Live with it pre mahina ang UST Growling Tigers this year! Huwag ipagyabang ang next season dahil di pa ito nangyayari!

You were the one who claimed Slaughter didn't get the call from Gilas. You thought I didn't remember? That means the burden of proof lies in your hands, not me.

And I've already provided proof so many times about my argument. How about yours?

And yet you refuse to answer any of my questions.

Some people should understand the fine line between truth and presumptions.

You know in the practice of law, evidence must be presented by the accuser. Now what evidence do you have that Ateneo hindered Slaughter from playing Wuhan?

Please huwag na magpakabading, sagutin ng diretsahan yung tanong ang dami pang palabok eh. Para kang Atayde na putak lang ng putak wala namang maipakita.

You know what's the problem. People continue to paint Ateneo in a bad light with baseless accusations and unfounded rumors. When asked objectively, they can't seem to answer the question.

YES or NO, did Ateneo hinder Greg from playing in Wuhan?

YES or NO, did Coach Rajko send a call-up to Greg to play for Gilas?

    Simple questions. Simple answers.

semper necessitas probandi incumbit ei qui agit

because some people can't understand simple English, maybe in Latin they would.

Did Slaughter play in Wuhan? Yes or No

What is your proof that Slaughter didn't get a call from Gilas?

If Slaughter was really playing for flag and country, why the need to fight for his eligibility this year since the Wuhan tournament coincides with the UAAP?

Since rules of the UAAP can be bent through a vote, the UAAP could have allowed Slaughter to play next year and a year after so he could concentrate on the Wuhan tournament which is main objective of the Gilas program. But why the rush to have him play this year?

Why were there three against in allowing him to play if it were really clear cut that he's eligible?

What was the reason ADMU got him from UV, where he was virtually untouchable, in the first place anyway?

I believe it will be Ateneo vs. UST for '75.

Ateneo - still a powerhouse team (Salva, Slaughter, Ravena, Golla, Gonzaga). Will not be an easy year for them to defend the crown and carve their 5-peat championship. Expect other teams (NU, UST) to be more fierce to win their games against a Supremacy in Basketball. They lost Monfort, a really good Free throw line shooter (which Ateneo has an edge, especially that Monfort is a reliable assistant). But I guess they will be eager to defend their title.

UST (Abdul, Camus, Afuang/Ferrer, Fortuna, Teng). If the younger Teng will be playing for the Tigers, much better. They got the good deep bench, Bautista and Mariano will also be back. Not to mention other players like Vigil, Lao, Sheriff and Robin Tan. Outside shooting (which the Tigers are good at) will be fortified with the tirumvirate of Bautista, Teng and Fortuna. Rebound + Outside shooting = MONSTER

Good year for the Tigers to snare the title after 5 years (and not by a Cinderella story).

Adamson will go down because some of their key players won't be playing anymore (Canada, Alvarez, Colina, Lozada). Will Nuyles still play for his 5th year?

For FEU, I think it will not be their year next season. I expect them to be in the Top 4, but the highest would be fourth. They were demoralized and denied twice, masakit talaga 'yon.

As for National University, really a dark horse for the Final 4. They showed enough this season, and they will definitely improve (especially that they will be the host). (MBE, Singh, Rayray, Labing isa, Cabrera)

De La Salle Univeristy - good for 5th/6th. Kahit makuha pa nila si Jeron Teng, I guess as a whole team not a Final 4 dark horse.

Anyways, bilog ang bola. Pero sa tingin ko mangyayari naman ang mga sinabi ko Let's see sa mga off season tourneys nila.

  6. #146
Actually sayang nga ang Adamson dahil sila ang mayroong pinaka talented na players among all 8 schools.

Yes NU will be the dark horse next year where UST was this year. But I will give DLSU that label if the coaching dilemma is resolved immediately.

^ Nakakasayang lang si Alex at Alvarez.

  8. #148
^ according to wikipedia, Nuyles is in his 4th year. Alvarez, Canada, Colina and Lozada are in their final year. ang tindi ng mawawala sa roster nila. pero nung huling game ng Adamson I've heard Nuyles will still play next year.

pinaka nakakahinayang talaga para sa akin ay si Lozada. very underrated but is a solid player especially his outside shots.

Those are unfounded speculations. The Buzz lang kumbaga.
Correct. chot wins championship bec. of loaded line-up. classic example is the petron-talkntexts finals. he's just atenean with many connection. talkers.

Its gunna be admu vs NU/FEU.
Dude, I ain't exactly a fan of UST but among all the teams, UST has the best chance of meeting Ateneo in the Finals because they have an intact core of veterans and talented players and they have a promising African center in Karim Abdul. FEU won't reach the finals again. This was their last chance.

And natawa ako sa speculation mo of NU entering the finals. Yan ang nakakatawa. I can't even see them in the Final 4. They are still an inexperienced and young team. All the money and talent in the world cannot buy you experience. They will be up against more experienced rosters in FEU, UST, Adamson, DLSU, and Ateneo.

I know who are the players that NU hide in their team B. I must say that I am impressed with their talent. As I said, no matter how talented the team B players of NU are, they are not mature and experienced enough to bring NU to the Finals level or even the Final Four level next year. They still haven't experienced the real competition in the seniors division. No amount of coaching, money, or talent can beat the experience of veteran teams like Ateneo, FEU, UST, Adamson, or even DLSU.

