it was during this period that Norman Black first joined Ateneo's coaching staff as team consultant and was elevated to head coach for the UAAP's 2005 season.
He won a championship in Sta. Lucia. Assistant was Coach Al Francis Chua.

Chris Tan is the STEPSON and not the adopted son of Norman Black. There's a huge difference.

ECJ's management style is that of a haciendero. That said, one of the things he values most is loyalty. And among those who have remained loyal to him are the Pumarens. After all, it was ECJ who brought them to Taft. So if you think that the manner in which the Pumarens were taken out the equation insofar as DLSU basketball is concerned sat well with the Boss, then you must be smokin something special.

A few weeks ago a contingent in green and white went a visiting to the headquarters of a conglomerate based in the OBD. Suffice to say that may nakuha naman but lets just say that the commitment they got was way below what they were expecting to get. Perhaps, thats why the delay in the announcement of Gee as head coach?....hmmm

With all the recent developments, I guess I want to have what you're smoking as well. With a matching foot in the mouth as well.

^ What developments are you talking about? Danding's speech? So what did Danding commit?

How apt your nick. sisiw talaga.

Abanilla said he is grateful to La Salle for his education, formation and career. “This is my chance to pay back La Salle,” he said. “It’s an honor to be coaching for my school. I’m excited to revive the ‘animo’ spirit and to work closely with the Lasallian community, particularly the alumni. It’s a major boost that Mr. (Eduardo) Cojuangco, a distinguished La Salle alumnus, is backing our team. It’s not just good for La Salle basketball but also for the sport as a whole.”

Sawa na siguro sa mga ari-arian. Just like those old Arab tycoons na mas gusto bumili ng football club sa Europe kaysa bumili ng kotse at yacht.

Good luck na lang sa PCCL.

Joke lang kasi yung kay Boss Danding. It's just one big elaborate hoax. Wala talaga siyang ibibigay na financial support sa La Salle, puro salita lang. With that, expect La Salle to be absent in the Final Four for the next decade or so.

I still have my doubts with this new DLSU coach. La Salle and ECJ could have picked a better one.

oo, maniwala ka dun sa Atenista. tama sila, non-commital si ECJ. wala nga binigay na amount eh! gets nyo ba yun!?!

that was 2001. Al Francis Chua was promoted to Head Coach during the PBA 2003 season after Norman Black resigned.

Norman Black did won as a pro coach to a very (if I could say) strong team with no chemistry. Siguro after he resigned, he applied what he learns to collegiate basketball.

Tingin ko nga rin talaga, DLSU Coach Franz Pumaren toned down in 2009. He wanted to change his tactics.Problem is di naging maganda ang transition.

I complete forgot that this is PEX where idiocy is the norm.

I'm very impressed with how much you know about what's going on in Taft. Let's see how it turns out.

Don't bet your lunch money against Hacksaw when it comes to UAAP basketball inside information. Do some backreading right here in PEX about the inside info Hacksaw has either shared or debunked as pure falacy. Hint, look up the threads on Arvie Bringas, UP and ADMU basketball, DLSU recruiting for starters. Hacksaw's own info was being passed by supporters of a particular school as their own and the gospel truth in a pataasan ng ihi battle. Kaso, supporters of both schools got wet in the process. Insult to injury, a specific school was burned by the recruit and the mayor never returned his finders fee.

Pre, what is new in this years recruiting wars? Have you heard the latest recruiting scuttlebutt. A UAAP coach is giving away annual round trip ticket to prospective recruits provided they fly a specific airline via LA, SF, Vegas or Vancouver. Said coach is forming his own security agency as most of his recruits are only up to his ears. His biggest problem, said airline does not fly to Nigeria, Ghana or Cameroon! Buti pa kung frequent flyer mileage ang pinamimigay niya.

My own info is that two of the boys you mentioned are still under consideration with their original school but will definitely spend time in team B. Good news, the wing position opens up after season 75 and the player with healthy knees may just make varsity then. Kaso, you know coach, laging mahaba ang listahan niya.

Blacksedan sir, you give me too much credit.

So, Franz was in the godfathers meeting. And I thought, judging from the posts here, the Pumarens were pariah. I wonder, who guaranteed Franz's protection there.
