Opening on August 17, the Simon West-directed action film stars Sylvester Stallone, Jason Statham, Jet Li, Dolph Lundgren, Chuck Norris, Randy Couture, Terry Crews, Liam Hemsworth, Jean-Claude Van Damme, Bruce Willis and Arnold Schwarzenegger.
In the film, Barney Ross (Stallone), Lee Christmas (Statham), Yin Yang (Li), Gunnar Jensen (Lundgren), Toll Road (Couture) and Hale Caesar (Crews) -- with newest members Billy the Kid (Hemsworth) and Maggie (Yu Nan) aboard -- are reunited when Mr. Church (Willis) enlists the Expendables to take on a seemingly simple job. The task looks like an easy paycheck for Barney and his band of old-school mercenaries. But when things go wrong and one of their own is viciously killed, the Expendables are compelled to seek revenge in hostile territory where the odds are stacked against them. Hell-bent on payback, the crew cuts a swath of destruction through opposing forces, wreaking havoc and shutting down an unexpected threat in the nick of time - six pounds of weapons-grade plutonium; enough to change the balance of power in the world. But that's nothing compared to the justice they serve against the villainous adversary who savagely murdered their brother.

At one point, Donnie Yen was offered a role in The Expendables 2, which was possibly the most promising moment in the casting process for the sequel. But he ended up not making it into the film, and now we know why.
They wanted me to be in Expendables 2′ but I just didnt feel the role clicked. I was flattered that I was approached by the producers but I just didnt see the role they asked me to do being that intriguing. I didnt really want to do it but Im open for anything. Doing a movie is a stressful thing. You spend months of you life focusing into that one project and I want to make sure I do something I really like or Im really passionate about.

'The Expendables 2' Cast: Who's the Most Badass?
http://www.nextmovie.com/blog/the-expendables-2-cast/
i love the first part of this movie the only thing that turnd me off is jet li di ko masyadong gusto yun ang oa kasi umarte eh parang di sya bagay sa maerican movies sana si jackie chan na nga lang yung pinalit nila dun mas masisiyahan ako sa panonood
wala nga din si mel gibson no? pwede din si antonio banderas
Jet Li must/should not be compared with Jackie Chan...they are totally different![]()
casting palang panalo na!
would love to watch this, napanuod ko yung una
Opens today! Hopefully mapanood ko this weekend![]()
Seen it. It's kinda corny but I liked it. I mean, come on. Si Arnie palang panalo na.
Jet Li was ok, he had his shining moment but as the movie progresses, you'll know why.
Astg si Scott Adkins dito, parang yung sa redemtion lang eh. Boyka!![]()
Ok the female chinese star - [spoiler start]Di siya bagay imo. I would've preferred Michelle Yeoh. She deserves to be in this series. Supercop, anyone? [spoiler end]
I didn't like the first Expendables but I enjoyed this one, perhaps because Expendables 2 was what I was expecting from the 1st movie but didn't deliver. The nostalgic cast of who's who of action stars past and present and the liberal graphic gore and violence. I gave the first Expandables a C but this was a major improvement was actually fun. Grade B.
Regarding Van Damme
[spoiler start]
I know he's the villain and I know his character dies at the end of the movie. But I am willing to be he will return in the 3rd movie playing as the Twin Brother. It's such a Van Damme thing to do.
[spoiler end]

musta performance ni chuck norris?
This film is fun... much much better than the first one, and I like the first one.
CHUCKKK NORRIIIIISSSS!!! Yup, I literally yelled that at the theater.
The second act was the best part of the movie for me since it was a break from the god mode and client trace, and establishes JCVD as a formidable and merciless villain. The humor and shout-outs were also funny. All in all, 5/10 for me.
Enjoyable for what it is![]()
