watched this with my partner when it came out.

Does anybody else find some of the movie scenes unintentionally funny? even the facial expressions nung girl nakakatawa.

Natawa kami sa scene na kakapanganak lang nung lead then when she zipped up yung suit- sobrang hirap na hirap na siya and nobody gives a crap sa mga paghihirap niya- we just found some things really ridiculous and andami naming LOL moments. kahit yung mga pagtakbo takbo and pag kadapa dapa niya- ridiculous yung dating parang spoof .
Another funny thing- after she knocked out unconscious the 2 na mag qua-quarantine dapat sa kanya but she escaped coz she wanted to flush out the alien offspring in her belly- then eventually shortly after nagkita sila in another scene- parang dedma sila na sinapok sila kanina. ganun.

For me, hindi adorable yung lead and most characters, as in (as TDY) said, their kinda ST&P^D- i love charlize and i like fassbender but IMO fail sila sa role nila, or severely underdeveloped yung story, or they are just plain miscast-ed.

Like most people, madami ngang questions about the movie and dafuq moments , I love the special effects though.

How does David know what 3 months pregnant looks like in terms of an alien?

David tells Shaw she's 3 months pregnant BEFORE he tells her it's not human. He's telling her she's 3 months pregnant in terms of the size of a human fetus at 3 months. He knows they haven't been there for 3 months and that the alien fetus couldn't be that old as they hadn't been there 3 months.

Shaw mentioned she and Charlie had sex--unprotected, natch--10 hours before that scene. I guess Noomi's supposedly British accent wasn't clear enough kase I wondered din after David's mentioning of three months, so my mind backtracked and, "Oh, so that's what she said, '10 hours ago', gosh!" And there goes another chapter in the Alien's impossibly speedy fetal development.

As for David knowing what a human fetus looks like at 3 months: Google search. As for him saying that it's not a "traditional' fetus...well, for an android, he knows how to build suspense, is all I can say.

David is such a conniving little cunt. I love it. This film is visually stunning. Lakas-maka-Tree of Life when it comes to scenery/outer space shots. Noomi Rapace is perfection. Compare her character from Ridley (Alien) I just love Michael Fassbender and Charlize Theron.

I'll give it a 8.5/10.

Just like Ridley Scott's two other sci-films, there isn't much story in his new one. That is because his sci-films films has always been about visually appealing storytelling and this film is no exception. it was a visual treat from beginning to end. It exceeded my expectations. Ridley Scott is truly a one-of-a-kind master storyteller!

Compared to most sci-fi films, this one does not have a lot of action sequences so if you are looking for tons of gunfights, spacecrafts wreaking havoc and other intense battle scenes then this film is not for you.

Noomi Rapace and Michael Fassbender gave scene-stealing performances. What an incredibly intelligent but creepy android David is! If HAL from 2001 A Space Odyssey is turned into an android, i imagine he would totally be like David.

My one tiny pet peeve is Charlize Theron's uninteresting and totally flat character.

Ridley Scott probably never really intended this film to be a prequel to the Alien films. Maybe the movie moguls and studio execs wanted it to be a "prequel" so that this film could create more buzz and attract more moviegoers. Because of that, i think Ridley Scott was somehow just "forced" to create the last scene. [spoiler start] For crying out loud, the last scene was the ONLY scene in the entire movie that connected this film to the Alien films! [spoiler end]

The movie is definitely "impregnated" with a sequel. I surely hope this film earns that much money so that a sequel is inevitable.

10/10 Another sci-fi classic from a great director who redefined the sci-fi genre.

Actually, there were a lot of Alien-related easter eggs found throughout the film, and that included the overly [spoiler start]large facehugger[spoiler end].

Right after Charlie died, that thing in Shaw have matured past the first trimester within the day, and you know those things don't follow the normal cycle followed by human fetuses in sci fi/horror films . She was knocked out by David so that probably took another day before she woke up and decided to do a C-section with an apparently sexist ER machine.
