PinoyExchange is all about having a community of people. We thrive on discussions about anything under the sun. But this time, let's go further from the usual posts and translate what we do into action which is fun and engaging!

We introduce you the PEx Challenges!

PEx Challenges are simple, a challenge will be posted and it is up to your if you accept! Challenges can include anything ranging from showing us your best batch of cookies to beating me in a game of DoTA.

Challenges can come from us but you can challenge other PExers too! So you can do 300 sit ups in a row, you can challenge other to do so. Just approach us with how we will do it and let's work from there .

PEx Challenges are engaging activities for the PinoyExchange community organized by the members. These challenges include activities related to a sub-forum.

Eligibility

Members who are registered members for 3 months with no offenses against the User Agreement can organize PEx challenges. As for participating in PEx Challenges, it depends on the mechanics of the organizer.

Registration of organized challenges

PEx Challenges can either be initiated by PExers as well as TeamPEx.
For members: to organize a challenge, mechanics should be sent to TeamPEx via PM to the administrators. This will be further discussed through e-mail. Member should be eligible to organize a PEx Challenge for the request to be honored. A template for the mechanics will be provided for the organizers as guides.

PEx Challenge Mechanics Template

Description: <Tell us what the challenge is all about. How do you win this challenge (if competitive)? What do you do in this challenge>

Eligibility: <Who can join this challenge?>

Requirements: <Include what the participants should have to participate. Do they need a kitchen to cook their food or a mic to record their voice?>

Mechanics:

- <Add the specifics as well as the flow of the challenge. What will we do in the thread? What should they do or post?>

Prizes: <Include the proposed prizes here and how to claim them. Should they go to the PEx Office or can you hand them out yourself?>

Durations: <Start and end of the challenge>

Home Forum: <The home forum where the challenge belongs>

Approvals

TeamPEx will review the mechanics and approve all the activities for a PEx Challenge to be recognized.
TeamPEx will be evaluating the received mechanics according to the qualities below:

-Realistic application of the mechanics
-Safety of the challenge
-Possible engagement
-Clarity of mechanics
-Creativity and concept of the challenge
-Exposure of PinoyExchange using the challenge

Should TeamPEx approve of a submitted challenge, timelines will be discussed with the organizer.

Values and activity assistance from PinoyExchange

The following values will be given to the challenge prior to launch:

-Home page feature (Whats happening)

-Sticky thread

-Around PEx (in related forums)

-Featured Topics on discussion threads related to the challenge (if applicable)

-SNS mentions (Facebook and Twitter)

-Promotion of video in Youtube Channel (if applicable and verifiable)

-PEx Challenge Pins

Aside from the values, TeamPEx will be assisting the organizers in the implementation of the challenge. Assistance includes but are not limited to prizes, moderating of the challenge thread, posting of challenge material should organizers find it difficult to be online at a given time, judging of participants, etc.

Values can be packaged according to the agreement of TeamPEx and the organizer.

Online and offline aspects

PEx Challenges can be played online. But due to the nature of the program, PEx Challenges can have offline aspects as well. For example: a cooking challenge requires PExers to do something offline as an entry and go back online to submit or discuss their entries.


Due to the nature of some challenges, an offline activity can be sponsored by TeamPEx if a challenge exceeds the expected participation and engagement from the community. Examples of possible activities: cook-offs, poetry readings, etc. TeamPEx will not sponsor an offline activity which has nothing to do with the challenge (a plain party for example).

Samples of challenges you can start:

1) Book Challenge - read 1 book a week and post reviews

2) Cooking Challenge - post a recipe, PExer cooks/bakes and posts the photo of the finished product with "PEx Challenge" written on paper

3) Staring Contest - Video yourself, upload to Youtube, then embed on PEx

I am confident it'll be hit considering that the said show has generated the most traffic than any other group of threads in PEx. PBB Threads are retired just a little less frequent than we change clothes so to speak.

In addition, I hope you throw in PEx shirts for the winner ( and for the organizer considering I made quite an effort to host this.)
