    75 Greatest UAAP Players: 1938-2013

Posted this topic in gameface.ph (for trolls don't even attempt to join).

Yun nga, next year will be the UAAP's 75th Anniversary so this list might be a good tribute.

    Criteria:

    1) Male basketball player who played for UAAP (sorry Lim Eng Beng, you played when DLSU is in the NCAA).

    2) Focus is more on the basketball career in college rather in the pros (so Danny I despite being a legend in the pros will not make it in the list).

Here is the preliminary list from gameface.ph. Sa mga matatanda, sino kilala nyo mga players noong panahon niyo?

si olsen racela like danny ildefonso just made it big in the pro's. pero tingin ko baka malagay din dito si Gregg Slaughter just like Shaquille O'neal was a late addition to the 50 greatest players in the NBA on its 50th year.

    1.Jun Reyes - 2 time MVP (1987, 1988)
    2.Rich Alvarez - 2 time MVP (2000, 2001)
    3.Enrico Villanueva -1 time MVP (2002)
    4.Rabeh Al Hussaini - 1 time MVP (2008)

^ Will all due respect, taga UP ako so mga tagaUP lang kilala ko so I am just asking the people here kung sino pa alam niyo. Ang naabutan ko lang ay sina Toti Almeda, Bornancin and Larry Fonacier (matanda na ako pero bata pa rin sa iba).

    Need info from other people.

NU na team captain sa 1954 Champion I think is R.Papa? Di ko alam siya si R.Papa.Di pa ako buhay sa panahon na yun.

For NU I think we may be able to add Froilan Baguion and Alfie Grijaldo. Both mythical 5 members in separate years and help stir NU to it's last Final Four appearance.

"He captained the Ateneo de Manila Blue Eagles in the late 1920s and led the team to capture the 1928 NCAA Philippines Basketball Championship under coach James Martin, S.J.. Later, he studied law at the University of the Philippines became a varsity player of the university's baseball team in the early 1930s."

So OUT NA SA LIST na si Senator. By the way may room siya sa UP Law na nakapangalan sa kanya.

Sa NCAA pa la siya naglaro. And even if he played in UP, di pa rin siya pasok kasi 1938 graduate na siya sa Law at start pa lang ng UAAP after UP left with 3 other schools (UST,NU and FEU).

Let's break it down by position, shall we? On sheer talent alone:

    PG- Johnny A. (FEU)
    SG- Ritualo- (DLSU)
    SF- BCaidic (UE)
    PF- Baclao- (ADMU)
    C- D. Francisco (ADMU)

I dare any of you to come up with a starting 5 to match up with this one (pro career not relevant, or else Jaworski/Jojo Lastimosa would be the all-time backcourt)

    Alternatively, here's the all-pro version:

    PG- Jaworski
    SG- Jolas
    SF- Bogs Adornado
    PF- Danny Ildefonso
    C- Dennis Espino

Anyone know where Ramon Fernandez came from? If the UAAP, then he's on the list for sure...

    Honorable mention:

    PG-Johnny A.
SG-Francis Arnaiz (forgot his school, sorry)
    SF-Allan Caidic (UE)
    PF-Rey Evangelista (UST)
    C- Jerry Codinera (UE)
