Hi. My family (mom, dad, hubby and 4 yr old kid) will be going to HK on July 26-29. We'd be staying at my aunt's place in Fanling. Here's our itenerary:

    July 26 (Thu)
    Arrival at airport (9:40 am)
    Go to Fanling/Rest
    The Peak
    Avenue of Stars

    July 27 (Fri)
    Disneyland

    July 28 (Sat)
    Nan lian Garden
    Ngong Ping
    Shopping

    Day 4 (Sun)
    AM flight back to PH

Our little problem is this: my uncle would be the one meeting us in Fanling when we arrive, but he may not be able to if he is busy with work. If we have to wait until after office hours, we'd be stuck with our luggage and it would be difficult to go around. Any suggestions? Also, would we have difficulties in immigration if we don't have any hotel/hostel reservations? TIA.

It's not a problem if you dont have hotel reservations, just know the exact place where you will be staying in Fanling. We stayed at my lola's condo there and they didn't bother asking for a hotel reservations.

if they can't pick you up your choices are you ask for directions to your place in fanling since it's not really hard to find directions in hongkong since almost all has signs or labels especially on tourist spots. You may want to go to NP360 while waiting for your uncle or go shopping at citygates all places are near the airport or at Lantau island

Thanks jzanvern. Just another question: are there airport buses to Fanling? I checked Cityflyer, and I couldn't find Fanling in their route list. Do we take one of the Cityflyer bus and then transfer to another one to Fanling, or is there a direct bus going there? Thanks again.

i don't think they have that service, just shipping w/in Hong Kong. they don't even have shipping service to Macau. Anyway, Chuvaness (a popular blogger) buys stuff in Ikea/HK and ships them via door to door couriers that's aplenty in World-Wide Plaza, the mall in World Wide House between Connaught Road Central, Pedder Street and Des Voeux Road Central. She recommends Amazing Speed .

Also, what's in Shenzhen? Is it really worth the China VISA fee and time to visit? I really wanted to maximize our time in Hongkng kase nga 5 days sha. Of course we are also considering budget kase nga matagal kami dun. PLease help. Thanks!

I dont think they ship with Ikea. Pero you can try other couriers na for furnitures talaga.

My mom's friend, from Thailand <-> HKG naman.

Try calling their office. They have one in Makati and also in NAIA. Nasa website nila yung contact number. Mas hassle free kasi if you'll use credit card.

Iti is okay, i dont suggest going to Shenzhen, nothing much to see there. Roam around the busy streets of HongKong nalang. Or you may check page 1 for other activities that you can fill in for your last day.
