read moreHi again!! You can take Math17 on summer. Only on summer. BC is strict when it comes to following its curriculum but my adviser is really nice. She even wished me luck when I informed her that I was taking up Math17 this summer and intended to shift.
I passed BAA, btw! Yaaay for that! I'm sure you can do it too! You don't have to be scared. Believe me, cause I really was at my wits end when I realized they won't allow me to take Math17 for the 2nd sem. I cried for an entire day. I thought I was going to be stuck but then everything turned out to be ok. And my constant worrying proved to be a tad bit useless.
Hello ironclaw79! BAA only accepts shiftees once a year, apparently. In fact the entire CBA does that. And you can apply once you're an incoming sophomore.
Shifting into BAA does not cause any delay whatsoever, given that you find a way to take the prerequisite subjects before you're actually required to take the majors. The BAA/BA curriculum has been set so that it ensures it is shift-friendly.) I think they've really gotten used to the large influx of shiftees so they adjusted their curriculum so that it can cater to shiftees without causing them delay.
Shifting will not cause you to lose your chances at getting latin honors. As long as you do not underload. Even if you have 5.0s in some subjects as long as your CWA is contained within the range for latin honors then you can absolutely have a chance.
CONGRATS!!! :-) So you followed the curriculum in the second sem? Taking Comm 100 and BC 100 (I think). I'm actually planning to get Math 11 second sem then Math 14 sa summer. And even if I take those CMC electives, I can shift, I mean will it be counted for the 30 units required? And Math 17 lang naman prerequisite right? Thanks again!![]()

Thanks! Yes, you can do that as well. Math 11 and 14.) Yes, the BC courses will also be included in the 30-unit count but I don't think the grades that you get in those courses would be included for evaluation. I'm not sure though since it varies from people to people I've asked. But I'm sure that as long as you finish at least 30 units, credited or not, in your first year, you can apply. Nevertheless, I suggest you do well in all of your subjects.
Yes, I took my BC majors as well. :> Yes, Math 17 is the only prereq subject you will need to take courses when you shift. :> Good luck!!
Thanks!!How about Math 100? I saw it in their curriculum. :-/
Ask ko ***, kelngan po lahat ng GE(AH) sa BAA ay all English subjects tama po ba ang intindi ko sa curriculum ng BAA.
^Somebody told me that's because there's a requirement by the Board of Accountancy, setting a minimum number of English units for those taking the CPA Boards. So, yes, you have to take GE's in English, plus a few other units of English subjects which are part of their curriculum, because the GE units still don't meet the requirement.
I don't know how it is now, but nung time namin, only 9 units (meaning three subjects) lang out of the 15 AH units ang kailangan English. Starting AY 2007-2008, hindi na kasama ang Comm 3 as one of the possible English AH's. Isa pa ko dun sa mga huling nakapag-pacredit ng Comm 3 as English sa BAA. Gosh, tumatanda na ko.![]()
