Wow I guess I'm missing something when it comes to latest tech. Thanks for sharing that.
And also there's a hot topic these days about a Fuel cell that can be use also in gadgets, like for instance a smartphone manufacturer could use it as a battery. Some say that the fuel cell battery could last up to 20hrs if the development is finalized.. I can imagine a tablet or laptop or smartphones with 24hrs of battery. Well I don't know if they proven it already.![]()

Microsoft Research - Illumishare
Seen at Microsoft Research's TechFest 2012, IllumiShare enables remote people to share any physical or digital object on any surface. It is a low-cost, peripheral device that looks like a desk lamp, and just like a lamp lights up a surface at which it is pointed, IllumiShare shares a surface. To do this, IllumiShare uses a camera-projector pair where the camera captures video of the local workspace and sends it to the remote space and the projector projects video of the remote workspace onto the local space. With IllumiShare, people can sketch together using real ink and paper, remote meeting attendees can interact with conference room whiteboards, and children can have remote play dates in which they play with real toys.

you think iPhone's touch response is fast enough?
Microsoft Working To Cut Touch Screen Lag To Just One Millisecond
Sunday, March 11, 2012
Touched an iPad lately? What about a car navigation system? What about a Windows Phone? To be honest, most modern touchscreens are fairly responsive. It's not often that a high-quality device with a touch panel these days suffers from notable lag. Some of the old resistive panels could use some gusto, but the iPhone for example seems adequately fast. But it's not fast enough, says Microsoft. The company's research labs are working on a new touch screen system that cuts lag to just one millisecond, well below the threshold of human recognition. If this technology could be ported to touch panel devices, the entire usage scenario would change. Swipes would be faster, and chores would be finished in less time. Ready to see what the future holds? There's a video for that.

Nokia plans to out-design the iPhone
Focuses on mobile phone future with new concepts
March 22, 2012
The design head honcho at Nokia has decided to out-do Sir Jonathon Ive with a future Nokia handset, revealing in an interview that the company will eventually unleash a phone that will make all other handsets look old and boring.
None of this seems to appeal to Ahtisaari, who reckons Nokia is working on something which will revolutionise how we interact with our phones.
Now, when we say working – according to Nokia, what Ahtisaari is talking about in the interview is concepts which were outlined at last year's Le Web, where he hinted that the future of mobile phones will be heads up, instead of heads down looking at your phone's screen.
Whether this means piping content to some sort of heads-up-display (HUD) remains to be seen – but this does seem to be something that both Google and Microsoft are working on.
While Ahtisaari gave nothing new away in this recent interview, it did show yet again that Nokia are still looking to change things in the mobile phone market. Better late than never.

Nokia Voice Experience - Minus Background Noise
AMR-WB (Adaptive Multi-Rate Wideband)
AMR-WB (Adaptive Multi-Rate Wideband) speech codec is a standard that
was largely developed by Nokia Research Center. It is a speech codec, which
means it captures your voice, compresses it and transmits it wirelessly over
the network. Compared to earlier technologies, it can efficiently capture and
transmit a much larger audio bandwidth, which makes your voice sound very
natural on the other end. In order to demonstrate the benefit of this
technology, we travelled around the world and recorded live calls in noisy
places.

Microsoft will ‘crush’ Google and ‘muscle-out’ Apple in smartphone, tablet markets
“Microsoft will ultimately muscle-out Apple as the leader in smartphones and tablets.” He says the war will be long and grueling, but Microsoft will ultimately pull ahead because Apple has no ”durable long-term advantages” to keep customers loyal. He also contends that “Apple’s insistence on controlling every aspect of both its software and hardware puts it at a disadvantage to a more flexible Microsoft.”

Despite all the initial misgivings regarding Windows 8, I think this is what will ultimately happen.
We can already see it in the all the form factor creativity unleashed by the manufacturers of Win 8 devices and this is just the beginning. Apple may indeed have excellent industrial design, but it cannot prevail against dozens of PC manufacturers each testing out a different design on the market. Apple need only fail or release a device with lukewarm reception once and its entire ecosystem is negatively affected to a large degree. The PC space on the other hand, would barely be affected if even more than half of the manufacturers released lemons.
It really is starting to look like the Mac vs PC days where Apple had an early seemingly insurmountable lead in a paradigm-changing technology, but PC eventually browbeat it by adopting the same paradigm and coupling it with an ecosystem that became orders of magnitude richer.
