UE's UAAP Championships

When UE joined the UAAP, it carried the official blue and gold colors of the University. However, since NU as a UAAP founding university also carried blue and gold as its colors, UE was asked to change its teams' colors. Red, which connotes bravery and is considered a fighting color, was chosen with white as its combination. Eddie Ticzon, a Manila Times reporter covering the games, gave the UE players the moniker "Red Warriors". - UE Today (July 2005)
