May question ako ulit! When ba advisable na ilakad na ang shih tzu? Gusto ko kasi sha iwalk para ma train sha to do potty outside. Pero may friend kasi ako na may shih tzu ginagala nya *** shih tzu nya tapos nagkasakit and namatay. Kaya ayun, ano ba requirements para maigala mo na ang dog with protection from any virus outside. Hehe. thanks ulit sa magrereply!

kapag na bigyan na siya ng vet ng anti-rabies shot puwede mo na siya i walk sa labas. much better kung may kasama ka na friend na may dog den para ma socialize na agad pup mo.

Thanks for the reply! So pag may anti rabies na pwede na? PWede na ba ipa anti rabies ang 3 months? Sorry ang daming tanong! :P Medyo mahirap pala alagaan ang shih tzu, i used to own a daschund pup lang kasi, low maintenance.

after 3 months ata yung anti-rabies shot a. basta minimum 3 months ata tapos nun pwede na siyang ilabas.

yup! importante ma bigyan muna ng anti rabies shot pup mo bago mo ilabas para safe siya. hinde ko masasabe kung puwede na bigyan yang pup mo hinde ko kase alam med records niya. pero yung iba ginagawa nila pinapatapos muna yung 5 in 1 shots or 6 in 1 shots bago bigyan ng anti rabies. much better pa advise ka sa vet mo kung puwede na siya bigyan ng anti rabies shot. ok lang yung tanong ng tanong para at least natututo ka ren.

A puppy actually has higher probability of contracting other viruses than it could rabies when you walk it outside (unless it gets bitten by a rabid dog!). I already started walking my tzu when she still needed 2 (5-in-1) shots. I just made sure that she stayed away from other dogs' faeces (or faeces in general), lamp posts, and other areas dogs would normally mark with urine. So far she's okay naman. Btw, both of my shih tzu got their anti-rabies jab at 3 months.

My boy naman doesn't want to walk. He's scared of cars for some reason so we just make sure that he gets a lot of exercise indoors.

You can get your shih tzu a puppy cut if you find having to brush it 4 times a day a bit of a hassle. Kasi aside from that, I don't think mahirap alagaan ang shih tzu.

hi its better to follow up with your vet kasi alam ko lahat ng shots ng shitzu pups may timed na we started walking our dog siguro 6 months na siya. we got him nung 2 months siya tapos may series of shots sya na nung 6 months na sya tsaka lang nagkaron ng big gap between shots kaya at least meron na syang defenses to say the least. good luck with your lil pup

kase sa pagkakaintindi ko, dog owners are advised to pick up their dog's poop during walks..

I'm considering getting another dog, a small one, not sure kung aspin ulit o may breed naman...

Not a fan of canned dog food, when buying dog food for your dog always check the nutritional facts at the back of the sack choose the one that is high in protein like beef pro or hi pro for puppy. for good coat you can try holistic and vitality.

Hmm, interesting. My vet naman is vehemently against Beef Pro, hehe. Too high in crude protein daw (27+) whereas ang ideal na protein is 22 below. Though I am feeding my dog Beef Pro now, because she hardly touches Vitality and Holistic. Though she kinda likes Holistic, but not as much as Beef Pro. I give her the canned dog food to sort of supplement Beef Pro, since I've read that it's not that nutritious, and also because parang picky talaga sya sa food, actually even with Beef Pro lately hindi sya ganoon ka-eager. But I'm guessing it's because she's been introduced to the canned dog food and like them better....

Sorry naman ha. Pero one purpose of walking our dogs is for them to be trained na hindi sa loob ng bahay mag poop. Thats why Im asking. Im not saying i would want to litter outside instead of our house, thats really out of my question.

First you need to show them that your the Alpha make them realize that your the boss, Do the "15 min rule" bigay mo yung dogfood after 15 mins. ayaw niya galawin kunin mo yung dog bowl wag mo na pakainen. bigay mo yung food sa susunod na meal time. your dog needs to realize kung ano yung nasa bowl yun ang kakainen niya. or plan b puwede mo haluan ng canned dog food na alpo sabe mo gusto nila yun siguro gusto ng dog mo yung malambot. next day ganun paren pero babawasan mo na yung lagay ng alpo para masanay siya hanggang sa dumating na yung araw pure dog food na yung kinakaen niya.

advised nga na linisin ang kalat ng aso during walk especially sa mga park o ma tao na lugar. pero ok lang naman, i think, kapag sa medyo madamo pumunta ang aso para dun mag number 1 or 2.

and isa sa mga rason kaya iwino walk ang aso para meron naman siyang exercise. pwede ding bonding moment at konting training na rin.

We walk our dogs as a means for them to release energy, more than anything else. Pent up energy is one of the major causes of behavioral issues with dogs. As they say, a tired dog is a happy dog.

Now if you're walking your dog in order for it to poop outside, please, please clean after your dog. It's irresponsible to leave a pile of poop lying around for other people to step on accidentally. That's a pet peeve for me (pun intended).