Maybe in Season 76, NU will become the contender you dream of. But, as of now, next year will just be another early vacation for them.

Championship teams aren't based on talent alone.

  15. #153
^ Yun nga din daw ang balita. It seems NU's team B is very talented, and some maybe even more talented "daw" than team A players.

If a couple of players will be elevated to team A from team B, even if it's too early to tell, all the more that NU will still be my pick to be the dark horse of season 75.

makisingit lang pre. clarification lang din

No ba sagot dito? was it MVP who called Greg to play for Gilas? sino ba bumuo ng Smart Gilas? tapos si Greg din nagsabi na kaya siya magtransfer sa ADMU eh para malapit sa training ng Gilas?

UAAP SEASON 74: LOOKING BACK & MOVING FORWARD
A review of Season 74 and a preview of Season 75 possibilities for each team.
Each team will be broken down according to the following aspects:
    - This season's best: The best thing that happened in S74 for that team -- can be a performance, a game, a streak or a player/coach.
    - This season's worst: The complete inverse of the above.
    - Next season's big opportunity: Something the team can build on for next season.
    - Next season's threat: Something that might dampen the team's chances next season.

*Each aspect will be discussed briefly.
**Teams are arranged according to final placings (from last to first).

    UP Fighting Maroons:
S74's Best: Beating FEU in the first round and making their fans entertain thoughts of a winning record.
S74's Worst: Losing all of their 9 games after beating FEU. They seemed to get worse as the season wound up.
S75's Big Opportunity: Jett Manuel and Jelo Montecastro proved to be a terrific tandem at times. Should they find some measure of consistency, UP might continue to enjoy another 200% increase in their win column (that would make just 6, though).
S75's Big Threat: If UP's history is be the chief basis, then nobody should really get his/her hopes up that the players will develop (look at what happened to Woody Co, Martin Reyes, and Mike Gamboa) into big time stars. Then again, coach Ricky Dandan seems to be resilient enough to turn things around.

    UE Red Warriors:
S74's Best: Winning 2 more wins than most people thought they would, which is to say winning exactly 2 games.
S74's Worst: Ken Acibar leaving in the middle of the summer.
S75's Big Opportunity: Roi Sumang, Chris Javier, and Adrian Santos lead a promising young core that should still be better than most of UP's veterans.
S75's Big Threat: Trigger-happy JM Noble will be the de facto leader, which might mean he'll take even more shots than he ought to.

    DLSU Green Archers:
S74's Best: Welcome back LA Revilla!
S74's Worst: Getting bashed by many of their own fans.
S75's Big Opportunity: New coach. New system. New recruits. New backer. New beginnings. Nowhere to go but up.
S75's Big Threat: The way they played this past season, it seems no Archer has a sure slot next year, which could be a good thing, because it seems some players haven't lived up to expectations the past few seasons (Hey, I don't mean Joshua Webb or Sam Marata! Really! Cross my heart!).

    NU Bulldogs:
S74's Best: Ray Parks winning the MVP award by filling up the stat sheet practically on a daily basis.
S74's Worst: Ray Parks winning the MVP award and NU STILL missing the Final Four.
S75's Big Opportunity: Nobody's leaving. They'll all be back, and they'll all be tougher.
S75's Big Threat: NU will be hosting Season 75 -- the pressure to have a breakout season might be too much.

    UST Growling Tigers:
S74's Best: Jeric Teng shooting the lights out in some of the season's biggest games.
S74's Worst: Jeric Teng doing the "bang-bang" gesture after every big shot in some of the season's biggest games.
S75's Big Opportunity: Like NU, UST's core will be solid next season, and coach Pido Jarencio seems to have actually improved as a bench tactician.
S75's Big Threat: Clark Bautista will be back, but there will still only be one ball to share. Can UST handle yet another volume shooter?

    AdU Soaring Falcons:
    S74's Best: Beating Ateneo! Finally!
    S74's Worst: Twice-to-beat. Twice beaten.
S75's Big Opportunity: Rodney Brondial had some shining moments, and he should see more daylight with the graduation of Jan Colina.
S75's Big Threat: Aside from Colina, Adamson's whole backcourt core won't return (Janus Lozada, Lester Alvarez and Jerick Cañada). It seems the Falcons' best days are now behind them.

    FEU Tamaraws:
S74's Best: Overwhelming Adamson in the Final Four despite the absence of key players (JR Cawaling, Pipo Noundou, and Christian Sentcheu).
S74's Worst: Losing Noundou to an ACL injury before the season even started.
S75's Big Opportunity: Another Bringas is coming to town. He should make a big difference.
S75's Big Threat: I don't think even two Bringases can fill an Aldrech Ramos-sized hole.

    AdMU Blue Eagles:
    S74's Best: Four-peat.
S74's Worst: No sweep, and no Ryan Buenafe.
S75's Big Opportunity: Buenafe SHOULD be back, and another dose of championship experience always helps.
S75's Big Threat: Greg Slaughter can opt to forego his final year of eligibility, and nobody knows for sure what his choice will be until perhaps a few months into 2012.
