pilipinas.”
The song started as a simple way of showcasing the beauty of the Philippines. But the theme song of "Choose Philippines" paved the way for Filipino youth to express their appreciation of our country, the report noted.
'Corazon' lords over PH box office
By JULIEN MERCED C. MATABUENA
March 29, 2012
Local horror film “Corazon: Ang Unang Aswang” claimed the top spot in local box office over the weekend, besting the recently-released worldwide hit, “The Hunger Games.”
According to Box Office Mojo, an affiliate of the Internet Movie Database (IMDb), “Corazon,” which hit theaters on March 14, grossed a total of P 10,441,210 during the latest box office weekend tally (March 21-25). The Star Cinema-produced flick debuted at second place with P 20,517,124, bringing its total earnings to P 40,421,214.
On the other hand, Pioneer’s “Hunger Games,” which opened last March 22, was at third spot with P 6,205,172. Internationally, the Gary-Ross helmed flick is at number one with more than P 6.5 billion earnings.

By NR RAMOS
March 29, 2012
Gabby Concepcion has signed with ABS-CBN for a new TV series that would have him working with both Andi Eigenmann and Iza Calzado.
Although he said that he is in the dark as to when the series will air, Concepcion divulged that principal shooting will commence in April.
Concepcion was succinct in giving reason for accepting the project, relating that he simply liked the script. He went on to praise the network giant for being able to come up with beautiful stories for their viewers.
In the same interview, Concepcion announced that he is going to be a father again courtesy of his new wife Genevieve Gonzalez, who is pregnant and is set to give birth in July.
He said that he already informed ABS-CBN about it and that they have already adjusted his taping schedules for the aforementioned soap relating to the same.
Gonzales’ pregnancy is also the reason the long-awaited movie that he was supposed to do with his ex-wife Sharon Cuneta had been put on hold for next year.
Concepcion said he personally requested to defer the project as he wanted to be with his wife in the coming months.
Concepcion, who already has four daughters from four different women, was non-committal when asked if he is hoping for a baby boy this time. He simply said that he is excited with the prospect of being a father again.
Meanwhile, the 47-year-old also commented on reports concerning her daughter, KC Concepcion supposedly dating anew. According to Concepcion, he could only be too happy now that his daughter has finally moved on from her breakup with actor Piolo Pascual.
