Well, one of you said M's time has passed.. so THERE, the proof of how WRONG he/she is. M just established an ALL TIME RECORD FOR ANY KIND OF SHOW IN HISTORY. And PLEASE. Superbowl halftimes are traditional moments for bathroom breaks w/ ratings often going down. Recent SB halftimes have been one disaster after another.. and Madonna was derided as NOT for the SB audience. Well, the POWER of Madonna showed everyone.. a RECORD 4M viewers more on top of the show's viewers; meaning, NO ONE went to the bathroom or got a cigar break, yet 4M more tuned in just for her! More than that, the show itself set new standards for performance spectaculars

And, YES.. against those Gaga shows.. Aba, aba, aba.. mukhang puro ITLOG ang inabot ng mga Gaga-related TV shows ah.. from that glaringly TRUTH OR DARE copycat HBO MBT Special, to that dreary trash Thanksgiving ordinary, to the Simpsons, to the Oprah interview! Etc.. Imagine, an obscure (& less distributed) show M was in got 5 times more viewers than that hyped Oprah thing! LOL.. Hmmmm... THESE should tell you something on WHOSE time has passed

Wooow! Is it right to compare the ratings of completely different shows? Maghintay ka munang magka-SB si Gaga, magka-Simpsons si Madonna and etc etc bago mo ipagmayabang ang mga ratings thingy na yan ha!

Ummm.. It's clear that when I say BTW was #1 in only 21 countries, I meant OVERALL, not just on iTunes (well, unless u mistake itunes charts as the aggregate national charts.. w/c I won't put pass mongsters given that...umm.. LOL)

And FYI, the SB performance was more a promo for the TOUR (w/c was announced the day after) & not the album.. w/c came out a long TWO MONTHS (almost) away from the SB, with NO significant promo in between. So, yes, there was NO adequate promo. Not that Madonna cared, anyway. Kuha mo?

And for sure, isa ka dun sa nagmayabang dun sa record-breaking amount of iTunes and Amazon pre-orders daw for MDNA album, after her SB performance!

Lady Gaga Suffers Concussion During Auckland Concert

Lady Gaga received a concussion in the middle of her Born This Way Ball show in Auckland, New Zealand on Sunday. During the song "Judas," one of the dancers accidentally hit the singer on the head with a pole. According to fan site Gagamedia.net, Gaga continued with the performance for another 16 songs. "I want to apologize," she told the crowd. "I did hit my head and I think I may have a concussion but don’t you worry I will finish this show."

Lady Gaga's makeup artist later confirmed through Twitter that the singer was recovering:

"Gaga has a concussion but she is going to be okay.She wants u to know she loves u. I'm taking care of her.cant believe she finished the show."

MANILA, Philippines --- One of America's richest and most popular singer Lady Gaga paid the other day the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) P4 million in income tax out of her talent fee from the recent two-day concert at the Mall of Asia in Pasay City.

Ovation Production Inc. remitted the final withholding tax (FWT) to the Mandaluyong revenue district office where it is based.

Madaluyong Revenue District Officer Isabel Paulino told Quezon City Revenue Regional Director Jona DP Amora that Ovation has until June 20 to remit the value added tax (VAT) from its earnings of the show and the income tax next month.

Based on the P4 million FWT, Lady Gaga was paid by the promoter some P20 million.

Under Section 25 of the Tax Code, a 25-percent FWT is imposed on earnings of foreign entertainer doing shows here.

BIR could not make estimate on how much VAT and income tax are due from from Ovation.

It said the VAT from Lady Gaga's concert will be lumped with other earnings from other concerts and related activities promoted by Ovation.

But it said the principal promoter will not only shoulder all the business and income taxes but other enterprises like SM that promoted and made the concert possible.

Revenue officials explained that Lady Gaga's FWT is deductible from her income tax liabilities in the United States as provided for in the bilateral tax treaty agreement between the two countries.

They likened Lady Gaga's tax obligations to that of boxing champion Manny Paquiao who is also required to remit portions of his prize money to the US Internal Revenue Service (IRS) when fights are staged there which payments are deductible in his income tax here.

Yep, VERY fair comparison.. M on Norton= 4M viewers frm usual 2M; Caca on OPRAH = 800k viewers!

To TUTOR you on the business of music.. The MDNA redemption "promo" was a promo to the converted: meaning, it was for CORE FANS who will buy it anyway. Gets mo? REAL album promo is to go out to MASS MEDIA (awards shows, day or late night talk shows, variety & competition shows, etc.-- like what Caca & Lionel Richie did, nonstop) so that you'd reach more CASUAL FANS who are integral to making an album/song a TRUE HIT.

As a result of Madonna not doing the TV rounds, awareness saturation for her album was low beyond her base/core market.
