    P50 biliion is more than enough to buy new trains for the LRT/MRT/PNR, improve stations, more TVMs, etc., isama na din ang isang true BRT system. We need to decongest Metro Manila.

    Ayusin lang ang Northrail at Southrail, laking tulong talaga nan.

    kaya maraming tao ang may kotse kasi takot sila sumakay ng public transport, especially buses and other PUVs....

    we need mass transport here (efficient), a MORE organized bus routes (and make it short) and mabawasan ang kotong enforcers.

    im in favor of this plan. makakatulong ito mag unclog sa traffic ng edsa. used up na design life. matagal nang sagad ang capacity.

    saan kaya kukunin ang pondo niyan? at grabe ang traffic na lilikhain nito during its construction.

    Bakit elevated pa?

    At kung gagawa rin lang ng bagong daanan, bakit kailangang along existing routes?

    Tignan na lang ang mga flyovers, theses are short elevated roads and it has destroyed the aesthetics of the areas where it now exist.

    Kahit nga ang elevated LRT and MRT natin ay nasira ang maraming tanawin where it is located.

    Mabuti pang tunnel ang gawing bagong daan. And instead of constructing it along existing routes, dig the tunnel to create new routes.

    Let us orient ourselves muna ---

    EDSA runs from west to east vice versa, Coastal Road south to north on the eastern side of the Metro, and McArthur hiway/ Avenida north to south on the western side of the Metro, I suggest to dig that tunnel to run diagonal to these existing routes.

    Dig that tunnel, that new road, starting from North/Northeast to end at South/Southwest or North/Northwest to Southeast.

    There are no existing roads that directly traverses diagonally across NCR. That will shorten travel time and decongest the grid layout of the Metro.

    Sa ngayon, cars go on an L- direction to get to their destination. It's like walking around half the perimeter of a block, bakit di gawing direct diagonal route? DI magawa dahil walang existing road.

    Yun ang gawin at gawing tunnel.

    MANILA, Philippines — A new EDSA (Epifanio De Los Santos Avenue) might soon rise in Metro Manila to address the traffic congestion in the metropolis, Public Works and Highways Secretary Rogelio Singson disclosed on Monday.
    Singson said they were looking at either putting an “elevated” expressway or a tunnel to decongest the traffic.
    “EDSA to us is a struggle. EDSA can no longer absorb widening so what’s our option?” said Singson during the hearing of the Senate finance committee.
    “We are doing a metro expressway for NCR [National Capital Region]. And this is either we put on top of EDSA a second level or we do a tunnel,” he said.
    “We’re completing a study on that and it looks like the elevated expressway on EDSA will be [built]. Bagong [New] EDSA,” Singson said. “We are finalizing our plans to do a new EDSA.”

    Making a single tiered elevated highway in EDSA is so 3rd world already and yet there are people who are opposed to it.

    The solution is so simple: More roads, less traffic. Other advanced countries do it without hesitation.

    I also hope they make express highways from airports direct to cities like Makati, Ortigas, and Fort.

    On top of making an elevated highway in EDSA, is it about time that the buses there should be government buses instead of private companies doing cut throat competition for passengers in EDSA? These private companies should do their business in the provinces not in the city because they congest the roads badly.

    Dapat kasi yung MRT ang nilagay sa tunnel.

    Dapat gumawa ng magandang transport system.

    improve mrt/lrt and other railways.

    and



    alisin ang mga bus. control the puv's!


    putting an edsa above the existing edsa is a disaster. ang gulo pa lalo niyan.




    just improve the mrt station. fx that will have a straight route on both ends or certain place na maraming bumababa.


    that way reduced traffic.

    There is no problem with elevated highways just like here in Japan but to put it in parallel with an existing road ay mukhang hindi pinag-aralan. Just like you, I also hope to see highways from airport going to cities but i think meron akong naexperience last time na umuwi ako as i arrive in terminal 3. From there, may dinaanan kaming elevated road going to Makati.

    doubling volume of traffic on EDSA bec of the elevated EDSA will mean other roads will have less load as well. we need more of these like on roxas blvd, C5, taft ave.

    japan has the money. we don't.

    dpwh estimates the elevated edsa will cost P50billion. by the time of completion, the cost may baloon up to twice as much due to escalations and variations.

    an elevated edsa is not the only solution to the problem of traffic congestion.
