    The 2012 Book Challenge

First, congratulations to PExers who have accomplished the 2011 book challenge. With 2011 almost over let's start a new list of books that you will be reading this 2012.

It always pays to read even if 2012 is supposedly the end of mankind.

As for me right now here are the stuff on my table head board:

    (a) The Man Game
    (b) Who moved my Cheese?
    (c) Onward: How Starbucks Fought for Its Life Without Losing Its Soul

  2. #2
dahil 2012 na, i-angat na natin ang challenge. 100 book challenge na

  3. #3
Easy ka lang, 60 books lang muna.

nakakalula ba yung 100? 8-9 books lang yun a month

  6. #6
habang 2011 pa lang, let's settle the rules.

here's my question: dapat ba allowed ang audiobook? or ebook/physical books lang?

^As long as you digest its content, then audiobook is welcome. You don't exactly have to read. (This isn't a competition so there's no used to being too uptight with rules)

@yakibuke, you do understand that some are full-time students/ employee and we also need some social life during the weekends so 8-9 books a month is not feasible for the most of us.

I read 37 books sa 2011 challenge (see other thread).

    I'm in! Pano ba ito?

Read more or less 25 books this year, considering it was a very busy year for me. I'm looking to expand this 2012.

    nadadayaan. hmmm.

If you normally finish a book in 3 days then I applaud you cos it's a skill very few has. But for most everyone else 50 books is already demanding just as the other thread shows only 2 of you reached 50. 100 books for most is plain crazy and you'd hardly appreciate what you read unless you plan to spend 2012 bumming around, or your goal is to master speed-reading. Why rush and pressure yourself to read faster than your normal pace. For me it beats the purpose of reading which is to gain enjoyment. We read for fun don't we? Rushing books isn't fun, not for me, (but who knows, maybe to some it is.)

I agree. Mas challenging para sa'kin ang audiobook. Hirap pa minsan kung mahaba/complikado yung sentences, o pag di ganong magaling yung narrator.

...for that reason (also cos I read at a snail's pace ) I decline for now (might join later). If I'd suggest though you guys should stick to 50-60 considering very few reached it, and to up the challenge how's a 6-10 sentence review per book? Proof that somehow you understood what you have read, ant to practice writing. Shouldn't be so hard.

^Nice idea. It discourages people from just posting book titles even if they have yet to read them. And it will generate more activity in this subforum.

Again, this is only a challenge not a competition with your fellow PExers. If you finished 100, then good but let's keep a more realistic goals for the rest of us who are also busy with some other things. 50 is already hard, what more twice that.

Listening to audio books is not as easy as you might think, you'll be forced into the narrator's pace and if the audio book's quality isn't good, you might be repeating certain parts to make out what the narrator is saying.

  19. #19
Challenge is still 50 books but no one's stopping you if you wish to read twice that.

    1. Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban - J.K Rowling

    Review:

Ngayon nasa ikatlong libro na ko and what can i say?
