I guess the pressure and criticism got to him, I must admit that I also wanted to see another direction for the team, especially considering their potential, I hope it will be realized with the next head coach.

    It's a sad day...

    ... for Ateneo.

Regardless of whoever replaces Pumaren, La Salle's "dark age" will last for around another three years. This is because there will definitely be a new system, which requires adjustment by the current players, and the recruitment of new players. In other words, back to square one, which is why I hope La Salle doesn't expect instant results.

Currently, I expect them to continue the mindset of developing a team that will beat Ateneo, which means they'll try to specialize more on offense (i.e jump shots) and stopping fast breaks. Maybe Norbert Torres finally gets his wish and they decide to work on his 3-pointers.

Time din ng ibang teams muna. Feu's rebuilding has not born fruits yet if a championship is the end goal. Adu's dahan dahan but they have made strides since --- playoffs, then twice to beat advantage, and ofc that break of losing streak which will forever (well maybe not, but it will stay for a long time) be etched in the record books...and now they have to eliminate each other. Ust, ma di-displace yan ng Nu by next year. And the new kids on the block is Nu. Next year, final 4 contender yan. Kaya, on La Salle's part, it won't be as easy as just changing their coach* if their ultimate goal is to beat Ateneo.

*siguro kelangan matuto muna silang mag shoot ng bola at di lang sa free throws after all, that's what basketball is about.

    A little off-topic here:

    My Prediction:

    1Admu(obvious)
    2Feu(intact parin sila)
    3Nu(brp)
    4Ust(key players returning)
5AdU(some key players leaving?correct me if i'm wrong)
    6DLSU(new system)

Sa UST naman sabi nila malakas sila next year, sana atleast, with abdul in their lineup sure slot na sila sa F4.

Wow, resignation accepted immediately. Ni wala mang respectful period to at least give a semblance of being considered.

His own school did not give him a chance. Right after the loss to the Ateneo - second game pa lang yan, ha - he was being heavily castigated by the Lasal community .... fora, alumni, pundits. Even though he was winning in the first round, the vilification and the put-downs persisted. It is not surprising that the cumulative effect of these demoralizing actions by the so-called "supporters" created a poisonous 2nd round performance.

Which coach in his right mind would want such a job, (unless of course it is an offer one cannot refuse.) This basketball program has consistently displayed a penchant to BLAME sometimes without basis or reflection. That's why there's been an exodus of players through the years .... pati ba naman si Ferdinand, sinibak! (he-he) Nasaan na ang "never shall we fail" .... ang animo spirit kuno.

They will have a lot of drama coming their way. They will build up (false) hope. But what they've done to Dindo and to all the players they have maligned for the sake of winning-at-costs will always come back on them.

^ wow look who's talking, must have forgotten his school's past when they were not in their "glory" days!

it's obvious that some people love to criticize everything the school they envy so much does - what else is new?

^wow, the termite has resurfaced from the woodwork. Good luck to your new coach and your new players and your new hope. But there's only so much blame to go around. Masarap ba ang humble pie? Karma's a b*itch.

Yeah like the same way you people blamed Joe lipa and sandy arespaochaga during their time? Hehe I remember even tenorio threatened to go pro and give up his last year if sandy was not replaced.

And btw smart ***, Ferdinand is still with dlsu as a student and part of team b.

Resignation is obviously a lip-service, he was axed that's for sure.

  17. #37
^I don't know about that. His contract was going to expire in May, and La Salle had the option of "nicely" axing him by not renewing his contract.

. . . and why am i not surprised by what the oologists are saying?! one day they will realize, if they manage to get rid of their bird brains, that their criticisms are mere projections of what they are.
