    Luis Alandy.

I want Felix with Melissa, is that bad? I don't see any chemistry between Bianca and Gabby.

Bianca King : The Long Journey to Stardom

Sometimes an aspiring talent needs to wait for a long time before getting their big break in the world of showbiz. In some cases when you see yours batchmates achieving stardom while you are still relegated to the sideline, then that wait even seems to become a bit longer and probably a bit painful. This is true in the case of Bianca King.

In the summer of 2004 when the fantaserye fad was still new and the two major stations was competing for the next big fantaserye after Marina, there came a hit TV series that would redefine the viewing landscape of Philippine television. It was a hit that would eventually propel most of its lead stars into stardom.

From the studios of GMA came MULAWIN, the fantaserye that raised the level of the genre itself. Because of its popularity and huge following of viewers it automatically made household names of its lead stars. Among them are Angel Locsin, Richard Gutierrez and Dennis Trillo which needless to say became the premiere talents of their mother studious in the years to come.

As Angel, Richard and Dennis rose to fame their was another actress who also played a lead part in the series. Her name is Bianca King and she played the role of Aviona. With her included the main cast is completed and the rest is TV history.

After MULAWIN ended it seems like Bianca King would also followed in the steps of the three main cast as a premiere talent of the station. Unfortunately this would not be the case for her. As the others enjoyed the perks of their new found fame, it seems like she was the only one left behind. And for years she was actually left behind, waiting and dreaming that someday her big break will be given to her.

As the years gone by Bianca was relegated to supporting roles on TV series and movies. While her Mulawin co-stars get to pick the projects of their choices, her career is undeniably going nowhere. For some artist this is already a sign that maybe this is not the right career choice for them. However for Bianca her choice is to endure, her choice is to stay with the business.

After more than seven years her perseverance finally paid off. Her mother studio finally took notice of her. The first really big break that they gave her is to do the directorial chores for a music video of an upcoming singer Frencheska Farr. Having able to finish her collegiate studies Bianca showed she is up to the challenge of being a director. Perhaps her decision to study to become a director is motivated by the idea that if she can’t make it as an actress, then she might just make it as a director. The music video was a critical success and while Bianca seems to be headed for a career behind the cameras her fortunes suddenly made a quick turn.

From directing she was then given important supporting roles in high-profile TV series. And after that she was finally given a lead role in an afternoon TV drama entitled Sinner or Saint. Sinner or Saint scored high with the viewers and it showed Bianca’s potential as a dramatic actress. However this is not enough to make her a household name and one of GMA premiere leading ladies. The series that would finally elevate her to stardom is the follow-up drama Broken Vow.

This very edgy drama captured the attention of the whole viewing nation. With an intriguing storyline and outstanding acting from the entire cast the show was able to depict a realistic story that is usually considered as taboo in TV dramas. This series became one of the biggest hit in TV this year.

And as Broken Vow bids farewell I can not help the similarities between the two series that Bianca King participated. Mulawin gave rise to the stardom of its lead stars, while Broken Vow because of its huge success will probably give a boost to the careers of not just Bianca, but those of Gabby Eigenmann and Luis Alandy as well. All three of them are artist that can be considered as late bloomers in their careers.

The irony in the life story of Bianca King is while her rise as star came quite late, it is somewhat weird that as she slowly rise up, her three co-stars in Mulawin are seemingly on the decline for their respective careers. Richard Gutierrez, Dennis Trillo and even Angel Locsin seems to be waning down on their popularity lately in my own opinion.

Maybe that’s the story of Bianca. Left behind while the others around her took flight. She could only look up at them wondering when she will be able to fly as well. Her time to fly has finally come. The irony is this time she will look down and realize that the people she use to look up at are now the ones looking up at her.

Gabby Eigenmann : Telenovelas Ultimate PSYCHO

Gabby Eigenmann is not a newcomer to Pinoy showbiz. In fact he has appeared in a lot of telenovelas and films throughout his roughly fifteen year career. Most of the time he only plays a minor supporting role, something that is quite odd especially if you realize that Gabby comes from the prominent showbiz clan of the Eigenmann’s.

The Eigenmann’s is known as one of the biggest showbiz family in the Philippines. From their grandparents to the the grandchildren you can you can view them as some sort of showbiz royalty. It is no surprise that most of them always ends up as a leading lady or a leading man whenever they suit up for a film or TV project. The clan after all has been blessed with the natural good looks that makes them a priority considerations for most lead parts.

So when Gabby entered showbiz, it was a bit of a shock that he was never considered as a leading man material. Instead he played bit roles one after another while seeing his relatives play the lead. He did this for years to come, and even after a decade he continued to just take supporting roles waiting perhaps for the right role that will propel him to another level.

His waiting paid off when last year he landed a role in the massive-hit telenovela Munting Heredera. It was a minor role like the stuff that was always given to him in previous projects. However because of his excellent portrayal of a conniving and ambitious nephew Desmond, this minor role was expanded and from there Gabby’s career skyrocketed. To a lot of viewer’s of Munting Heredera he was the most hated character ever to be seen on TV. It was effective portrayal of a villain on the verge of madness at its finest.

In his current role as Roberto Sebastian in the telenovela Broken Vow, he was again able to display an uncanny affinity to the role of a character on the edge of insanity. Perhaps his natural looks is somewhat of an advantage when it comes to playing such roles. Gabby has that typical guy-next-door look. His not too handsome that it will make him less believable if he plays villainous role. He is also not too far off that you would want to switch to another channel whenever his face is shown on TV. In short he can both portray good and evil roles because it fits his looks perfectly. In Broken Vow that shift from Dr.Jekyll to Mr.Hyde and vice versa is flawless.

With every lines he is able to deliver spine-tingling suspense to the viewers. Indeed I boldly predict that Gabby’s performance in this series should earn him the nod of the award giving bodies for acting excellence for this year.

To describe his portrayal is like watching a wolf in a sheep’s clothing as it becomes obsessed by its desires to get what it wants. His acting can really give you the creeps. You can end up hating this person for his accurate portrayal of a lunatic, but there is no denying that he is one exceptional actor.

There are many actors who played villain roles in various telenovelas. Each of them trying to become as detestable as possible. The character of a madman has been seen dozens of times. I can say that Gabby is one of those who can really played the role at a world-class caliber. For me he is right now he is the Pinoy Telenovela’s Ultimate PSYCHO, and one of local showbiz most gifted actor.

This is one great soap.

Gabby at Luis are really good actors. Si Bianca still needs to improved sa acting pero at least ngayon ay napapansin na siya ng GMA.

Best wishes to the three of them at sa lahat ng involve sa BROKEN VOW.... Good Work at CONGRATS .
