I think we should. ABS-CBN is all after the money. You do not see the concern for the league as a whole. Minsan nga, mali mali pa ang sinasabi nila sa marketing gimmicks/advertisements. Just shows you their concern, or lack of it. Being the sportsman that he is, pagagandahin ni MVP ang NCAA coverage, just like what he is doing in the PBA. Basa ko na ang business model ni MVP, he wants TV5 to be an aggregator of the popular leagues.

Syempre the only way for him to do that is to bring something better on the table -- like better coverage and scheduling. Just one concern, though, i hope may replays on a better and earlier time slot. Ang maganda lang sa ABS is they have a partner studio in Balls that will allow them to replay their earlier coverage of the games.

ang problema, hindi ka na nga makakanood ng games on weekdays (due to your usual vocation), e pupuyatin ka naman sa replay. If im not mistaken 10pm nag sstart yung replay sa balls, anong oras ka pa makakatulog kung tatapusin mo yung both game (Except nalang siiguro pag friday or weekend ipalabas yung replay). In short kawawa talaga fans ng NCAA kahit sa anong anggulo mo tignan.

there's not much difference whether its NCAA or WNCAA or NCRAA is airing on weekdays.

the risk is not on them, it's with the NCAA.

or how about mag adjust ng sports calendar, so NC can be accommodated on weekends after the UAAP basketball season.

I usually watch UAAP on weekends. Ayoko magsabay.

pwede pa rin naman kung gugustuhin eh.. uaap usually ends at 6pm. ncaa can start at 5 or 6PM. or they may start earlier at 10am.. i mean the NCAA MUST have a weekend game schedule. wag puro weekdays.

I will go for TV5. I am sure sa Aktiv naman ipapalabas ang games and TV5 are doing great in airing not just basketball games but other sports in Aktiv and besides eto chance ng NCAA na kumita and maging popular again. ABS will not give way for NCAA to have weekend games. In reality nga naman mas popular ang UAAP and ABS will not take a risk na mabawasan kita nila every weekend. So I go for TV5 and NCAA would be the first collegiate sports na itetelevise sa TV5 and I am sure matututukan nila to mabuti. And I think they will provide us Saturday NCAA games. GO FOR TV5!

the way many people complain sa AKTV regarding sa PBA coverage nila, ewan lang...

seriously I think magstay ito sa S23 kaso pagbibigyan na ang hiling ng NCAA like a weekend games and kahit paano papantay ito sa style ng coverage sa UAAP.

    from -1 to 1.5 on a scale of 10.
You will probably look at a higher score of 3.5 to 4.0 when he does that! School affiliations aside, if he can convince MANCOM to take the gamble of jumping networks, we could be seeing a jump in spectators and it's a win-win for everyone. But that remains to be seen as far as re-negotiations with S23 are concerned!

What worries me is the perks that the league will lose after they jump. We could probably say goodbye to Bantay Bata UAAP vs NCAA All-Star Benefit Game and Fil-Oil! The damn if you do and damn if you don't moment is inevitable.

i'll go as high as 2.5 but that's it.

i won't worry too much about the perks. S23 only covers games, they don't dictate which teams participate in tournaments like the filoil. bantay bata is a charity game, if the ncaa would bolt out from s23 and the latter would invite players from ncaa teams to participate in this yearly event, i don't think TV5 has any right to bar them from participating.

sa totoo lang even with weekend games i really doubt it if we can offer the same pomp and pageantry that the uaap offers. don't get me wrong, but in the uaap lahat ng schools "willing" gumastos para "magpapogi", can we say the same for the ncaa? your guess is as good as mine.

^^^ why compete? i don't think the UAAP is concerned with what goes on in the NCAA and vice-versa.

my selfish reason for wanting weekend games is so i can watch games live on a sat or sun afternoon without having to worry about work or other things. hindi na kelangan tumakas sa office or mag file ng leave para lang makanood ng F4 at finals.

Monday (uncovered) games have been notorious for years. And for that I choose for NC' to bolt out of ABS CBN Sports. If you want to know my side of the story you should check my rant at the Blazers' thread. It would be redundant to tell the story again here.

    Game *cough* fixing *cough*.

lipat na sa tv5, conflict of interest ang abs in having both leagues. they tend to favor 1 over the other. plus daming blunders, madalas mali ang mga graphics nila. like kanina may 4 na talo ang red cubs sa standings nila.

I'm not sure, pero kanina parang Calvin Abuena yung nakasulat sa pre-game.

Question, PCCL is covered by S23 this year? If we leave ABS, should we say goodbye to that league as well?

i don't think so. ibang organization ang PCCL at ABS-CBN, so kung na-invite ang PCCL ng NCAA teams (kung sakaling lumipat) wala silang magagawa kundi ipalabas ang mga games.
