i think Karim Abdul was subject to the Andrew Saldana/Cardona Rule .. for Fil-fors including full blooded foreigners who have studied abroad before coming to the Philippines, they should have studied in the Philippines for more than 2 years of HS. before becoming eligible to play for the UAAP Srs Division.
so Karim MAY have studied here (some obscure school in Marikina I think) for HS but maybe for only a year or two, thus was still subject to residency before becoming eligible for the UAAP. Kirk Long on the other hand, i think has been living and studying in the Philippines since Grade School in Faith International School in Antipolo, thus was not subject to residency.
This is BS. Majority of the universities in the country were established by FOREIGNERS. ADMU, DLSU and UST were all founded by foreign religious organizations, and now NU is owned by a CHINESE Taipan. How stupid is it to exclude foreigners when the unversities themselves were the result of foreigners?
Filipino pride is well and good but it has no place in UAAP competition. The UAAP already has a very strict rule against foreigners, only 1 foreigner can play at a time. That's good enough. With the influx of Fil-foreigners in the UAAP anyway foreign mercenaries like Abdul or Manyara are the only way other universities can compete with AVO, Parks and Slaughter, players who cheat the system by being filipino yet having a foreigner build thanks to their bloodlines.
my suggestion is
get former basketball national athletes and get them together
both should at least no go below 6 feet and let them mate
thats how yao ming was form, its instigated by the govt *** parents nya to magsama.
filipino pride yan oh! reklamo pa sa fil am e. im thinking if ever there is once a fil am that get otbe shaq like or tim duncan or tmac surely marami na susunod
^ I won't celebrate yet until these guys are enrolled.... Hopefully they do..
And what's with the hate? San Beda doesn't even have a foreign student athlete this season and yet they are already in the Finals. get a life hater.
I am too is amused with that guy's statements. First of all San Beda is member of NCAA. Second, San Beda has no Foreign athlete fielded this season.
That guy must be infatuated with San Beda. For all you know mga Fil-Foreigners din yung mga tinutukoy nyan. Racial discrimination and crab mentality consumed this guy's thinking.
I'm rooting for SBC to win NCAA S87.
Lanete for MVP!
