In DFA, how can you justify an OJT student applicant being hired than a college graduate Job applicant? How can you justify former and late DFA secretary Blas Ople in becoming a DFA secretary when he is not even a college graduate? How can you justify a DLSU Foreign Service Graduate more hirable than a Lyceum Foreign Service Graduate..? I have every right to be angry and blame those outside forces coz they are the ones who kept me from having a long term goal no matter how hard I worked and prepared myself in working there. In a lot of times, sacrificing and doing what needs to be done is not their way so they prevent you. You just wasted your time.

A: Being an OJT, I assume in the organization applied to (in this case, theDFA), he must already have performed and assessed to be a future asset to the organization. Compare to a college job applicant who is untried and untested, kahit ako doon na ako sa nakita ko na ang abilidad.

A: Cabinet Secretaries are assigned by the President, and if I recall correctly, are assigned mainly because they have the trust and confidence of the President, not because they graduates Summa Cum Laude from College. I admit, tho, that I am not sure if Cabinet Secretaries should be college graduates in order to become one. But since naging Secretary of Foreign Affairs si Ople, then I assume na pwede kahit HS grad lang siya (assuming totoo nga na HS grad lang si Ople).

Q: How can you justify a DLSU Foreign Service Graduate more hirable than a Lyceum Foreign Service Graduate..?
A: Ummm DLSU vs Lyceum? All things being equal, my money would go to the DLSU grad too. Just sayin'..

R3'91 - hindi naman ako mabibitter. Try and tr lang hanggang makapasok. May 10 years pa ko hahaha.

Rafa - naka survive naman ako sa exam. Dapat lang ma foundation ka ng kaalaman sa Phil economics, kasi ang daming econ questions this year, at current issues and trends, ex: globalization, major intl movements, personality. Naloka lang kami ng classmate ko nung may tanong sa world history about sa effects ng spanish inquisition sa different ethnic groups ng spain. Dun lang namin nalaman na may iba ibang ethnic groups sa spain hahaha. In fairness enjoy naman ang test. Sana lang pumasa ako. Pero sa palagay ko nasagot ko naman sya sa abot ng aking makakaya with concrete data and examples at minsan may joke pa. Sana lang pumasa.

Kamusta naman ang FS exam ngayon? Yung batch ko, we had to speak in front of a panel about an issue (picked from a bowl) on the foreign language that you specified. Ginagawa pa ba ngayon yun?

i think not. walang ganung general rule sa batch namin (na speech in foreign language), but in my case, i was interviewed in italian, spanish, french, and german then i delivered half of my impromptu speech in spanish, para lang may "impact".

Mahirap ba talaga to? totoo bang sa 600 takers 100+ lang yung pumapasa? at pagkatapos daw ng written exam eh meron pa daw oral? .Gusto ko sanang mag take nito dahil IS student din ako. Napang hihinaan tuloy ako ng loob mahina din kasi ako sa ingles kaya malamang bumagsak ako sa oral. lol kailangan ko pa sigurong mag basa ng mag basa ng mga libro para maging articulate ako sa ingles.
