Jane By Design is a light-hearted drama about Jane, a teenager who lands a job at Donovan Decker, a hip fashion house, when they mistake her for an adult. Jane soon finds herself juggling life both as a regular high school student and as an assistant to a high powered executive in the cutthroat world of fashion... all while trying to keep her true identity a secret.

Jane By Design stars Erica Dasher (The Lake) as Jane Quimby; Nick Roux (Lemonade Mouth) as Billy Nutter, Rowly Dennis (Desperate Housewives) as Jeremy Jones, India De Beaufort (One Tree Hill) as India Jourdain, Meagan Tandy (10 Things I Hate About You) as Lulu Pope, Matthew Atkinson (CSI) as Nick Fadden. And featuring Andie MacDowell (Four Weddings and a Funeral) who stars as Gray Chandler Murray - Jane's steely boss whose constant demands keep her on her toes.

The series will be executive produced by Gavin Polone (Gilmore Girls), John Ziffren (Melissa & Joey) and April Blair (Lemonade Mouth).

The series is filled with eye-candy but it's working on a bland script.

The lead's lacking charm and her boss is not steely enough.

Would watch episode 2 and then I'd decide whether this series is worth being part of my foreign series viewing list.

Agree - lead isn't that charming so I didn't get "hooked". Everything was just average - the lead, the cute guy, even the evil boss (though it's awesome to see Andie MacDowell on TV), the story...

Will still watch the new few episodes, we'll see.

I kinda want the lead to end up with the best friend, but I don't think that's gonna happen anytime soon...

I like Jane. She's not exactly bonggacious beautiful but she's pretty beautiful. Never liked True Jackson VP so no worries about that. At least we know her excuse of what led her to get a 30,000 dollar job when she was only applying as an intern.

Call me curious but as early as now, I'm sensing Jane and her boss have some sort of connection, maybe familial or something else. Suwerte ni Jane, may 3 siyang boytoys na puwedeng paglalaruan.

I sense a flop here. When you create a series inspired by something as big as The Devil Wears Prada, people will definitely have some expectations. Though these expectations have to be lowered quite a bit given the fact that we're talking about a Meryl Streep and Anne Hathaway tandem vs. sweet miss Andie MacDowell and some young chick I haven't seen or heard of.

Still, everything from the acting to the plot and the overall flow of the show seems a bit flat. There's nothing memorable in the episode except for the scene which basically screams future statutory rape.

S01E02, I think is better than the pilot but this series seriously lacks the ooomph to really sustain viewers' interest.
