    another Nitpick

-What Walker purpose? is Nazir Dumb to kill him off? anyone could be a sniper just sayin no need for walker character a well trained terrorist of any religion can do it also...

    - So now they let us believed the Brody and Nazir action can be justified? because America just killed 82 children WTH they make them crusader for justice and the oppressed?

    - and the Mental hospital scene when carrie scenee blurted out ISSA!.. and suddenly remember brody dream, Anyone can be an Issa just sayin my niece name is Aisa, which can be prounonce as (I-SA)

    - so who is the mole Estes? Saul? Mike? or carrie friends
    the bald guy?

Really Showtime Fukks this up after a promising start most episode are Crap only a ------ --- appreciated this show! they screw up Dexter (who should be a trained methodical killer) to Brody a well trained turn terrorist with a conscience and ambition to be a Lawmaker soon...
-i actually have those same first questions, like where the fcuk is the President? ... but i think the head of CIA has more than enough authority.

-Walker's purpose was quite clear. Like Nazir said, he became a loose end when things went a different direction. If you remember Nazir needed a "ghost" to do the job, (which eventually didn't pan out because of the discovery that Walker is still alive) and i think they also needed Walker's faked death as another motivation for Brody. Another thing, is that he can freely wander around Washington without arousing much suspicion (as opposed to a foreigner or something). After all, Walker is "anyone" like you say.

-It is entirely up to you if you believe their actions can be justified. It's a matter of opinion. As for the characters, it's what they believe in.

-Carrie is constructing a plausible idea, like she's been doing the whole season. It didn't say if she's entirely sure of it.

-That i can't answer. Next season perhaps.

-Brody is actually reluctant to run for congress, until it became part of the plan. As for Dexter, i must agree Season 6 is my least favorite season.

Can i just praise the young actress who played Dana? I think she also did a great job. Kudos!

The finale was really good. I love how they took their time with some scenes, and it didn't even feel like it was dragging. I love the close up shots - no need for props, for set production - you can see and feel everything by just looking at the faces.

Must say, Damian Lewis was BRILLIANT. When he was filming himself, you can feel all of the emotions with that one pause, when he mentioned his kids. And he brought that all throughout the episode. You can definitely feel his fear when he was in the small room and when he clicked on his switch. You can see right before your eyes his internal struggle when his kid called.

Carrie going to the daughter was just crazy. I was like, WTF! But then, I guess, they really needed to show how crazy she was and yep, that was it.

I wanna know what Brody is up to. Was he telling the truth - that he has a new "plan". Or was that his way of getting out of trouble? What's going to happen to the video he recorded? What will the daughter do since she knows her dad converted? Will Carrie remember? So many things to look forward to!

Lots of loopholes, yep, but I am so over overanalyzing shows - because of work stress, I really just treat these shows as forms of entertainment.

Man, first time for me to be called a blind fantard indirectly.
oo nga eh... buti pa walking dead, tagal na off air busy pa rin ang thread at kahit medyo naging boring na rin sya.

-yeah, i also wonder if Brody would continue the plan or if he was just bluffing.. or if his daughter has turned him back.

"I am so over overanalyzing shows - because of work stress, I really just treat these shows as forms of entertainment." - this! lol. i think i get the maximum enjoyment when i do not ask too much questions, especially trivial ones - after all it's just TV ... and what did Starter say? i wanna know! jk..

It is a shame that not so many people are watching this show. I think I know why and some of you have mentioned how the show can be dragging at times. I never really had a problem with the show's pace as I've realized that it's more on character development more than anything. Like I mentioned before, I la-la-loved it.

As far as Walker's purpose, evil_G stated about his role. I think it was evident that his character was short-lived. Walker was simply a pawn. Nazir asked Brody to off Walker to prove his loyalty and he did just that.

With regards to Brody's loyalty, I think that he will carry on with his plan with Nazir. Like he told Nazir once he's in office he'll be able to carry out plans that can influence policy, etc. I foresee a cat and mouse game between Carrie, Saul and Brody come season 2.

As far as Carrie's electroconvulsive therapy, I'm not sure that a person is able to "choose" memories they'd like to forget. One of the side effects of ECT, like the show mentioned, is loss of short term memory. ECT is used for severe depression and what it does is sort of like re-wire your brains and make one feel close to normal. I'm guessing Carrie opted for the ECT just so she can "forget" and move on from Brody. (btw, read about ECT during school, I'm a nurse hehe

so now they let us believed the Brody and Nazir action can be justified? because America just killed 82 children WTH they make them crusader for justice and the oppressed?
I don't think the producers of the show is trying to justify anything. What they are trying to do is for the viewers to understand what drives a certain character. Nazir, for instance, it's no doubt that the guy is smart, calculating and charming at the same time. Don't take me wrong, he's not innocent but I truly believed, even then, that Aisa or Isa was his son. I know there's been speculations that Issa was planted by Nazir to influence Brody but that was debunked by Saul's revelations to Carrie at the hospital.

