GEOFF TO VISIT DAD MICHAEL IN U.S.

WE had dinner with Geoff and Gladys after the parade. Geoff is leaving for the States on Thursday with brother Ryan to be with dad Michael de Mesa and brother AJ who are now both based in the U.S. Michael lives in Irvine, California and AJ is now a certified veterinarian. How come he doesn’t have a new show yet after “Magic Palayok” ended two months ago? “When I come, I’ll start a new show on primetime, tentatively titled ‘Legacy’, it’s a drama on high passion with Heart Evangelista, Iza Calzado (who’s now being linked to Pres. Pinoy Aquino after they were introduced to each other at Ogie Alcasid’s recent birthday party) and TJ Trinidad,” he says. “Kaya nga I’ll rest muna in the States before we start this.”

Movie stars, Yes; Politicians, No – as Iriga Celebrates 43rd Anniversary

Conversations with Gladys, Geoff: During lunch at the nearby Iriga City Plaza Hotel, Geoff Eigenmann was asked how he took to girlfriend Carla Abellana’s image-changing move to play a daring role in “My Neighbor’s Wife.”

Geoff cleared he had no issue with that as Carla had explained to him details of her role long before she accepted it. “We are both actors. I understand that side of hers that wants to grow as an artist,” he said.

Recall that back in the 1970s, even Geoff’s mother, Gina Alajar, went through the same sexy-role-playing route in movies like “Diborsyada” and “Playgirl.”

While Geoff is between TV jobs at this point, he’s taking a two-week vacation in the U.S. this month to visit his brother, AJ, and his father, Michael de Mesa. He’s set to reunite with former ABS-CBN leading lady Heart Evangelista in a GMA teleserye all about fashion upon his return.

Iza May Bagong Soap Na
ni Nitz Miralles

Nabanggit ni Geoff Eigenmann na kasama niya sila Iza Calzado, Heart Evangelista, at TJ Trinidad sa soap na gagawin. Legacy ang title nito at early next year pa gagawin.

Sabi ng kampo ni Iza, hindi ang Legacy ang project na sinabi ng GMA 7 na gagawin ng aktres. Magti-taping ang aktres this October ng isang soap at parang may feeling kami kung anong soap ito, pero ayaw muna naming isulat hangga’t hindi kumpirmado.

Baka gawin din ni Iza ang Legacy dahil next year pa ito at kung matutuloy, balik-tambalan nila ito ni TJ Trinidad na nakapareha niya sa Beauty Queen.

Magiging reunion din ito ni Geoff at Heart na last nagkasama sa ABS-CBN.

Heart is thinking of leaving GMA-7

ANYTIME soon ay kakausapin ng kampo ni Heart Evangelista si Atty. Felipe Gozun ng GMA-7 para alamin kung may plano pa ba sa aktres ang TV network o puwede na siyang magpa-release dito.

Hanggang 2012 pa ang pinirmahang guaranteed contract ni Heart sa GMA-7 pero ayon sa nakausap naming malapit sa aktres, hindi siya after sa perang ibinabayad sa kanya na bahagi ng kontratang pinirmahan. Ang importante daw sa dalaga ay ’yung meron siyang ginagawa.

“Gusto niyang magtrabaho. Hindi siya masaya na binabayaran siya ng network na hindi siya nagtatrabaho,” pagdidiin niya.

Nang makausap namin si Heart, ganito rin ang kanyang sentemiyento.

“I love to work, eh. Hindi ako masaya na wala akong ginagawa, na hindi ako umaarte or nagte-taping. Ito na kasi ’yung mundong kinagisnan ko kaya hinahanap-hanap ko talaga ito,” paliwanag ni Heart.

May nag-advice naman kay Heart na siya na mismo ang personal na mag-punta sa opisina ni Atty. Felipe Gozun para ipaalam ang kanyang concerns at mag-request na rin ng release paper.

Pero pag-iisipan raw muna ito ng kampo ni Heart. Ayaw nilang maging pabigla-bigla sa pagde-desisyon.

