May I start by posting my Friday rant?

Where to start?




This was such a fast-paced, thrilling episode that left me breathless. I think I went through the whole gamut of emotions from anger to shock to sadness to joy and then back to shock and so much more.

First, I must react to Jack:



In the span of a single episode, he discovered several important secrets that none of the main cast has succeeded in unearthing.

Jack > Bruce,Jopet,Bobby,Miranda,Miranda's investigator,Bart, and everyone else who has tried to find the truth

Bravo, John Lloyd, Bravo!

He is one topnotch policeman, a true BAMF. One of the few people who could duel wits with THE Madame Anna Manalastas.

He's the only guest star who has been the most involved in the main plot. As much as I admire him, I'm still torn between considering him a brilliant addition to the cast or a very convenient plot device. (JLC is awesome and I hope he will play a more active role in a few more episodes so that his story arc isn't so random and so necessary-to-advance-the-plot. His backstory is interesting enough and he has the potential of being a useful ally to Madame and Sophia when the fight for the Toy Company begins.)

Either way, his presence is the catalyst that will set the story moving on a faster pace. There is no time left to lose.



Not of the show, of course, but of the elaborate masquerade they have all been playing.

It's annoying that he is too caught up in his personal prove-myself issue that he would give Anna and Sophia away to Bobby and Miranda, but we can't be sure. (The writers pull out a lot of tricks from their hats, after all.) And even if he does tell them, I wonder what is going to happen next. This is the calm before the storm.


Anna and Sophia are about to embark on their most challenging mission yet - accepting each other and then dealing with everyone else. It is going to be epic.




On Bart/Sophia:



As much as I love the ship, this week, the scenes have been painfully repetitive. There's practically a formula:

Bart: You lied to me.

Sophia: I'm sorry. But I can't tell you everything right now.

Bart: Why not?

Sophia: I just can't.

Bart: (angry) Then, you betrayed my trust. I can't accept that.

Sophia: (cries)

and REPEAT

Ugh. I'm trying to be fair. Both are at fault (in varying degrees).

Sophia should have just defied Madame and trusted Bart with the whole truth.

Bart should have just trusted Sophia and stopped nagging her about it.

Their scenes were painful and annoying. I haven't seen Sophia cry so much about ANYTHING like she cries about Bart. At this point, I'm inclined to think he REALLY doesn't deserve her. But I know he still loves her and hopefully at one point, he will truly fight for her.

And as understanding as I am trying to be about his confusion and hurt, I still find him hypocritical. After all that big talk of "whatever you're hiding, I'M SURE I'LL UNDERSTAND" and all of a sudden he can't understand.



Because honestly, his claim of "going against Kuya Bobby" for her was a little weak to me. It was a big deal for Bart, of course, since he spent all his life in the shadow of Bobby. But come on, compared to all the things Sophia has gone through in her life, puh-lease.

Don't get me wrong, I'm still an avid shipper. But those two better sort things out SOON because Sophia's going to be dealing with a greater hurdle when she finds out who she really is.


Oh, and let me debut my latest macro:



I am not threatened by her at all. But I am extremely annoyed.

YOU CAN'T HIRE BART TO BE YOUR BOYFRIEND. HE ISN'T AN ESCORT.

That scene in the preview was just SO CLICHE!



And as frustrated as I am with Bart, I KNOW THAT HE WOULD NEVER EVER GET BACK TOGETHER WITH Vomitgirl. And if Sophia can even think that, then she really must be severely confused. But I can understand if she would want to break up with him then. All the emotional turmoil was getting out of hand and I think she would just want to be free of all that crap for a while.

I'm also glad that it will be Sophia breaking up with Bart (and I loved the cold, confident tone of her voice - Sophia's back!) Then, he would have to prove himself and fight for her and suffer a long painful process of trying to win her back before it is too late.


Yes. I am looking forward to THAT. Among other things. As usual, I can only say of this show :