As far as Brody, he's a very intelligent man and he's a bit like Nazir, but he's not an extremist. During that scene where Brody was about to detonate the vest, the first time, he had no hesitation whatsoever. On his second attempt, the only thing that stood in the way was Dana. Like Carrie mentioned on the previous episode, torture is not how you can get to a terrorist, find what makes a him human and you will get your answers.

Damian Lewis was simply brilliant in this episode. I thought he was superb last episode, but this epi just blew that out of the water. Like Caramba said, the almost "suicide vest" mission thingy was so intense.

Whew, that was a mouthful. I really do love this show

finally, napanood ko rin ang last 4 episodes. nakapagbackread na rin ako since my last post, ang daming nagpost grabe, 2 pages ang binackread ko

    anyways, makikicomment lang...

on Aisa/Issa and the school bombing incident, I thought both were planted by Nazir. i thought, he probably found out about Brody's children and he took advantage of that. but, the last episode did disproved that.

now we have Brody's motivation on why he was willing to do what Nazir planned. like some of you have said, it doesn't mean that it justifies the end, but it showed what motivated or drive them to do it. the next question is, will Brody be able to follow through with his plans? he seems to start having 2nd thoughts about it.

Nazir's plan is quite brilliant btw, him using Walker and Brody against their own country. Most prob, the Americans watching this show will become more paranoid (well, hopefully not!).

Just want to add my congratulations to Clare Danes and Damien Lewis for their well deserved GG nominations

    pahabol....

    Carrie: Virgil, am i crazy?
Virgil: Look you know you are
    Carrie: I mean about Brody

    hehe...accepted na lukaret sya

Have yet to watch the rest of season 1, but the pilot really hooked me. Not really my type of show but dang, Claire Danes is phenom. I've always liked her since her My So Called Life days and even amidst her calling the Philippines a nasty, nasty place.

    MUST. RESIST. URGE. TO. BACKREAD.

I just marathoned this show over the holidays and I think I finished the entire season in 2 days. Granted, I started watching it late afternoon, then slept, then continued the next morning. So maybe within 24 hours. Haha! :P

I agree with this. When I was watching the series it quickly turned into a guessing game for me. Is he or is he not? Is she right or just crazy? What are each character's motivations? What happened to them in the past that led them to where they are? Questions, questions, questions...

The show is just brilliant and engaging in a 24-esque kind of way, though perhaps this is more because the writers of the show are from 24? :P

Still, that last episode nearly gave me a heart attack. I couldn't give enough praise for Damian Lewis -- THAT FACE!!! The tears, the sweat, shaking face muscles... UGH. Incredible! That deserves an award!

i'm actually more curious about how americans perceive this show. clearly, at least to me lol, the producers are lefties because no conservative will put the american government in a negative light like this show does.

but yeah, i also wonder how the middle east perceives it because the producers tried to humanize nazir, as opposed to pure evil as what we're led to believe and i think they did a good job with that.

From the reviews that I've been reading, this show's a critical darling. The premise is not as issue as this was not the first time a tv show tackled terrorism, post 9-11.

    THIS.
I still think it's a good show, despite what someone here is saying

Yep, it's not the first show to tackle terrorism, but I don't think a lot of shows humanize terrorists like they do on this show, but that's me.

To starter_01, you seem to hate the show, I don't get why you have to come here and call the fans "blind" sorry ha, i need to get my eyes checked pa, siguro nga i need new glasses

at the end of the day, this is a TV show, it's not a documentary for crying out loud. I'm not saying this show is perfect, but it sure is a lot of better than other shows out there (besides BB of course), with regards to acting, dialogue etc.

Like I've always said, this show, just like breaking bad is about character development. Seems to me you don't appreciate these kinda shows and that's cool with me, but to call the fans "blind" then that's just arrogance on your part

  16. #95
HAHAHAHA. Haters to the left. I actually love this show. Sorry I finished this first before Breaking Bad.

Yes you were being arrogant by calling people names. It seems to me that the show disappointed you and I can respect that. I love the show and so do others who post here. You can talk about your gripes about the show, this is what this forum is about. Personal attacks = arrogance in your part.

  20. #98
Hey guys, let's go back to talking about the show.

sTaRter_01 - You've said your piece, if you have nothing else to say about the show then best if you leave this thread. You won't be watching the new episodes anyway since you think the show is crap. Thanks for your posts.

To the others, yeah, that was what I was referring to when I posted about someone calling me a blind fantard indirectly. Because I like the show. I've been trying my best not to be snarky lest I go against the User Agreement (bashing) - it's really hard, but we gotta do it.

I take consolation in the fact that most of my friends (not on PEx but in real life) who like the show are the smart ones.

Back to the show! Ok, so when will it come back?

Ok, personal attacks and exchanges will now be deleted.

    Just a general reminder...

Hindi bawal dito ang mag-Tagalog. It's much better to post in Tagalog versus posting in English if what you post will not make sense anyway because of all the errors. Somehow, it ruins the flow of the discussion.
