John Lloyd Cruz says Christmas is the time to enjoy being a child at heart

It’s so easy to be put down by negative intrigues, but John Lloyd Cruz said that he brings magic into his life by spending time with kids and finding ways to keep himself happy through simple things. “Magic is very hard to find. Nung bata ka mas madali maniwala sa magic. But now, especially during Christmas season, it’s easy to find that magical moment every now and then. A very simple event na pwedeng ma-define yung magic is a couple of kids came to my home recently. They’re from this foundation I visited years ago. And then I saw them again. That’s a magical moment for me. It reminds you to be simple and be a child again. Napakasimple. It gave me a warm feeling nung nakita ko yung mga bata,” John Lloyd told Push.com.ph during a press con for one of his major endorsements.

The sought-after actor is very family-oriented and often spends his free time bonding with his loved ones by throwing big parties for them. But this coming Christmas vacation is extra special for John Lloyd because they’re all going away for a trip and he might bring along Shaina Magdayao. “When I say family, lahat ‘yan pamilya sa father side ko. So this season talagang madali lang para sa akin maramdaman or bumalik [sa pagkabata ko]. In fact, I have big plans for myself, for my family, including all my nieces and nephews, even my mom kasama. We are going to a trip. So I think it’s going to bring out the child in me there. Ang dami naming batang kasama so I’m really excited. In that sense, feeling ko magandang regalo yun, magandang pagkakataon sa akin na maging bata ulit and be around kids na relatives ko.”

Knowing how close he is to his kin, Push.com.ph also asked him if there’s pressure for him to settle down and raise his own family soon. Although he’s not ready yet for such a lifetime commitment, John Lloyd was confident enough that he would make a good family man in the future. “Actually, wala pa, wala pang ganong klaseng pressure [mula sa mga relatives ko]. Actually, maganda yung parang napapaisip ako tuloy, how I will raise my own family because nakita ko yung pamilya ko e, nakita ko kung paano kami pinalaki. Hindi siya madaling trabaho. Pero if you think about it, I still have time I guess. I am 28 years old now. I’ve been discovering a lot of good things about myself, about my surroundings especially involving my family. Tingin ko naman I have a good foundation. It’s a good start,” he beamed.

Angel Locsin, on the other hand, is grateful not only for her notable acting stints but also for her love life. Even controversial actor John Lloyd Cruz remains as the country’s top endorser despite the bad press about his personal affairs late this year. With that, each one of them is looking forward to some rest and relaxation this Christmas time.

John Lloyd Cruz will also be spending Christmas with his family by going out of town for a few days. “Traditionally dito lang naman kami kapag Christmas Eve. Christmas day, in between Christmas and New Year, ita-try ng buong family naming maging kakaiba. Baka umalis muna kami for a few days.”

[spoiler start]Zanjoe Marudo[spoiler end] and Bea Alonzo revealed that they will be out of the country for Christmas and New Year. “Pupunta kami sa New York together sa Christmas vacation hanggang New Year dun kami.”
