As a super fan of Meteor Garden, I can only think of Kim Chiu as the PERFECT SANCHAI. If indeed it has been decided already, its so cheap to use and abuse Kimmy again as a stunt. And for a show that will always be the best manga tv adaptation.

XIAN HOPES KIM ENDS UP WITH HIM

XIAN Lim’s star no doubt shone brighter after being paired with Kim Chiu in “Binondo Girl”. He was with Kim before in “My Only Hope” and “My Girl” but his career didn’t really take off in those shows. “I’m really thankful to ‘Binondo Girl’ dahil dito ako talaga napansin ng viewers as Andy at maraming nagsabing bagay pala kami ni Kim. May Jandy fans na nga kami as Kim’s name is Jade. I’m also thankful to Kimerald fans dahil tanggap nila ang tambalan namin ni Kim,” he says.

Xian is all set to embark on a new career as singer-songwriter. His idol is Ogie Alcasid. “Singer-songwriter siya, but also an actor. I’ll be super happy to work with him someday.” His own composition “Ako’y Sa’Yo Lamang” is now used as the theme song of “Binondo Girl.” He says Kim was his inspiration in writing it. So is he really wooing Kim now? “No, hindi pa. So many doors are opening for me so I’d want to concentrate sa work muna.”

Xian plays the piano professionally. His mom is a piano teacher and she started teaching him how to play the piano as a child. His favorite pieces then were the classical pieces of Van Cliburn. He also plays the guitar, the cello and the saxophone. “Marami na kong compositions. Lately, tuluy-tuloy ang trabaho ko, wala kong mental block. Dream ko is to have my own album . I’m now also taking voice lessons to improve my singing.”

He now has a YouTube channel, youtube.com/user/XianLim8, where he uploads videos of him singing and playing the piano. It already got more than 100,000 hits. A short video featuring behind-the-scenes clips of the “Ako’y Sa ’yo Lamang” music video shoot and the official music video of the song itself is also in it. His recent stint in Star Magic’s benefit show with him singing and playing the piano was one of the most applauded numbers.

Xian, who endorses Mint and Orotime Italian Jewelry, was born in San Francisco but grew up in Daly City. His parents are separated. His dad is cager Godofredo Lim who used to be with UE and PBL. Xian came home three years ago to play baskbetball for UE then someone discovered him in modelling and then he joined showbiz in ABS-CBN’s “My Only Hope”. “That’s when I realized nasa acting pala ang puso ko.” Kim has two other leading men in “Binondo Girl”: Jolo Revilla and Matteo Guidicelli. Who’ll get her in the end? “I don’t know. Pero sana ako.”

THE MULTI-TALENTED XIAN LIM

Halos dalawang taon pa lang sa showbiz ang aktor na si Xian Lim from Star Magic, pero nakagawa na kaagad siya ng pangalan.

“Parang medyo mabilis nga po, eh. I feel so blessed na hindi ko na masyadong pinagdaanan ’yung hirap bago ako nabigyan ng magandang break sa acting sa Binondo Girl,” pahayag niya sa amin sa mini-presscon na ipinatawag ng Star Magic nu’ng Huwebes.

Bukod sa akting, musically inclined din si Xian. Marunong siyang tumugtog ng piano, guitar, ukelele, saxophone at melodia. Nagko-compose din siya at kumakanta. Isa nga sa most in demand na kanta ngayon ay Ako’y Sa ’Yo Lamang na madalas naririnig sa Binondo Girl na siya mismo ang gumawa.

Sa My Binondo Girl, kilala bilang si Andy Wu si Xian na kinikiligan ang kanilang tandem ni Kim Chiu bilang si Jade Dimaguiba.

Aminado naman si Xian na naging inspirasyon niya ang dalaga para masulat ang awiting Ako’y Sa ’Yo Lamang. Narinig ng management ang kanta at naisip nilang bagay ito sa Jandy tandem.

Gusto rin ni Xian na i-level up ang kanyang talento sa musika. Sa katunayan, nagpe-perform na rin siya sa ilang mga concert at sa ASAP Rocks. Wish din niyang magkaroon ng album next year.
