For a change, Ryan will play ringmaster to very young contestants starting this Sunday. (Bernard Testa, Interaksyon.com)

Ryan Agoncillo says the rumors that Talentadong Pinoy, TV5s top-rated talent search, will go off the air are true.

The show will take a hiatus after Season 3 concluded with a spectacular Battle of Champions last weekendbut only to give away to the first ever Talentadong Pinoy Kids Edition.

The special edition, for contestants 10 years old and below, will start on May 19 and run for several weeks. The first auditions for the Kids Edition was held Tuesday at SM Bicutan.

Hindi ko sigurado ang exact number of weeks kung gaano siya katagal, pero special edition siya for children, Ryan told the media right after the results night of the grand finals on Sunday.

The 33-year-old host was ecstatic because he had learned that the performance night on Saturday topped the ratings for its timeslot and even trended on Twitter.

He felt it was sweet vindication for the program, which has had its highs and lows since it premiered in 2008.

Nag-number one. Medyo umalog sa rating. Umakyat ulit, di ba? he said.

So, kumbaga, buong-buo na kami sa experiences namin, and to come out number one from last night, nakakatuwa. Hopefully, ngayong gabi rin. Its a nice feeling, Ryan added.

To add to his elation, his personal favorite among the eight finalists, Filipino-American hula hoop and fire dancer Daniel Darwin, also known as Astroboy, ran away with the grand prize.

Ryan had declined to name his bet prior to the finale as a matter of professional courtesy. But he admitted that he and his staff have a tradition of putting up a private betting pool every grand finals of the show.

As the host of the program, he was the first person to see the name written on the envelope announcing the winner.

He also showed it to his wife Judy Ann Santos and superstar Nora Aunor, who had served as special talent scouts for the grand finals, before telling the audience.

Nanalo ako sa pustahan namin ng staff! he said.

He wasnt the only one who got it right.

Actually, marami kaming pumusta sa kanya. Maganda ang laban kasi sa online survey naman lumabas yung Dancing is Fun, he revealed.

Kaya talagang very close battle for everyone. So were very happy for them.

Of course, it can be argued that the nights biggest winner was Ryan himself.

He has reached another career milestone with Talentadong Pinoy, a show he considers the closest to his heart in the long list of programs he has hosted since 1998.

Oo, akin to. Mahal na mahal ko ang programang ito kaya nakakatuwa, he said. Hindi lang dahil napakaganda ng show kundi napakaganda ng pakiramdam habang ginagawa namin ang show. Tuwang-tuwa kaming lahat.

MANILA, Philippines Actress Judy Ann Santos, who turned 33 years old on Friday, is "relaxed" and "at peace" with her current stage in life where she plays both wife to her husband Ryan Agoncillo, and mother to her children Yohan and Lucho.

Santos, who enjoys a blissful family life along with a thriving showbiz career, enthused she cannot wish for anything more for her birthday, saying she is only thankful for the continued blessings in her life.

"Healthy mga anak ko, so far, thank you Lord wala pa naman bonggang challenge na pumapasok sa aming mag-asawa ngayon, Santos said during a recent press event where she joined in awarding outstanding mothers.

With a family-showbiz lifestyle which she describes as an ideal setup, Santos thanked her supporters who continue to hail her as the superstar of her generation.

Sobra akong kalmado, sobrang relax. Very thankful ako, very thankful talaga ako na mas at peace na sitwasyon ako ngayon. Nagagawa kong magtrabaho at the same time ang pagiging mommy maging asawa na walang masyadong i-give-up na mga bagay-bagay so its an ideal setup actually.

Santos, who has been vocal about prioritizing her family over work, nonetheless continues to make strides in her career.

She recently finished filming for Mga Mumunting Lihim, a film entry to the upcoming Cinemalaya film festival, and is set to host the Philippine edition of reality culinary competition Master Chef.

From First Noel by Noel Ferrer
    FIRST CLASS MOMS.

Like a rebirth, no language can express the power and beauty and heroism of a mother’s love.

As we celebrate Mothers Day, allow me say state my THANK YOU piece to top showbiz personalities who are moms worthy of our admiration.

    1. ZSA ZSA PADILLA. Thank you dear, Zsazshing, for showing us that your love is very selfless. Your being a mom extends to people whom Tatang Dolphy sired with other partners—and that you have so lovingly shared yourself to them. Thank you for always being so real and good-natured!

    2. SHARON CUNETA. The billboards say that she has a big heart, and indeed she does. I have worked with and for her, and she has since become what I consider as a “wounded healer.”

    3. JUDY ANN SANTOS. She is the young superstar who is very grounded and not concerned about titles as she just lives her life the way she knows best. And yes, I only have the highest respect for this young mom and very dedicated wife. Juday is a very good inspiration to young moms who continuously evolve and becomes even better—yet still so unassuming, humble and yes, genuinely happy.

    4. VILMA SANTOS. She is not only Mother to his boys including her husband but a Mother of the province of Batangas. And shed has done well in both.

    5. NORA AUNOR. She had to catch up on lost bonding time with her children but very sincerely you would feel her concern for them. She is also mother hen to her very loyal fans. And now, the process should start where her supporters should organize their bid for her to be a Mother of Film Art as she is being considered for the National Artist honors.

Aside from my biological mom Connie Directo-Ferrer, and my other mom Shayne Nograles-Lumbera, and my industry moms Mel Tiangco, Jullie Yap-Daza, and Nanay Cristy Fermin, I would like to thank all the mothers for molding, nurturing and understanding us to the persons that we have become.
