TV5 ranks No. 1 on Sunday primetime
    Posted 10 days Tweet
    ago Tweet

The Kapatid Network reigned supreme in the highly-coveted primetime block (6pm to 10pm) last Sunday (September 18) with 8.5% AMR (28.8% audience share) as compared to ABS-CBN’s 8.3% AMR (28.1% audience share) and GMA’s 7.8% AMR (26.5% audience share), data from Nielsen Media Research in Mega Manila showed. Boosted by the formidable program lineup of Comedy King Dolphy’s Pidol’s Wonderland (5:30pm), Aga Muhlach’s Pinoy Explorer (6:30pm), Bossing Vic Sotto’s Who Wants to Be a Millionaire? (7:30pm) and Ryan Agoncillo’s Talentadong Pinoy (8:30pm), TV5’s Sunday primetime block continues to raise the bar in offering shows that highlight moral values, education and Pinoy pride.

With the premiere of Pinoy Explorer, the biggest edutainment program to ever air on Philippine TV, Sunday primetime becomes even more entertaining and informative for viewers of all ages, with Aga Muhlach taking everyone to the world-renowned Wyoming Dinosaur Center in the US. The show revealed the world of dinosaurs through 3D clips from the “Clash of the Titans” series and BBC’s “Walking with Dinosaurs.”

Pinoy Explorer pilot episode posted an impressive 8.3% AMR or a total of 1,975,813 absolute viewers – 84,295 more than ABS-CBN’s TV Patrol Weekend’s 1,891,518 (7.9% AMR); and 465,543 viewers more than GMA’s 24 Oras Weekend’s 1,510,270 (6.3% AMR).

Meanwhile, Who Wants to Be a Millionaire? was the most-watched program across the day (2am to 2am) with 11.1% AMR (33.6% audience share). The September 18 episode of the world’s most famous game show made history after 28-year-old Karl Jonathan Aguilar won P2 million, the first non-celebrity to win the jackpot. Often teased since his childhood because of his cleft palate, Karl buried himself in studying and reading books while growing up. This absorption of knowledge paid off as he played his game with pure smoothness, delighting host Bossing Vic Sotto to no end.

TV5’s telecast of the much-awaited Star Power: Mayweather vs. Ortiz boxing bout was also the most-watched daytime offering last Sunday both in Mega Manila and Nationwide Urban Philippines. According to Nielsen’s NUTAM data, the Floyd Mayweather vs Victor Ortiz fight posted a 10.5% AMR, outpunching the 5% AMR of ABS-CBN’s ASAP Rocks and the 4.6% AMR of GMA’s Party Pilipinas.

    - I am happy how TV5 is doing their press releases. They also use demographics in their ads. How T3 is number one among male adults and Pinoy Explorer number one among the "kids" demo, though I don't know the age bracket of those considered "kids". LOL!!

It is full August because it covered the whole month of August, August 1 -31, 2011. Tama naman diba?

The fact that August 28-31 data were from the overnight readings also known as the "fast ratings" is irrelevant. With just one time zone and just a number of local/regional shows that affects the actual ratings the difference between the overnight and official ratings is almost immaterial.

Maria La Del Barrio Continues to Dominate Pre-Primetime Slot

    September 30, 2011 by ABS-CBN

Maria la del Barrio continues to rule over national TV ratings on its pre-primetime slot.

Based on the latest Kantar Media/TNS, Maria la del Barrio, topbilled by Erich Gonzales and Enchong Dee, remains on top in the national TV ratings game versus rival program.

Last Monday (Sept. 26) Maria la del Barrio garnered a national TV rating of 24.9% while GMA7’s ‘Futbolilits’ only registered 15.8%. The next day (Sept. 27), the hit teleserye got a 20% national TV rating versus 10.2% of the rival program.

Viewers will surely get hooked even more especially now that the plot is getting more exciting. Now that the furniture expo is bound to conclude, will Maria (Erich) and Luis (Enchong) reap the rewards of their hardwork? Or will Victoria (Angel Aquino), as one of the expo judges, will get in the way?

Under the direction of Rory B. Quintos and Richard Somes, never miss the hot revelations and dramatic scenes in Maria la del Barrio, weeknights, after Reputasyon on ABS-CBN.

at parang sinabi mo na rin na PEP lang ang source ng TV ratings.

for me, gusto ko yung tamang TV Ratings Result like yung data na inilabas from Kantar Media na dapat merong Nationwide, Mega Manila, Luzon, Visayas at Mindanao. Then top 20 daytime at top 20 primetime for the week. Maganda yun.

At sana, tigilan na yung press releases na masyadong misleading, lalo na if hindi commanding yung result. Parang insecure tuloy ang dating.

yung Classic Example talaga ay yung No. 1 News Channel (daw)

"saan ka pa? VHF News Channel vs. UHF News Channel vs. Cable News Channel. kahit grade schooler alam ang agwat o difference ng viewers if binabasehan ang Tamang frequency at area coverage."
may masabi lang talaga. how sad.

bakit walang ratings ang TV5? di ba AGB subscriber sila? paano mararamdaman ng tao na may TV5 kung hindi pinapakita ang ratings?

They are but they go for the People ratings more than the Household ratings.

Kantar Media/TNS has people meters but they don't seem to release it.

Screw the rating points, they should release the number of viewers instead like Nielsen (not AGB Nielsen) does here in the United States.

National TV Ratings: September 26-29, 2011 (Kantar Media/TNS)

ABS-CBN Dominates Primetime, GMA-7 Rules Daytime

    October 2, 2011 by cd

Kantar Media National TV Ratings for the period September 26 to 29, 2011) – “100 Days to Heaven” is still the most-watched TV program nationwide.
