^therealcynic peri-apical x-ray is P300 per x-ray. You may need several of these if you have several teeth that need x-rays. You also have the option to have a Panoramic x-ray taken first (costs P800). Sa panoramic kita na kasi lahat ng ipin, mas accurate nga lang image sa Peri-apical x-ray. Both have their uses.
Regarding your teeth, prevention is better than cure. Rather than focusing on how to deal with tooth decay and gum disease, a better, cheaper and smarter approach is how to avoid them :
1. Drink clean water regularly, several times a day. Water means water, hindi pwede yung may dagdag na powdered juice concentrate, etc. It has to be water.
2. Use dental floss everyday. Every patient I've encountered who does not floss eventually loses some of their teeth. Some even lose all their teeth. A box of dental floss is just P70 to P200, a lot cheaper than having a filling which now costs anywhere from P700 to P2,000 per surface ( a tooth can have 5 to 6 surfaces) or Root canal therapy at P5,000 or more per canal (not per tooth).
3. Brush your teeth before you sleep. You cannot sleep if your mouth is not clean. Flouride toothpaste should never be swallowed and should stay in the mouth ( you can spit as much as you want but don't gargle immediately) for at least 5 minutes.
Sometimes we are put in a situation wherein we put the needs of others before our own. It is because of this that we sometimes tend to neglect ourselves, and this relates to oral hygiene. You need to start taking care of yourself, because by doing so you'll be able to better take care of everyone else.
