Hi! Pwedeng makahingi ng recommendation for a good dentist in the quezon city area?
Thanks!

A filling or restoration is around P800 to P1,000 per surface (not per tooth). A tooth can have up to 5 or 6 surfaces. For example you only want 1 tooth to have a restoration, but it so happens that tooth has a 3 surface cavity, for that 1 tooth you will pay P2,400 to P3,000. There are clinics here in the Philippines that can charge up to P2,000 per surface.
A dental implant costs P80,000 per implant (this is the cheap price) and can reach up to P200,000 per implant ( this is what specialist charge for 1 dental implant)
Hi. I don't work in a mall clinic. Why don't you like mall dentists, if I may ask? Just because the clinic is not located in a mall (like the clinic I work in) does not mean you will be charged less. There are times you will actually be charged more if the clinic is not inside a mall. For example, a mall clinic can charge up to P10,000 for impacted wisdom tooth removal, whereas the clinic I work in can charge up to P15,000 for impacted wisdom tooth removal. There's a P5,000 difference.
Hi doc,
Question lang. kc kanina nagpapasta ako and cleaning. then natanggal *** jacket ko sa harap. dahil sa cleaning. so kinabit ulit ni dentist then ang nangyare ni-drill n lang nya un likod nung porcelain tooth, sbi nya kc ndi na daw sakto *** jacket kaya natama na dun sa lower teeth ko. almost 3yrs pa lang **** *** jacket ko, now Im planning to replace it since sabi nung dentist baka daw naiba *** alignment kaya natama n sya sa lower teeth.
Other than pasta meron pa po bang ibang paraan para matakpan to permanently ?
hi doc smilewarrior,
my lower teeth kasi protrudes. baliktad kasi diba dapat yung upper teeth dapat? maco-correct pba to ng braces *** maging normal yung positioning ng teeth ko? in ur estimate, mga magkano ang magagastos for this?
Hi! I have nothing against mall dentists. Personal preference lang. Yung dentist kasi na pinupuntahan ko nag-abroad na pala, so hindi ako nakahingi ng recommendation from her. Ayoko naman magtanong sa family/friends kasi hindi ako comfortable going to the same dentist with someone I know.
Please have either a peri-apical x-ray or a Panoramic x-ray of the area taken. From the x-ray your dentist will be able to determine what could possibly be causing the pain. It is possible that a tooth adjacent to the surgical site has a problem.
You need to have it restored ( pastahan) immediately before it gets bigger. When you brush your teeth ( preferably with a toothpaste that has Fluoride like Colgate, Hapee, Sensodyne, Close-Up etc.) keep the toothpaste in your mouth for at least 5 minutes. Huwag magmumumog agad ng tubig.
I will send you a private message.
Haven't personally tried the product so I don't know how it taste's like. I may not be the best person to ask though (whether it is safe to use) , mas mainam kung Periodontist ang sasagot mas alam kasi nila yan kaysa sa akin. I will say that the company that distributes it has a good reputation as far as the dental community is concerned.
Together with braces, TAD's (Temporary anchorage devices) may be used depending on the case. For severe cases, besides braces you might need Orthognathic Surgery ( can cost up to P500,000 for 2 jaw surgery at a private hospital, price does not include cost of braces and surgical splint).

Hi, san ba merong cosmetic dentist?
yung front teeth ko kase may pasta na kaso ang problem ay hindi pantay yung pagkakapasta kaya naiiba yung shape ng front teeth ko. may parang gap na butas na maliit in between the teeth. gusto ka sana ay yung straight line lang sya. kaya ba to gawin ng cosmetic dentist at saan meron dito sa manila?
thanks...
Kapag dating sa antibiotics dapat ang masusunod ay yung gumagamot sa iyo, not the other way around. Though it is not wrong, at our clinic we do not routinely prescribe co-amoxiclav or clindamycin because there are alternatives to them ( I am not referring to amoxicillin as an alternative ).
I would suggest you visit Hospital Dentistry, second floor of Out-patient Department UP-PGH at the corner of Padre Faura and Taft Avenue, just across the Supreme Court of the Philippines. Please google UP-PGH's main landline number and request to be connected to the Dentistry Department. You can contact them Monday to Friday (Wednesday half-day) government office hours. They'll probably take new x-rays and assess you then shedule the procedure at another date.
The space you see is called an embrasure. It is normal and functions as a spillway for food. If that space is closed, there is a greater chance that food will get stuck in that area and can lead to bad breath or even an infection.
Within limits, there might be away to reduce the size of the embrasure (which looks like a dark triangle) by using either composite or porcelain but not completely close it. We've always had embrasures actually. The reason they become more noticeable as we age is because in the same way that our hairline recedes with age, so do the gingiva (gums) recede with age. When we were younger, the gingiva filled up the embrasure area so the embrasure is not so noticeable.
For cosmetic dentists, please google Philippine Academy of Esthetic Dentistry. You'll be able to find a list of dentists to choose from. I'm not a Cosmetic Dentist.
Dun daw kasi ididikit yung bridge or parang ganun. Ganun ba talaga, doc?
Saka gaano katagal mag "heal" or mag "back to normal" yung pakiramdam ko after magpakabit ng fixed bridge?
Thanks
Ask ko lang po. I just had my 2nd molar (lower left side) surgically extracted kaninang 4pm. I had taken antibiotics 3 days prior the day of the operation. Ok naman yun extraction, may sutures to close the gums. I was advised to take pain reliver and cefalexin post-op, and mag-gargle ng Bactidol (which hindi ko pa ginagawa kasi nag-bleed pa). My problem is bleeder daw ako. I tried putting cold compress sa cheeks ko where the extraction was done. I read in some threads na helpful yung Hemostan to lessen the bleeding. I texted my dentist pero hindi sya nagreply pa. Gusto ko lang tumigil na yung bleeding.

nagback read ako and may post si smilewarrior last 2005 sa post-extraction do's and dont's. Thanks for the info, i'll try putting cold compress sa cheek ko. Helpful talaga magbackread!
