Domestic release na pala this Friday in the U.S.![]()
I'm gonna watch this tomorrow.
Ryan Gosling is on a roll.
When is this showing locally?
I hope they don't pull off a Hanna on this one wherein the SPECIAL SCREENING occur months after the DVD/Blu-ray release![]()
^ the film is not from a major movie outfit eh so it will likely take awhile here unless may mag pick up na distributor agad or may Oscar buzz pero most likely baka Jan or Feb ito kung mapapalabas dito (I think it will kasi Ryan Gosling ang bida so pwede sya ma-market dito).
Well Hanna was supposed to open here in June pa, supposedly wide release pero it disappeared sa movie listings until this month and naging Ayala cinemas exclusive na lang
Saw the movie earlier.
I'd rate it as a 9/10 simply because I like movies like this...where you get sudden 'controlled rage' and shocking moments. I guess I like violence in movies. lol.
My companion didn't enjoy it as much, saying it dragged on a bit.
Oh well. I liked Bronson and Valhalla as well. Looking forward to more Nicholas Winding Refn movies. I hope this is a start of a Gosling-Refn partnership![]()
^ well Tree of Life had Brad Pitt so kahit hindi mainstream movie yun ni-release nila and well Insidious is horror and may market talaga horror dito, mainstream or not.
I really hope may mag distribute agad nito sa atin this year. I think Gosling is enough box office draw na naman. So let's hope for that
^ I vaguely remember Blue Valentine being shown here; am I right? If so, that's a good sign considering that it has Gosling and a super indie distributor.
^ Blue Valentine was shown in the Philippines? That's awesome. It barely played in the U.S.
Handsdown best Ryan Gosling movie. I'm still pissed that he didn't get an Oscar nomination for that.
I just saw this! kabanas lang mababaw mga kasama ko, ako lang yata naka-appreciate![]()
Hindi ko maalala kung napalabas nga dito yung Blue Valentine, I'm sure not on mainstream release, baka limited lang siguro.
Anyway, let's see sa Drive
Any chance of a local release for this one???

DRIVE - JAMES SALLIS
"Much later, as he sat with his back against an inside wall of a Motel 6 just north of Phoenix, watching the pool of blood lap toward him, Driver would wonder whether he had made a terrible mistake. later still of course, there'd be no doubt. But for now Driver is as they say, in the moment. And the moment includes this blood lapping toward him, the pressure of dawn's late light at windows and door, traffic sounds from the interstate nearby, the sound of someone weeping in the next room..."
Thus begins Drive by one of the nation's most respected and honored authors. Set mostly in Arizona and L.A. the story is, according to Sallis, "about a guy who does stunt driving for movies by day and drives for criminals at night. In classic noir fashion, he is double-crossed and, though never before has he participated in the violence (I drive. That's all) , he goes after the one who double-crossed him.
Just saw Drive and I was quite impressed....very stylish, tense, terse and artsy violent action film.
Opens Oct. 26 locally as per Clickthecity.com
Enjoyed it very much. Siguro mga 8.5/10.
Didn't expect that it'll be gorier than 127 Hours. HAHAHA,
