    hi doc smile,

Hello doc! I'm planning to have braces on kasi sungki lower teeth ko at slightly sa itaas. kaso Sabi ng dentist wag na Lang daw since maganda naman daw ngipin ko sa itaas. I have deep bite din po Kaso d naman po necessary ang treatment sabi niya. Naguguluhan tuloy ako if wag na or mag2nd opinion na Lang po or baba na Lang ipabrace ko. Thanks po doc for any advice ;D

^ rejielee which specific teeth will be removed? Left or right? Up or down? Incisor? Canine? Premolar? Molar? Magkatabi ba sila? Malayo sa isa't-isa ? Please describe as best you can. I don't mind reading long descriptions.

Hi Doc, this is my first post kasi I badly need and advise from an expert.

So here's my story. I had my teeth braces for 1 year 2009-mid 2010. That was the last time I had my permanent pasta for all my damaged teeth. Then I had whitening treatment Sept2010. I got pregnant and gave birth Dec2011. Then a few weeks ago, sumakit ng sobra yung left side ng pisngi ko pero tiniis ko lang sya kasi I thought nangalay lang ako from a wrong sleeping position. The next day I was surprised to see my 2nd molar sa down-left side in half! Mukhang nalunok ko yung other half kasi diko na sya nakita! So I went to dentist to check but hindi ako na x-ray kasi trying to conceive ulit ako so pinababalik na lang ako pag negative. They just put a temporary filling to ease the pain.

So now it's confirmed negative and I'm planning to have a complete "make-over" for my teeth. But I want the cheapest option sana kasi I also would like to have veneers for my two front teeth. I don't know which to prioritize kasi I lack budget and aside from that 12 yung teeth na need ng pasta based sa last check nila nung nagpa teeth-whitening ako. By the way, my third molar in that same area where my 2nd molar split in half was already removed when I had my braces done.

Hope you can advise me of the best thing to do now and recommend perfect dentist to consult to (na medyo affordable din). Sumasakit na kasi ulit yung 2nd molar ko and pati yung ibang for pasta sumasakit na rin.

    Thanks po!!!!

    TIA Doc!

Thanks doc for the response. Doc, lahat ba ng may deep bite need ng braces? Curious Lang po ako Kasi sabi sakin no need. Thanks po uli

Hi. Before any type of teeth bleaching is done, all the teeth that have tooth decay and need restorations (fillings) should be attended too. Should the bleaching material enter the holes of teeth with tooth decay, the patient may feel intolerable discomfort.

Our teeth have the potential to last a really long time. It makes more sense to take care of your teeth ( which you probably already know) than spend thousands upon thousands of pesos having them restored. Start by drinking clean water regularly. Water with ice tea or juice concentrate does not count. Water means water. Next you need to floss your teeth. The more cavities a patient has usually means they either floss once in a blue moon or don't floss at all ( which is sadly true for the vast majority of Filipinos ... kaya ang daming Pinoy na sira ang ipin). Finally you need to brush 3 to 4 times a day. Pregnancy does not weaken teeth. It's just that when a mother gets pregnant she tends to focus more on taking care of her unborn child than she does taking care of herself.

That's hard to answer without examining you. What I can say though is that when you have a deep bite, hindi pwedeng ibaba lang o itaas lang ang may braces.

It's okay. You might need either a 4 or 6 unit bridge for your upper teeth and another 4 or 6 unit bridge for your lower teeth. Pwede na ang Porcelain-fused-to-metal bridges, at P8,000 to P10,000 or more per unit.

I think East Avenue Medical Center has a dental department. Perhaps they do charity cases you might be able to apply as a patient there.

It will be your treatment provider who will determine whether you need to have teeth pulled out to create space and which teeth will have to be removed. There are consequences to removing teeth so it is important that a thorough examination and analysis of your Diagnostic records be made first before deciding to remove teeth.

Hi DocSmile. Thanks for the advise, nagpacleaning na po ako and for scheduling na ng tooth extraction of all remaining 3rd molars plus yung nahati na 2nd molar . By the way, everyday po ako nagfloss and nag gargle ng mouthwash since nagbraces po ako.

    -- All Porcelain (empress brand) - 17K
    -- Ceramco All Porcelain 15K
    TIA doc

Ngayon po is inadvise nya na magpa tingin ako sa perio about this.

Not familiar with Ceramco. Honestly though, hindi ako Prosthodontist so I have no clinical experience with either one. Maganda din ang brand na Lava. Masyadong mura yung P7,000 to P8,000 baka hindi all-porcelain yan, baka may bakal sa ilalim (which is not bad, kung bakal nga akma naman ang presyo). An All porcelain crown is transluscent. As such it will need a very expensive transluscent cement. Because of the shear cost of fabricating and cementing an All porcelain crown, no dentist in his right mind would charge low for it.

Hindi kasi madaling gamutin ang Periodontitis. If you are low on cash perhaps you can apply as a patient at a dental school.

Yun nga lang kailangang tingnan kung may crack yung mismong pustiso kasi kung mayroon this crack needs to be fixed as well (if it can be fixed ). How much you'll exactly spend I cannot answer. If I were to guess it would be around P1,000 to P3,000. You will spend a lot more if you need new dentures.

  17. #3557
^ Perhaps it is better to have a new one made.

    hi doc smile!

i am considering veneers. i have a dentist friend whom i visit twice (or more) every year depende na lang kung may sumasakit. pero i dont like her to do veneers on my teeth.

question: how much po ba per tooth ang veneers? yung magandang klase na sana and long lasting. also, i am in makati, so im looking for a good clinic who specializes on that procedure. thanks in advance doc

  19. #3559
    hello doc!

question po sana because im in so much pain right now even after 2 recent extractions...

3 weeks ago naextract po ang 2nd to the last bagang ko sa lower left which revealed the last remaining bagang on that side na merong butas pala (never po ito sumakit before, ngilo lang, even after the extraction hindi siya sumasakit)...2 days ago naman po inextract ang pinakalikod na bagang sa lower right side ko...both times inextract kasi di na daw kaya i-RCT, eh masakit na sobra kaya i had no choice...yung recent extract may abscess yung tooth at mejo masakit yung bunot pero bearable (btw sbi ni dentist di daw pwede i-RCT kasi may abscess, tama ba yun?)...ang tanong ko po talaga ay eto..after po ng recent extraction ko na akala kong mawawala na ang pain na di ako pinapatulog, bigla pong sumakit ng bonggang bongga ang opposite side ng mouth ko...ang weird po kasi yung extraction site halos walang pain pero yung kabilang side, yung sa left, both sa taas and sa baba pero restricted to specific teeth lang ay super super po ang sakit...ang sumakit po bigla ngayon after ng extraction ay yung nag-iisang bagang sa lower left side (yung may butas) at yung 2 sa upper left side na pangil na kailangan ko daw pong ipa-RCT (ang periapical xray request po nakalagay #24 and #25 na ang weird kasi iba ang standard numbering sa internet)...super sakit po nia na hindi siya madaan sa ponstan 500...arcoxia 30mg na po ang iniinom ko plus amoxicillin 500mg...hindi ko na po maintindihan kung ano ang nangyayari parang lumala pa kasi...prang kinakabahan na din po ako dun sa dentist na gumawa ng both extractions baka may mali siyang nagawa or something...need your advice doc...thank you in advance...

  20. #3560
    followup question...
