    FOR DEVELOPERS

Windows Phone Marketplace now accepting app submissions for Philippines, five other countries
By Zachary Lutz posted Jan 8th 2012 1:10AM

It wasn't long ago that the Windows Phone Marketplace hit 50,000 unique titles, and very soon, developers may find themselves with a whole lot more exposure. Microsoft's virtual store is expanding once again -- this time to Argentina, China, Indonesia, Malaysia, Peru and the Philippines. While it's not yet live in these countries, proactive developers may submit their apps now to benefit from early certification. Practically speaking, this also enables Microsoft to have its "shelves" fully stocked come opening day. So, unless you're an odd duck who doesn't like more money, the time seems ripe to get those apps submitted.

    FREE APP

    My people

My people allows you to have contacts in your phone but not in your Live account.
I'm sure a lot of Windows Phone users want to have contacts such as their landlord or their favorite pizza restaurant in their phone but they don't want to see them in their Live account (personally I don't want to).
My people is here for you. It reproduces exactly the behavior of the People Hub of your Windows Phone except for Facebook/Live feeds and pictures (who wants a picture of its landlord in its phone?).

My people includes a Skydrive import/export to be able to restore your contacts on another phone.

You can also pin contacts on your home screen to access them easily.

    Give it a try today!!

Samsung’s ChatON app coming to Windows Phone 7 also.
    Update: Or maybe not
    January 7, 2012 | By Surur

It should never really have been a question, given that Samsung also manufactures Windows Phone 7 handsets, but at the time of its announcement Windows Phone 7 was conspicuous in its absence from the list of supported operating systems for Samsung’s proprietary cross-platform chat client.

According the TNW however Samsung, who has just released their iOS client for the service, will also soon release a version of Windows Phone 7 and Blackberry, and that the software is already in development.

The software already has between 100,000 and 500,000 installs on Android, and given the success Samsung has been having recently in the smartphone arena, selling around 35 million handsets in the last quarter, this number will likely just increase, which makes it important for Windows Phone 7 users not to be excluded from another growing network.

Update: or maybe not. Contrary to TNW’s report, ChatON on Facebook says they currently have no plans to develop for WP7.

When releasing the phone in the US market, the company declared the devices would contain exclusive content and a variety of EA games.

Skype app for Windows Phone coming soon
    Written by Andre Yoskowitz @ 14 Jan 2012 20:37

According to Skype's VP of products Rick Osterloh, a Skype app for Windows Phone devices is coming soon.
The exec noted that the company is actively "working on a Windows Phone product that will be coming out soon," after being asked during CES.

Microsoft, which now owns Skype, has kept updates on the video/voice calling service quiet since the acquisition. The company had initially called for a late 2011 release date for the app, but that timeline passed without any mention.

The Verge says, through its own sources, that the initial Skype 1.0 app will not be fully featured. The "deep" Windows Phone integrated app will not come until Microsoft updates the operating system to "Apollo," which is likely Windows Phone 7.6.

Although Osterloh would not go further than to say "soon," the company is likely to show off the app at next months Mobile World Congress event in Spain.
