Rupert Grint and Olympic Torch Race: 'I Don't Usually Run for Anything'

With a complete Harry Potter career under his belt, Rupert Grint has stated that he no longer makes a run for things these days. The 23 year-old actor did, however, make an exception Wednesday as he made a dash with the Olympic torch.

The star took the Olympic torch for a leg through Northwest London on Wednesday, but was mobbed just before he finished the walk, turning his stroll into a run.
"I don't usually run for anything, but it was all downhill so I was OK," Grint said to the Associated Press. "It was all a bit of a blur. I'm just so proud to be a part of it."
For some, watching the Harry Potter star who played Ron Weasley carry the torch seemed remnant of the Goblet of Fire. His walk was part of an 8,000-mile relay, which has gone on for over 70 days and has been joined by at least 8,000 people. The relay will end on Friday as the Olympic games begin. The last torchbearer will light the cauldron at the opening ceremony, and then "let the games begin."

Some Harry Potter fans were beside themselves with excitement to watch Grint take a leg in the 8,000-mile race.
"OMG!!! THIS IS A REALLY BIG MOMENT FOR RUPERT! And I'm saying this from the bottom of my heart, no lie! You deserve to run carrying the 'Goblet of Fire'! You, Dan and Emma have given us HP fans a blast! Thanks so much!" one user wrote on the Entertainment Weekly blog.

"I wouldn't have recognized him! little ron weasley all grown up!" another user added.

14 Best Movie Franchise Finales -- and 10 Worst!

    BEST
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows — Part 2 (2011)

    Installment:
    Eighth
Biggest Surprise: Fans may have cried foul when the final book was split into two movies, but the decision allowed for a satisfying finale that translated big moments such as the Battle at Hogwarts and Harry's ''post-death'' conversation with Dumbledore in a way that held up to our imaginations. The final moments — awkward old age makeup and all — simply reminded us that we weren't just saying goodbye to Hogwarts, we were saying goodbye to our childhoods (even for those of us who are already all grown up). All was well. —Erin Strecker

Voldemort: What doesn't kill you make you stronger
Seamus Finnigan: Tonight, we are young, so let's set the world on fire
Harry Potter: Who do you think you are, running 'round leaving scars?
Weasley twins: Baby you're a firework
