ang reason kung bakit marahas ang god sa old testament is para mas madaling takutin ang mga primitive people 2000+ years ago at ma-convert sila sa kung ano mang relihiyon meron sila.

it's just about a group of people trying to control another group of people. 2000+ years ago, people heavily believed a lot of what we could consider bullshit today. earth is flat, sun revolves around the earth, throwing virgins in a volcano will yield more corn. things like that.

as time progressed, people became smarter and smarter. the idea of a cruel god of the old testament is getting out of date because people are starting to ask questions. and so the people in power commissioned the new testament featuring a loving and forgiving god. a lot of people liked it. made them feel comfortable, at ease, at home, secure. people in power were happy so they decided to print a LOT of bibles to be sold to everyone in the world and the vatican's piggy bank went as fat as you can possibly imagine.

it's all about keeping people in line and controlling them. like sheep. sheeple.
