I can't understand yung plans sa Globe website for S3. When you click "renew contract" there are two categories to choose from, either MySuperPlan Unlisurf Combo or My SuperPlan. Say I choose Plan 999 of MySuperPlan Unlisurf, it says ang "total monthly fee" is 1,699. While if I choose the Plan 999 of My Super Plan, the "monthly cash out" is 700. What's the difference between total monthly fee and monthly cash out? And how come 700 lang ang monthly cash out for Plan 999?

I hope someone can enlighten me Thank you

  2. #282
    compute mo.

yung isa 1699 and yung isa 999 pero may additional 700 ... equal lang sila

  3. #283
^Yeah, thanks. I just clarified it with Globe CS now. Based pala yun if staggered payment yung cash out. Pero if you're going to pay for the cash out in cash/lump sum, 999 lang talaga.

Samsung wins court case against Apple because it's 'not as cool'
    July 9, 2012 10:41pm

LONDON—Samsung Electronics defeated Apple in the latest spat in the rivals' patent wars when a British judge ruled Samsung's Galaxy tablets did not infringe the US company's designs for the iPad because they were "not as cool."

In Monday's High Court judgment, Judge Colin Birss said that Samsung's Galaxy tablets belonged to the same family as the Apple design when viewed from the front, but the Samsung products were "very thin, almost insubstantial members of that family with unusual details on the back."

"They do not have the same understated and extreme simplicity which is possessed by the Apple design. They are not as cool," he said. "The overall impression produced is different."

The victory for Samsung comes days after a US appeals court lifted a freeze on sales of its Galaxy Nexus smartphones, although it upheld a lower court's decision to temporarily halt sales of its Galaxy 10.1 tablet.

The two companies are waging legal battles in about 10 countries, accusing each other of patent infringement as they vie for supremacy in the mobile device market.

Samsung welcomed the British High Court judgment, which it said affirmed its own intellectual property rights while respecting those of other companies.

"Should Apple continue to make excessive legal claims in other countries based on such generic designs, innovation in the industry could be harmed and consumer choice unduly limited," Samsung said in a statement.

Apple said it had no comment on Monday's judgment, but it reiterated its view on the South Korean company's designs.

"It's no coincidence that Samsung's latest products look a lot like the iPhone and iPad, from the shape of the hardware to the user interface and even the packaging," the company said.

"This kind of blatant copying is wrong and, as we've said many times before, we need to protect Apple's intellectual properties when companies steal our ideas." — Reuters

@ jordan_rules / Larry - that's great if I can still retain my old number. But im using prepaid sim only (Suncell). Pwede pa rin kaya yun?

Na-try nyo na gamitin yung microsim sa phone that requires a regular simcard? Paano po ang ginawa nyo?

If you are postpaid it does seem much better to request for a microsim but since you are postpaid you can retain the same number ( I should have asked about this before so I would not have had to change my number hehe , akala ko kasi regular sim to regular sim lang pwede ang number transfer)

Kung prepaid microsim it is just P40++ to P50++ sa Globe and Smart.

Prepaid lang ang gamit ko bro. Try ko ask sa Suncell kung pwede rin sa kanila magpa-cut. Or if not, kahit na yung sa pag-retain na lang ng number. Wait, yang bang pagre-request sa Smart or Globe to retain your number (from ordinary sim to microsim) is kelangan sa kanila mo din bibilhin yung unit (S3)?

Thanks guys for your inputs. Sorry medyo maraming tanong..

xyphrus: Same with dave19, yung pinagcutan ng regular sim ko, pinasok ko lang ulit dun yung microsim ko and it will work as a regular sim. Dito samin we have what they call "microsim adapter", made of plastic siya at dun mo iinsert yung microsim mo to convert to regular sim, but I live outside Pinas. I am positive meron din yan sa Greenhills.

  7. #287
@xyphrus pwede naman sim only. Yun nga lang kung prepaid I'm not sure if they can transfer the number from regular sim to microsim. No harm in asking them though.

  8. #288
^ sa Smart, pwede pa-transfer 'yung same prepaid number from regular sim to microsim @P40...

speaking of sim, magkaka-problem ba ako if 32K microsim ang gagamitin ko sa SIII? coz i'm currently using a 32K regular sim and according to Smart, they can only transfer it to a 32K microsim...i just want to make sure na wala hassle before ako mag-purchase ng unit...hehe..

also, ano ba recommended na class ng micro sd for SIII?

    thanks!

@mommyta my Globe microsim is 128 XL. How this compares to the 32K of Smart I'm not 100% sure but if I were to hazard a guess I would say that it is a lot faster (in that it allows faster data speeds needed for Globe's Tattoo mobile network).

Regarding Micro Sd I've read from forums that for Samsung Galaxy Android phones, particularly the top tiered ones, it would be best to get a Class 10 micro sd, either Sandisk or Transcend. They'll need to be genuine too, as Class A cards just won't cut it.

    alright! thanks thanks!

  13. #293
@gxy22 you're welcome. Bought it from Data Venture, basement level SM Manila. I think you can also buy similar micro sd cards at Parksquare Makati or perhaps Megamall (?). 64 GB micro sd Class 10 are available but will have to be purchased online ( have no direct experience with this, just read about it elsewhere).

Thanks for that info. I hope meron na ngang microsim adapter dito sa Pinas, para pwede pa rin magamit yung microsim mo sa ibang phone that requires a regular simcard. Saan ba ang location mo ngayon if you don't mind?

Dito lang sa KL. Actually nagkalat dito yung mga microsim adapters na yan na parang mabibili na lang kung saan saan. I think meron talaga sa Greenhills, di naman siguro sila papahuli.

    1. Better keyboard - easier to type, keys also look more greyish than blue, increase of space between keys

    2. Brighter screen

    3. Better battery life - some users actually report their phones can last 2.5 days. On my phone, I've been using it for more than 24 hours (little wifi, little 3g, texting, calling , etc.) and it still has 40% charge left.
How can I get this update? Ever since my micro SIM got activated and I had connection to the network, I don't recall getting a prompt from Samsung for an update.

I just noticed that my phone's battery got very warm after I downloaded several apps this morning. Have you noticed this too?

What other battery life-saving tips do you have?

Is it advisable to turn off the Mobile Data when on stand-by?

Sorry kung newbie questions ito ha. I'm new to Android phones kasi.

You get it over the air. Install Samsung Kies on your pc/laptop and connect your S3 then get the update through Kies.

I wouldn't get my hopes up. Siguro 1 month, and I'm being generous. Personally through experience, more than one month na and wala pa ring tawag sa akin.