Anyway, mainit ang naging pagtanggap ng ilang mga Kapamilya stars kay Heart nu’ng dumalo ito sa nakaraang Star Magic Ball sa Manila Pen.

“Sobrang wam ng pagtanggap nila sa akin, pati nu’ng ibang mga bosses doon. Hindi ko naramdaman na outcasted ako. Parang tulad pa rin ng dati. Parang mga kapamilya ko pa rin sila,” tsika pa niya.

Nilinaw naman agad ni Heart na walang offer sa kanya ang ABS-CBN. But if given the chance, she would love to work again sa dating network na pinanggalingan niya.

HEART Evangelista may not admit it, but she was obviously adversely affected by her rift with Marian Rivera.

She may be telling the truth (Marian's silence about the whole thing can attest to this) but since it is a question of who's bigger than who, everybody knows who favored who.

Heart's move to be silent for a while after dropping a bomb against Marian likewise worked to her advantage. Fans' short memory may have done the trick, but there may have other good reasons.

Heart's new shampoo commercial (with Toni Gonzaga) says more than endorsement as it's about starting all over again.

GMA7 is clearly careful about its moves. Last Sunday, Heart was seen again on Party Pilipinas. Soon, she is taping a new drama series, Legacy, with Iza Calzado, TJ Trinidad and Geoff Eigenmann. Her network remembers well that among its contract stars, her previous shows fared well in the ratings.

By all indications, Heart is on her way back to the top. The only fly in the ointment, so to speak, is her relationship with a non-star, Daniel Matsunaga, as compared to Marian's Dingdong Dantes.

But does having a non-star boyfriend for a big star really matter? Just asking...

MANILA, Philippines -- Star News: Heart Evangelista need not fret following the cancellation of “Cain at Abel,” the series that would have co-starred her with Dingdong Dantes. GMA executive Wilma Galvante has informed the actress that she’s been cast in another soap that will start production in the last quarter of the year. The show will be on primetime, says Ms. Galvante.

Geoff Teams Up with Heart

In his next teleserye on GMA-7, Geoff will have a new leading lady in the person of Heart Evangelista. And since they are not taping yet, Geoff took the opportunity to visit his dad, Michael de Mesa, and brother AJ.

Geoff’s last show was “Magic Palayok.” About his girlfriend Carla Abellana’s going sexy in her movie “My Neighbor’s Wife” which opened Sept. 14, the actor said it was something they discussed before shooting started.

BELA CREATES SCENE IN CHINA

BELA Padilla just returned from a 12-day visit to Nanning, China where she represented the country in the Asian SuperModel competition and won two awards: the Media Darling Award from the local press and the Ms. Friendship award from the 36 other candidates from various countries. Jenny Donato of the GMA Artist Center was with her and says she easily endeared herself to everyone. “Throughout the competition, her image often appeared on TV, in print and the internet,” adds Jenny. “No wonder that on coronation night, she was hands down the most applauded among the participants.”

“I’ll admit, umeksena ako roon para mapansin ako,” says Bela. “When we went to Guilin, ang ganda ng scenery parang probinsiya na may rice terraces din, namulot ako ng sili, nakipaglaro ako sa mga manok, so the cameras, laging nakatutok sa’kin. I enjoyed the trip and it served as training for me kasi I plan to join the Miss Philippines World next year. They taught us how to walk properly and I learned how to be competitive and treat every girl as a rival. I also got to see how it is to rub elbows with people of other nationalities.”

After “Endless Love” and “Machete,” she now plays a villain to Jackie Rice in “Sisid” that ends this afternoon. “I’m there hanggang sa ending. My character, Monique, learn how to let go of Dominic Roco at pinaubaya ko na siya kay Jackie as I see how much they love each other. Memorable ang ending. Ako mag-a-abroad, pero may mamamatay rin at may mababaliw at dadalhin sa mental hospital, so don’t miss it.”

By next month, she was told she’d start a new soap with Sam Pinto and Iza Calzado, also a new movie with Rhian Ramos and Aljur Abrenica. “I’m really thankful to GMA kasi tuluy-tuloy ang trabaho ko,” she beams.
