Too early to speculate, facts please.
(People judge too early yet it is doubtful if they knew a single detail about the issue)
Perhaps a tinsy bit of effort to research wouldn't hurt.

Semerads Transfer to Ateneo
File this one under the category: "News that comes out of nowhere."
Anthony and David Semerad, Fil-Australian twins who played key roles down the stretch of San Beda's recent back to back championship season, have reportedly traded in their Red Lion unis for the blue and white of Ateneo de Manila.
According to a source close to the Red Lions, the duo left earlier this week and will sit out the remainder of the second academic semester to enroll at Ateneo in March, starting with the summer sem of 2012.
News of the twins' move took the San Beda coaching staff by surprise, adds the source.
Anthony Semerad was in and out of the line-up this season, but came on strong towards the tailend. His most memorable game of the season came against San Sebastian in the second round, when he exploded for 10 points in six minutes against the zone of the Golden Stags. Overall, he averaged 6.4 points in 15.7 minutes, while shooting a team-best 39 percent from outside the arc.
David Semerad was San Beda's third-string center, providing additional toughness behind Kyle Pascual and Dave Marcelo, but he strutted his stuff on the largest stage possible: the second game of the NCAA Finals this year, with San Beda already having won the first match. In a defensive grinder of a fourth quarter, David scored seven of his team's nine points, finishing with 15 markers, three rebounds, an assist, a steal and a block in 22 minutes.
In addition to the Semerads, San Beda will lose Dave Marcelo, Garvo Lanete, Mar Villahermosa and Sudan Daniel to either graduation or eligibility. They do however, have a stacked Team B, that features names like Ivan Ludovice (transfer from NU), Art Dela Cruz Jr. (transfer from ADMU), Jaypee Mendoza (former Team A), Fil-Am Julius Armon, and Nigerian Ola Adeogun, plus a champion San Beda Red Cubs team that graduates all but four players.
One hold-up to the integration of the Semerads to the Blue Eagles is how long the two will have to sit out and serve their residency.
Normally, a transfer from a non-UAAP team to a UAAP team will have to sit out a year. That means they become eligible in 2013 or Season 76, when the likes of Nico Salva, Justin Chua, Tonino Gonzaga, and Greg Slaughter and Oping Sumalinog, should they return for their last year of eligibility. Having played two seasons in the NCAA, they can play a maximum of three more years before they turn 26.
The problem though is the fact that the two Semerads played in the inaugural conference of the PBA-Developmental League for the Maynilad team. In the NCAA, this was not a problem because players are allowed to play for a minor league after just one season. The UAAP however requires one to have played at least two seasons before becoming eligible for minor leagues. It thus becomes very possible that the UAAP board might enforce a penalty on the two, such as sitting out an additional year.
I wonder how Ateneans would react to this. Remember the Tallo issue? They mentioned things like honor and respect.
Now, the Semerads acted without honor and respect to the team that treated them like family. Will Ateneans hate them as well since like Tallo, they don't have honor and respect?
This is not recruitment. This is piracy. Add the fact that the coaching staff and the team didn't know about it until the twins have transferred already and we have something shady. Now, they don't have a convenient excuse. Hint: Wants to transfer to Manila to be closer to Gilas practices.
Since the team didn't know, then the ADMU camp acted without honor as well. Ginarapal.
^ wala na ba talaga ang mga Semerad sa inyo? i dunno but i don't think Frankie Lim and company won't say anything about it. kung ang utos ni MVP ay ilipat ang mga Semerad sa Ateneo, wala silang magagawa dahil si MVP din ang main benefactor ng San Beda.
A team full of mercenaries adds two more. Twins at that.
insurance ito if slaughter doesn't play next season
and if kiefer joins the pba draft![]()
^ the Semerads cannot play in UAAP Season 75. supposing they do transfer to Ateneo, they will be subjected to the mandatory one-year residency requirement for transfer players, making them eligible by UAAP Season 76 (2013).
This is confirmed already. The only way na magbago to eh kung magbago yung isip ng kambal. This has been confirmed by several key people inside SBC. Of course, they were all surprised. Bedans have seen how passionate the twins are for SBC. So this move really surprised a lot of people.
Eh si Tallo nga hindi pa naglalaro sa UAAP eh galit na galit na sila. Ang Semerads two years na naglalaro for SBC yun ang kinuha nila.
May chance pa na ma-question ang eligibility nila kase naglaro na sila for San Beda sa D-League. Pag nagkataon eh 2 years ang residency ng mga yan.
They're not really huge losses to the RL as we have a stacked Team B plus more or less 10 graduating Red Cubs. Namomroblema nga kami kung paano mapapasok sa Team A yung mga yun eh. So this basically solves this problem. But this really leaves a bad taste in one's mouth.
kinanginang NU yan! walang tigil sa pamimirata.
oh wait, Ateneo pala.
walang pinagkaiba.
@ MakaveliLives: nakakagulat actually yung nangyari. with the Semerads leaving the Den, yung mga nasa Team B niyo will be given a chance. yun nga lang, talagang hindi maganda yung paraan king papaano sila napunta sa Ateneo.
still, i wouldn't be surprised if Frankie Lim and company won't do anything about it. bossing kasi nila si MVP eh and it seems like MVP had something to do with the decision of the Semerads to go to Ateneo.
Yeah, that's the thing that's pissing me off. Yung manner ng pag-pirata sa kanila.
Not really sure how Coach FL will react. The family's out of town. But his wife's pissed.
Makes you really wonder. The twins were going to be given a lot of PT as well with the departure of Marcelo and Gabo.
I don't really know if MVP had a hand in this decision. Maybe because SBC is already loaded?
@ MakaveliLives: from the looks of it, it seems like MVP's main priority is for ADMU to have an n-peat in the UAAP. however, the return of The Boss in DLSU and the further strengthening of NU, c/o the Sy family of SM, made MVP a bit "insecure", which was why he, a person who is so addicted to winning and hated losing, tried to find ways to bolster ADMU's positioning in the league even if one of them is to "pirate" the Semerad brothers from another MVP school, SBC.
ang sa akin naman, sana hinayaan na lang yung mga Semerad sa SBC. those guys are doing well in your team. sa ginawa nina MVP, parang magmukhang "second-rate" team ang SBC among the teams na sinusuportahan at pinopondohan ni MVP.
-----
@ Drahow: Salva and Slaughter won't be around by 2013. "perfect replacements" for them ang Semerad twins.![]()
