Samsung Galaxy S3 vs HTC One X vs iPhone 4S
The Samsung Galaxy S3 is here. It's big, it's bold and it's probably going to be one of the best-selling phones of the year. But how does it compare with the HTC One X and the iPhone 4S?
We've dug into the spec sheet, fondled the phone itself and mused deeply on what a smartphone is to find out. Here's what we found…
Samsung reveals new flagship Galaxy smartphone
Samsung Electronics Co.'s latest Galaxy phone will have a high-definition touch screen that's nearly twice the size of the iPhone, while being thinner and lighter than Apple's phone.
The Galaxy line has emerged as the biggest competitor to the iPhone. Samsung said the Galaxy S III will go on sale in Europe on May 29 and in the U.S. this summer. The Korean company showed off the phone Thursday at an event in London.
Like previous Galaxy phones, the S III will run Google Inc.'s Android software. The processor, or "brains" of the device, will be upgraded to include four computing cores. The iPhone and most other high-end phones are "dual-core," but there are some quad-core devices on sale already.
Kelan kaya magiging Php 20K ang halaga nito?![]()
the galaxy s2 is on sale at P25T now, so the S3 will probably be sold at around P30T
^ ganda ng pinakitang features! wala! LOL
There isn't much new with the hardware aside from the quad core processor but there are a lot of new features they've included as part of their Samsung TouchWiz.
Eye tracking
Direct Call
Pop up play
NFC
and more!

I think problem ito ng Android OS and not hardware specs.

Galaxy S3: Quad-core and still has laggy experience
In terms of system responsiveness, it is good, but not “groundbreaking” when compared to other fast Android handsets. I think that this is mainly an Android “thing”, so there’s not much that Samsung can do about this. Android 4.0 improved the UI responsiveness by quite a bit, but in my opinion, iOS and Windows Phone are still more responsive to user input.

Im disappointed with the SIII ang pangit ng design! Tas plastic build pa..
may 29 irerelease yan kasi kita dun sa big screen nakalagay europe at kasali southeast asia.
intro price niyan nasa 34k pesos.
Same here. It has become tackier with the shiny 'metallic' frame and the shape of the phone itself is not pleasing to the eyes (ironic since they're trying to market it as "designed for humans").
Design looks outdated- like how touch-screen smartphones would look if they were made in the 80's.
sabi ng iba pangit ang design, i will judge later pag nakita ko na sa personal at mahawakan ko. baka kasi yung tipong pangit sa pics o vids lang pero iba pag hawak mo na talaga.
here's a good round-up as to why to buy:

2 days pa lang dumaan at parang gumaganda view ko sa unit na to even with the so called ugly design daw na comments ng mga di pa naman nakahawak.
iba kasi pag hq at close up ang vids.

I wonder if these cool new features of the S3 draws a lot of power from the battery as they need to always be on stand by.!
the only way to judge the design is to actually hold the cell in your hand.
if it will be here by may 29, that's pretty quick
^ I've played with the phone. Indeed, beauty is in the eye of the beholder. But this phone is just plain ugly-looking.
Samsung can't seem to shake off its phones' tacky-cheap look and feel. I've seen other phones where plastic is used and they did a great job in the look-and-feel department.
I don't find the S2 ugly so I don't think Samsung will make this ugly. the only thing with the S2 is that it's large. the iPhone size is really the best size.
but maybe it's just getting used to it.
Does Samsung’s Galaxy S III Smartphone Even Need Quad-Core Power?
May 3, 2012
The benefits of a quad-core design sound great on paper. But while both Samsung and Nvidia are promising that their respective quad-core chips will turn our gadgets into power-sipping, high-performing computational beasts, industry experts are saying that it will take months, and maybe even years, for the silicon to realize its full potential.
The benefits that can be seen today – speediness in navigating through an operating system, better battery life and improved multitasking stability — are quad-core advantages that most consumers might not even notice without directly comparing dual-core devices and quad-core devices side-by-side. And, so far, very few apps are being built with quad-core processors in mind.
“The key thing for quad-core is that you need the software to make it work,” said Linley Gwennap, principal analyst at the Linley Group research firm. “If the software is optimized for dual-core processors and not quad-core, you won’t see the benefit.”
