Even before that, year-in, year-out, Ateneans have been getting the lion share of tickets. So it has nothing to do with the naming rights. After all,Ticketnet is responsible for handling ticket distribution.

Pag naranasan nyo na pumila at 1AM for tickets being sold at 10AM and wala pa rin kayo nakuha, saka kayo magreklamo.
Nung pumipila pa ako sa BEG when I was in college, pag pumila ka ng 6am sa booths na magoopen at 10AM wala ka na aabutang upper B (at least for important games). That's how much Ateneans want to get tickets.
By Miriam, I think the original post meant Miriam College and not Miriam...Defensor Santiago.I beg to disagree. I have cousins who earned undergrad degrees at UPd and UPm and took up and earned graduate degrees at Ateneo but remained solid UP loyalists. One of those cousins of mine, in fact, hated it so much that he has to take up his graduate studies at Ateneo instead of UPd or at a prestigious school abroad. I'm sure this is just a small sample, so it's inconclusive. Yet it's enough to counter argue your claim that once a student has enrolled in Ateneo would, all of a sudden, become a die-hard Ateneo fan. Perhaps Miriam supports Ateneo's basketball team. But that is something expected from Miriam as her children (who all did not pass UPCAT) all went to Ateneo college. But did it cross your mind which team would Miriam be siding on in a game between the two Katipunan schools, AdMU, and the more prestigious one, UP? I think the answer to that is very clear and you've guessed it.
Anyway.
For in-campus selling, Ateneans line up as early as 4AM/5AM just to get tickets for in demand games. That's how badly many of the students want to watch the games. If they're not able to get tickets in school (I think only 200+ are allotted to the undergrads), they line up in Araneta during game day or they look for other sellers. I've lined up for SRO tickets in Araneta twice. For yesterday's game and once for an ADMU-DLSU game. Sobrang haba. You can tell that people have been waiting there as early as 8/9/10 AM. Maybe even earlier.
My point: Madaming die-hard fans ang Blue Eagles. It was 70% Blue, 30% Gold yesterday in Araneta. Ateneans don't get special treatment--nasa level lang yan ng pagka-die hard.![]()
I think the only ones that can rival ateneans in 'camping out' are u.p. students -- pre-CRS era![]()
kontolado nila ang negosyo. cartel ng ticket. kaya sa The Arena na ang negosyohan next year. hihihi huhuhu![]()
before it was disallowed, ateneans would camp out the blue eagle gym to get tickets. i personally experienced lining up at 430 am. a couple of years ago, a girl was already sitting outside the ticket booth around lunch time but tickets weren't going to be released until the next day.
the original schedule of game 2 was a tuesday. after ateneo dominated game 1 and game 2 being on a weekday, it's a reasonable hypothesis that less feu fans even planned on watching game 2.
plain and simple, Ateneans believe that their basketball team can deliver, WIN or LOSE.
During the dark ages, we would never be able to match the number of green shirts, even with ROTC hordes in tow. Lalo na nung DLSU was in their own 4-peat run.
And Ateneo - La Salle games were the only ones with a decent amount of fans from ADMU. Kahit Final Four we were always outnumbered.
champeon na din kame ng Jrs. Next year pagtsatsatambakan namen kayo sa The Arena. Bwahahahaha![]()
FYI, this is the FIRST TIME since the Final Four era that the host school won the championship. Bakit nung host ang FEU, for example, last year eh di FEU ang nag-champion?
For this Finals, we bought tickets from ADMU (aside from the season tickets bought even before the season of each year starts), Araneta Center and FEU ticket holders (who happened to sell their tickets for a higher price para kumita lang). So, if you say that we dealt with scalpers...SCALPERS ang FEU community bale? Tama ba yun?
In my opinion bro, if FEU fans really wanted to support their MBT, WIN or LOSE, they would find ways to get the tickets they needed. AdU managed to get the tickets they wanted so they can watch the semis LIVE in Araneta. FEU lang talaga, puro excuses about not having equal chances with the ticket distribution. Kulang lang talaga sa abilidad or the simply do not support their school as much as they say they do. All Bark but no Bite...
Both I guess. Mas kailangan lang ang pera for other more important things.
i wouldnt be surprised IF Ateneans will STILL be getting the lion's share of tickets next year kahit sa NU-MOA Arena pa yan. the Blue Eagles will be gunning for a historic FIVE-PEAT and the Atenean 6th Man and BBB is a powerful weapon crucial in attaining this goal.
kahit Ateneo vs. NU pa ang laro, sigurado 70-30 nanaman ang hati ng crowd with the Blue side getting most of the seats.![]()
When they finally released the tickets the next morning, upper b na lang naabutan namin.
And this was just for the Final 4 game against UE.
As a matter of fact, minsan kasama talaga mga yaya and drivers namin.
Didn't get to work the whole day at all. Pagkakuha ko ng 2 tickets ko, upper B. The Atenean before me got the last upper A tickets. Yes, that was also 2 years ago. After that, our friends with season tickets supply us na with the tickets we need in case we want to watch. Dami kasi nilang season tickets sa family kaso a lot of the members almost always travel to the US for business kaya di nagagamit. She simply GIVES the tickets to us. Swerte nga namin bro.![]()
