Post Why Filipinos Chose to Leave for Canada?

Getting stable job can be so tough especially here in Philippines, that even exerting a lot of sweat and effort but ended up nothing because of tight competitions out there. A lot of Filipinos chose to leave home and fled to foreign countries searching for greener pasture. Canada is one of the best place that gives job opportunities to those unlucky to their own homeland. Check on this link....http://www.actonlawyer.com/jobs-in-c...ve-for-canada/

because it is easier to migrate to this country I think. and also i just want to share my thoughts, I am a fresh grad in the philippines and and passed the board exam but after that i have to leave for canada. and now its been months and still no luck in having a job. its hard to find a job here, thats for me i dunno for others. my qualifications, my education and work experiences -- not recognized in this country. now i wish to go back to time then apply for a fast food chain store, preferably multinational food chains and learn how to use a forklift! btw im in wpg.

    competition....

I disagree on that statement of yours in bold font. Not all those who come here are "unlucky" in their home country.. Some come here to secure a much better future for their kids, upgrade and come back to the Philippines to share what they gained from migrating. Philippines is still the best place to be after putting all things in their proper perspective.. Anywhere you go you have to distinguish yourself from the rest to stand out in the crowd, may it be in the Philippines or Canada...

    hey mr. patrick..

Don't lose hope. You're the person who wants to be a CA right?? Go for it. Being a board passer somewhere else does not guarantee you a job, and being a new one in the field of Accountancy at that. that. Try to go for your "network" there in MAnitoba, then get that "Canadian" experience whatever the heck that means... then go for your designation as they call it.. It will work wonders... mark my word.... I think I have answered some of your queries before...

    Just don't look hope.

    There's many factors.

    But personally I hated Vancouver!

There's something deep inside that city that is not right to me. People don't give you time of day and watch their backs like they're paranoid and don't trust each other. And after seeing the riots from a few months ago, my sentiments were confirmed!

Also, its sad that highly educated Pinoys go there and end up serving in a fast food chain. Oh phils my phils what's happened to you?

yes, true talaga. I once visited her sa work place, wahhh dami pinoy. Taga punas ng table but sa pinas meron pa personal driver. Inadavise ko na to move na lang out of the city kasi overpopulated.

My sister went here for a brighter future. Dito na sila nagkaanak at nabuhay for 10+ years. And they are not going back in the Philippines. Masaya na sila dito I guess.

I'm 24 now. . Naisip ko din na as a Canadian citizen, you are free to travel the world without applying for Visas. Yun pa ang isa kong motivation.

I consider myself lucky kasi nagkatrabaho ako 2 months after ng pagdating namin. 4 years experience + nagpatulong ako sa mga recruiters. I'm in IT by the way.

    kahit saan marami talagang kakaiba

I agree with you. The entire city is probably different from my observation. I'm just talking about my personal experience. I've been there 3 times because my gf use to live there (we're now in London, UK), and my experience in Vancouver were always the same. People were not very welcoming, and they're all about themselves, parang kanya kanya. Nothing with that I guess if you are used to that kind of environment.

My experience in Toronto is the complete opposite, both from local westerners and pinoys. They're very friendly, accommodating and they actually talk to strangers without fear that they will be kidnapped lol.

I guess people stay in the kind of place they want, and if you're happy where you are, then its ok.

  13. #13

  14. #14
^^define "maganda". . .the term itself is relative and subjective. I suggest you go to the more established forum/threads on Canada, and not on this marketing BS (crap nga daw sabi ni harry).

. .bakit, mukha ba akong pinoy? malay nila kung vietnamese/indonesian/thailander ako. . .

^my apologies, it was just an expression. It's more surprising than nakaka-inis, kasi it means hindi ako magaling mag-disguise, haha!

maganda tumira, stay for good. maganda mag migrate, mag work. lahat na ng positive na pede ma benefit kapag galing ka pinas.

  18. #18
^madami na kami discussions about that sa Canadian Immigration Thread Part V, backread ka doon. You will find anecdotal stories.

Moderator, please close this spam thread.

Well Canada is a great place for nursing graduates Filipino and the pay rate is quite high compared to middle east. However, getting visa is a bit hard so long you have an employer who requested you for a work. that will make the process quick for Global Visas you need.

Based sa mga kwento ng mga pinsan and mga friends nila sa akin, mas discipline mga tao doon (compare sa atin), kaya they chose to move there. Yes, lonely din kasi siyempre nandito lahat ng friends nila and family. And job nila is low position lang. PEro at least the gov't there is more discipline and hindi mga corrupt (sa atin kasi 10000% corrupt!), so hindi sila nabwibwisit.

Tama ba? Or iba na rin ngayon?
