hi doc, I have clicking in the right jaw with no pain whenever I open my mouth wide. I'm also having frequent headaches, neck, shoulder and back pain, also pain in the right ear. I had it check by ENT and he said that ok nmn ang ears ko. so I told him about sa clicking ng jaw, he recommended for an xray and the result was limited movement in the right jaw and asked me to consult a TMJ specialist. He also prescribed a muscle relaxant, myonal. I have braces before pero it was removed almost two years ago pa pero recently ko lang npansin ang jaw clicking, not sure how long it has been there since I dont feel any pain.
Pls pm me kung meron kang list of TMJ specialist that you can refer dito s manila. I read n medyo mahal ang TMJ treatment but I have medicard and was hoping na sana macover sya para less din ang magastos q hopefully.

from las pinas e.. and work sa munti.

im just bithered and dont know what to do.. i dont have migraines or clicking sounds.. basta masakit lang yung left jaw area ko kapag kumakain.. and i kant ssem to bite my teeth together w/o pain anymore..

^sigh_hwatalyf what you are experiencing may not necessarily be TMD (temporomandibular joint disorder). Perhaps you have an infected tooth or perhaps even an impacted wisdom tooth or something else altogether. I'll send a pm with referrals to clinics that can assess your condition.

i already had my teeth checked with a regulr dentist and she said their doesnt seem to be anything wrong with my teeth.. and adviced me to check with a tmj specialist if it persists after a week.. unfortunately it persisted after being gone for almost a week.. it went back.. ny teeth dont hurt when i touch or press it..

^ loochaluchazz I've replied via PM. Splint therapy is not finished in 1 appointment. It can actually take several appointments to finish. Also cost of treatment is not bundled ( as I've mentioned in my PM). Each procedure is charged separately ( cost for TMD treatment, cost of braces if you need braces, cost for other procedures ). For braces alone cost is P100,000.

I seldom experience this when I'm yawning. Just a while ago I was brought to the hospital since my TMJ dislocation lasted for 2 hours. I thought I was gonna have a surgery or something when I was brought to the ER. Wew madali lang pala. Yung pull down the lower jaw, then push a little bit.

Doc, any self treatment for TMJ dislocation aside from the one used by my doctor? Yung ako lang mag-isa ang gagawa? thanks.

^ When yawning, try to limit the opening of your mouth. When eating, cut your food into small pieces instead of say biting on a whole apple. Avoid eating guava or similar foods that are big and hard. Warm compress on the sides of your head, placed 1 mm in front of your ear canal will also help when you feel you are experiencing difficulty in opening or closing your mouth ... just make sure there is no active infection inside your mouth as the heat can attract pus (nana) to it and you will end up with a big hole on your face.

hi, i was diagnosed with tmj.. first symptom ko ay ear pain, pero ngayon wala na, problem lang when i eat or swallow medyo masakit sa isang side na meron tmjd.. kasama ba yun sa mga symptoms?

im wearing a splint now, pero parang nahihirapan ako iopen yung jaw ko ans with clicking sound kapag suot ko yung splint..
