To the TS,

Yes, you can finish BS Math in UPD in 3 years, just like what my older brother did. Besides the entire curriculum of BS Math, he also took electives. The downside is, you'll never have summer vacations because you DEFINITELY have to take advance summer classes.

Regarding the faculty members who didn't have international graduate degrees from your so-called Stanford and Princeton, just use your common sense! The UP Administration has been constantly battling this continuous "emigration" of the best UP professors to private universities and companies. Who's left at the university are probably not the best in terms of academic standing, but they are DEFINITELY the best in terms of teaching, because despite the temptation to leave in favor of higher pay, they stayed. Their hearts belong to this university.

You also have to be informed about graduate school, because your babbling non-sense and arrogance about your pseudo-intelligence is annoying. Those professors who may not have international degrees could easily have done their graduate theses abroad. A person could have earned his MS here at UPD but their graduate thesis was done abroad under the tutelage of a foreign professor. That's the case of my brother, who in his 2nd year of taking MS CS at UPD was sent to Tokyo under a full Monbukagakusho scholarship. He spent 2 years there working on his graduate thesis. He had 2 thesis advisors, 1 Japanese professor and 1 from UPD. In the end, he earned his MS CS from UPD.

If I were you, you should pursue Ateneo instead of UPD. Asar ang mga taga-UP sa mga MAYAYABANG na katulad mo. Just look at Mr. Pelias, napaka-simpleng tao, payak manamit, walang angas pero SOBRANG TALINO. 'Yang yabang mo, dalhin mo sa ibang lugar.

Again, IGNORANCE is not an EXCUSE. Ang sinasabi mong konti pa lang ang alam mo, IF YOU HAVE NOTHING GOOD TO SAY THEN JUST STFU!

i'll admit, may pagkamayabang ako, but that just because nasanay na ako since elementary pa but I accept my mistakes easily and apologizes quickly. kaya if ever man , naapektuhan kayo ng super kayabangan ko, sorry , i just really need your opinions.

Anyway, kakalevel up pa lang ng IMath to an institute so you probably won't see it getting elevated to national institute status anytime soon. If I am not mistaken, the institute also has to be dominant in its field kasi nationwide ang search and I don't know if a search is even going on.

Yes, you're a minor, but we don't care because first: this is a forum, a public one... anything can happen here and second and more important: we love discussions with others.

You gave your arguments, so we give our own arguments. We don't care if the one on the other end is a minor, what we care about is the flow of the discussion.

I'll go broader here, but I hope you'll understand...

What you need to understand is that classes in UP are not by block or by year level. Most of the time, you'll have classmates that are from other year levels and from other colleges/courses. The good thing about this is the diversity, the ideas coming from different backgrounds or point of views. We are all equal.

We were trained to voice out our ideas and arguments, and to analyze and critique those of others. It's not about the age or course, but the ideas and arguments, the way you stand your ground. This is how UP trains its students.

If you want to go to UP, dapat sanayin mo ng trinatrato ka na as equal. Sanayin lang din po na tratuhin ang iba as equal, pero dapat may paggalang.

Pinapansin lang po namin yung manner of talking/posting mo, madalas din po naming gawin ito sa mga klase namin. Medyo maangas po yung dating, kaya maangas din po yung iba dito. I may look calm in this post, but in my mind I already killed you 104 times, JK. Nakikibagay lang po kami. Bara ka po kasi ng bara, parang you're trying to degrade the quality of education that UP is giving, so we don't have a choice but to defend UP plus konting hate posts.

lastly, nandito ka po sa UP forums, igalang lang po natin yung mga tao dito, mag po at opo, MINOR ka pa naman. Wag pong maging masyadong mayabang, mayayabang po lahat kami dito kasi taga-UP po kami. magmayabang ka na lang pag nakapasok ka na.

maganda po lahat ng courses sa UP, nuff said.
Try to follow your heart or your dreams or kung anong kinahihiligan mo. Try Physics, Economics, Business Ad, Geography, Social Work, Araling Pilipino...

Kapag balak bang ulitin ang first year all-over again hindi na magpapa-validate? BS Math po sana balak kong lipatan, 'yun din kasi current course ko. Sana po paki-entertain, salamat sa sasagot!

I need a feedback regarding this problem of mine;

I am on my late 20's and a graduate of Comp. Eng'g Tech. (3year course) of a not so well known university here in Manila (dati siguro sikat na sikat siya - FEATI University). I need to know kung pwede ba akong mag-enroll for a second degree. I am planning to take up BS Math sa UP Diliman sana. I was forced lang kasi to take my prevoius course because of financial problems, kung hindi dahil sa scholarship grant ng government di ako nakapag aral ng college. Kung sakaling mag-aral ako ngayon, I will be a working student which I think makakaya ko naman. If ever, will I be considered a transferee student o a freshman? will my subjects be credited such as Algebra, Trigo, Calculus?

mahirap nga makapasok tapos marami kami sa class namin na magaapply sa BAA and to think, mas maganda ang academic performance nila compared sa akin.

i know. pero UPD ang sinasabi niya eh, eh taga LB siya(polyphase). karamihan ng friends ko na taga UP mga taga LB kaya puro sinasabi nila mas magaling daw at mahirap sa LB pag science and math "daw".
